I dated this girl for 5 years and she is sending me this

Post image

As a girl, I want your opinion.

She’s 23 (F). How do I explain the difference between reality and fiction?

She wants me to yearn for her, to constantly chase her and express my feelings in ways that, honestly, feel performative to me.

I don’t send her reels all the time, but I do make an effort to talk to her because I genuinely enjoy having conversations with her. To me, connection should come naturally, not feel like a competition over who misses whom more.

She told me she can earn money herself and that what she really wants is someone who yearns for her.

Anyone can give flower to her but how do I explain I have compromised my values in this relationship and I am still standing.

I understand that she wants to feel wanted, but I think there’s a difference between wanting someone to love you and wanting them to constantly prove it.

A little about me: I’m an ambitious man. It’s been five years, and throughout this relationship, I’ve pushed her to grow, challenged her, and encouraged her to reach her potential. Now, I want that same energy in return. I want someone who challenges me, pushes me forward, and helps me become a better version of myself.

I’ll admit that I’ve been toxic at times, and I’m not trying to justify my mistakes. I know I have things to work on. But at this point in my life, I want a relationship that brings peace, emotional security, and mutual growth.

The problem is that every time I talk to her, it feels like I’m entering another battleground. Instead of feeling understood, I feel like I have to defend my intentions, explain my actions, and prove that I care.

I don’t want a relationship where love becomes a constant test. I want a partner who understands that ambition, personal space, and genuine affection can coexist with love.

Am I wrong for wanting this? How do I explain the difference between the romantic expectations she has and the kind of relationship I want to build? And after five years together, how do I figure out whether we can actually give each other what we need?

My employee accidentally exposed my business partner and now I don’t know what to do

I own a small business with a 50/50 partner. We’ve been working together for a couple years and, for the most part, I thought everything was fine.
Last week one of my employees asked if he could talk to me privately after closing. I thought he was going to ask for a raise or complain about another employee.
Instead he asks me, “You know your partner has been taking cash out of the register, right?”
I laughed because I genuinely thought he was joking.
He tells me there have been nights when my partner comes in, opens the register, takes cash, and tells whoever is working that I already know about it. Apparently everyone assumed it was normal because… he owns half the business.
I definitely did NOT know about it.
So I went through months of camera footage and register reports. I couldn’t see everything, but I found multiple nights where the numbers didn’t make sense. On one night, the register was short almost $900.
Here’s where it gets weird.
I decided not to confront him. Instead, I casually mentioned that I was thinking about installing a new POS system that tracks every cash transaction and automatically sends both owners a daily report.
His entire attitude changed.
He immediately started saying it was unnecessary, too expensive, and that employees would feel like we were “watching them.”
Then the next morning he randomly texted me:
“By the way, sometimes I take cash for business expenses and forget to put the receipts back.”
I NEVER accused him of taking cash.
I never even mentioned missing money.
Now I’m sitting here wondering if he basically confessed without realizing it.
The employee who originally told me is begging me not to mention his name because he’s scared he’ll lose his job.
I own 50% of this place, have a ton of money tied up in it, and now I don’t even know if I can trust the person who owns the other half.
Would you confront him now, keep documenting everything quietly, or bring in an accountant first?

My mom said she won’t be coming home today and is done being a mother

Sorry if my words are a bit everywhere, I’m freaking out rn.
I 19f have been doing my own thing recently trying hard to find employment but Im finding it a bit challenging. I haven’t had a job before so me being almost 20 with no work history has seem to become a problem because even grocery stores want at least 6 months experience. Me and my mother has had a close relationship the past years, almost like a Gilmore girls type of relationship. One thing Iv told her that I didn’t like though, where her choice in men. We’ve figured it out together and all has been well.

Ever since the start of September though Iv noticed a change in her. Being happy about turning 35, going out, talking to people. Iv been happy for her, finally being out there. She has spent all her time dedicated to being a mother and she’s done a great job doing it all alone. She’s always drank alcohol so she can handle her stuff, but for some reason this past month she hasn’t been able to remember what she did the previous night. Shed already come in from work intoxicated and be on the phone talking to men. And when she’s not on the phone, I would try to tell her something about what’s been going on inside the house and she just states that she doesn’t care and she doesn’t know what the rest of us (me and my 3 siblings) expect her to do. That she’s already working 40 hours and there’s nothing more she could do. She says a lot of the time that she’s the only parent taking on 4 children by herself and that it’s been hard and exhausting.

Today, she asked me why Iv been distant the past 2 weeks and she feels that I’m mad at her. I told her we can talk about it once she gets back home but she kept pushing and pushing so I told her. About how I don’t care for her drinking the past month and how’s she’s been aggressive and put her hands on me for no reason. She said she has no recollection of this whatsoever and wth I’m talking about. I gave her a bit more details and she said she couldn’t believe it and why didn’t I say anything. Like I said before, the next day she tends to not remember anything she does the previous nights. And I know she’s been stressed and sad lately so I didn’t want to come off as if I’m calling her a bad mother or an alcoholic. I also told her about how I don’t appreciate that when I do try to talk to her, she dismisses me and goes back to talking to whatever man she’s otp with. Mind you this all happened on a call today while she was on her way to work. I kept trying to stir the conversation away but she kept telling me it’s okay and just to say it. She ended up angry and sad saying how we want her to be alone and miserable in the house, how she can’t have a social life now after all of these hard years, and how she won’t drink anymore. Then hung up. Minutes later she sends me an alarming text saying she won’t be coming home and that’s she’s done being a mother, that she hopes we’ll see what it’s like without her.

I’m not sure if I was in the right, telling her all of that at the moment, I told her we can talk more at home so I can explain better because I know she’s has a history of depression and suicidal thoughts but even so she’s never done this before. What do I do from this point, should I give her space and see if she comes home later. Should I leave a text or try to call her. This just happened the past hour so she might come back, and if she does she would probably be very angry with me and everyone.

Edit: I just want to say that she’s the only person we have to rely on, when it comes to family they are all either estranged or deceased. Also we are all teens (13,14,16) so we can figure it out for a few days if need be.

Emotionally abusive mom randomly texted me out the blue

Post image
157 Upvotes

My mom when I was growing up neglected me and hurt me in many ways. She has lots of issues mentally and that caused us to eventually just fall apart. I moved out a year ago but the other week my dog had to go to the vet and it ended up costing me 3000. I was calling my dad about this as we are fine and I’m struggling with money and he said he’d help out financially.

Today he called me saying he will no longer help me pay at all because my mother said no, I cried and got really upset because i physically can’t afford this bill and rent and really just needed to loan some money. I’m working overtime at work currently and have my mom text me out of the blue this.

What the fuck kind of question is this? How am I even supposed to respond to this shit. It’s like she wants to me be depressed lol🤦‍♀️

my dad (m40) told me (f16) that he cant stop staring at my tits/ass

For context, I’ve grown into myself obviously, but it’s come to a point in my life where I want to wear fitted shirts/ shorts. I’ve really enjoyed wearing babydoll tops/tank tops recently as I’ve lost weight and am extremely comfortable with myself now. My whole family is very Mormon and into this purity culture, and your body is a temple esq thing. I am an atheist, but nobody knows that cs my shit would be fried asf. My dad had repeatedly told me not to wear such items and that he'll report me to the bishop, but I really don’t care. It just got to a point when he said he couldn’t stop staring simply because “he’s a man too." He said when I walk and they jiggle, it makes him uncomfortable. Like, damn, just don’t be a weirdo. Then I just feel it’s weird, especially because I’m going to college soon (I graduated when I was 15). And yes, I understand I’ll still be underage by the time I go, but still controlling what I wear and chastising me is ridiculous and on top of the fact that he’s my own father. I have C cups (tmi) so its not like its IMPOSSIBLE to ignore. What do I do?

Friend and I made out and she confessed to me. Help.

Basically the title. I've never really dated or had much romantic experience, and I'm honestly pretty awful at picking up any sort of romantic cues from anyone. I'm grey-aroace (edit: demisexual/romantic!), autistic and queer so I also have a weird definition of what I view as platonic or not - so I do occasionally kiss my friends in an affectionate, weird gay friends way.

This friend of mine is gorgeous, literally looks like a model and is such a sweet and genuine person, and we were hanging out with some friends and flirting a ton in what I thought was a joking way.

The flirting kind of amped up throughout the night, especially after telling her that I sometimes kiss my friends, and we ended up briefly making out.

I enjoyed it, but didn't really think past it being like my other experiences with friends, because frankly I'm a dumbass, and afterwards she confessed that she likes me.

The thing is, is that I genuinely have no idea what to think or do. She is an incredible person, so kind, so gorgeous, but I have no experience, have many insecurities, and I also have a ton on my plate right now where I havent even considered romance.

I just dont know what to do since I've never been in this position before. She also is almost TOO nice if that makes sense, in a way where I love to be a bit of an asshole in a fun way to people, and she is just like, human goodness. I dont know😭😭😭 I don't know enough about romance to know if dating would work, what it would look like, ect ect ect

Basically, people of reddit, given my very definitely not confused panic of a post, what do I do? Help

Edit: In case people didn't see the comment I posted, thank you everyone for the replies! Last night was one of the first parties that I have been to, and I was having a major freak out, definitely left out important details and wasn't thinking clearly either. I'll be talking to her as soon as my head is clearer. Although we were openly communicating throughout the night and everything, it is definitely a good idea not to go around kissing any more friends. You are all right and I am a dumbass. Thank you guys😭😭

Started taking my birth control correctly, and now I feel like a sociopath, what do I do?

• Upvotes

Hi, I am 23 F and I have not really been advised very well with my feminine care for pretty much my whole life. Recently, it was discovered by my PCP that I have been taking my placebo week the whole time I’ve been on birth control since the age of 12 years old, I started having severe behavioral and emotional issues at around that age as well. I never really noticed at the time, but I always came around the time of my placebo week and especially during it and even a bit after it. I would be so angry and so depressed that I would do insane things to my body, I would go out of my way to hurt people to feel better, on top of a bunch of other terrible shit I did for years and years.

I have not had the same PCP consistently during all of this, I had a completely different PCP that left her office permanently around 2023, I switched back to my childhood PCP who initially had put me on the birth control, and she told me to immediately stop taking my placebo week and just take the next week of birth control from now on, when I told her what was going on. It’s been almost a full two months of doing this, and even though I feel so much better and I don’t feel like hurting other people. I feel completely and utterly detached from my emotions, like it’s quite literally night and day now. My baseline for my emotions is absolutely fucking nothing, I can’t find anything funny anymore, the people that I love that have since passed away, those memories don’t tear me apart anymore. I don’t feel guilt when I lie, I feel paranoia that I’m going to be caught, I don’t even feel pleasure the same right now, it feels like a means to an end or like sneezing, if that makes sense.

I feel like I should be worried about this, I feel like this is not normal, but I just don’t know and I need to hear it from anyone else who has done this.

TLDR: started skipping placebo week on birth control, now no longer feel emotions at all or normally like how I used to.

Update: my boyfriend doesn't respect my boundaries.

We're now broken up. I found out he had been cheating on me with one of my friends literally a day after I made my first post. I was really close to breaking up with him anyways, I'm only 16 and that's way too young to be trying to change a shitty boyfriend, but that just sealed the deal. I hate that I still love and miss him but I know he probably doesn't feel the same way about me. I'm the most upset that he chose my friend to cheat on me with and that she went along with it. I'm working on finding better people to surround myself with.

My parents sold my car and won’t give me the money.

• Upvotes

Long story short , I got about 3k in school refunds about a year ago. I was planning to buy my own car but my parents begged me to buy an old car they had . I gave them the money, and within a month the car failed. I was pissed to say the least , and for that year . My dad promised I’d get the money back or at least half because again they begged me to get the car. Then , behind my back my mom and dad sold my car without even asking . They got around 1,200 for it , and when I asked my mom for it . She said I didn’t deserve the money because I had an “attitude” and I was “disrespectful”. My dad , on the other hand tried to argue with my mom about it . But my dad is overly passive and tends to get quiet or try to do whatever she says to keep the peace . so , a year and some change has passed and I still have yet to see a dime of the money. Since then , my parents have bought a new car and sold their other ones to distant relatives. I want to ask my mom about it , but she tends to explode and brings up things I said in like 5th grade to show how I’m not deserving of the money. I got a new car , that needs a little fixing but it’ll be under the amount they sold it for . I’m scared to ask her and have my living situation be hell or maybe even be hit because she can’t handle disagreements . Because it’s been so long idk if I should let it go ? Or if I’m still allowed to ask and want the money . I would ask my dad but I’m scared my mom might get a little physical with him. Anyways , do you think I’m still entitled to the money? Or should I just let it go and take my L.

My husband got my assistant pregnant

this is a throwaway (that name was so random) and I will go to therapy bur right now talking and hearing myself talking about it is too much.

We are both successful in our careers and we build our life together. started from nothing. We don't have a family business and are working in 2 different fields. I work in marketing, he works in law. Children are already teenagers so I felt our life is really great.

I had to hire an assistant with my work and found a 28 years old woman. Nice, incredibily smart, spoke 3 languages, great communication skills and yeah, good looking but in a very classy way. She has been working for me for over a year. And long story short, my husbang got her pregnant and turns out that not only this. They were talking about me, she hates me. she said she always hated me. i saw their texts. she said something like I always hated women like her who pretend they don't need a man and play victim.

I never said I don't need MY man. him. I never even talked to her about these things. It was a profesional relationship and nothing else.

We are going to divorce of course, currently I moved back to my parents, I needed my mother. But I don't understand TF happened. We are in our 40s. I am 42 and he is 45 and we got together ever since we started high school. I mostly work from home. they were screwin in my bed. Our son is also hurt and is on my side and wants to cut contact with him. and husband doesn't even care. my daughter blames her and me (she literally attacked that woman and started hitting her)

A guy I was seeing asked me to fight with him, so I did, and now I’m genuinely confused about what happened.

For context, I’m 20F 5’6 not particularly the strongest or biggest and I’ve literally never been in a physical fight in my life. I’ve never even play fought with anyone before, so I genuinely have no idea how strong my punches are or how hard I’m capable of hitting someone.

So basically, this guy I’ve been seeing came over, and at some point he started asking me to fight him. He kept saying, “Let’s fight, let’s fight.”

And I was literally begging him not to. I kept saying, “Please no, I don’t want to fight. I’ve never fought before. Please, I don’t want to do this.”

Mind you, this guy boxes, and he’s significantly bigger and stronger than me. So in my head, I was thinking that if he’s repeatedly asking me to fight him, surely he knows what he’s getting himself into and can handle it?
Eventually, I agreed, and I genuinely started punching the shit out of him. 😭

The thing is, I wasn’t trying to actually hurt him. I thought we were play fighting, but because I’ve never done anything like this before, I didn’t really understand how much force I was using.

Next thing I know, he restrains me and literally runs off.
And I’m just standing there completely confused because I genuinely didn’t think I was hitting him that hard. My glasses didn’t even fall off my face, which obviously isn’t a measure of how hard I was punching, but that’s how little I understood what was happening in the moment.
Now I feel absolutely terrible cos he’s blocked me. I barely slept, and I’ve been shaking because I keep replaying the whole situation in my head.

I know that punching someone can hurt them regardless of whether they asked for it, and I’m not trying to excuse that. I just genuinely didn’t understand what he meant by fighting or how far things were supposed to go.
I’m also confused because I repeatedly told him I didn’t want to fight in the first place.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Am I missing something here? Because I genuinely don’t know what to make of this situation. Prior to this he was saying i’m too nice to him and i’ve never even raised my voice at him before, i’m not the type of person to actually fight anyone or put my hands on anyone he literally begged me too. I’ve never even insulted or cussed him out. Idk what do you guys think.

For more context i’ve never even thrown a punch before or have even been in a fight, he said the rules were no hitting face and balls and i didn’t do that at all He is not a professional boxer

I think I might like a girl, but I also am 90% sure I'm straight.

Hi! I'm really confused here, and I think I need the people's opinion. I go to an all-girls' school, so I'm not sure if this is a proximity-based thing. However, for the past few months, I cannot get this girl off of my mind, and I'm pretty sure I might have a crush on her. We're sort of friends, and she's really smart, pretty, and funny. Despite this, and this does make me sound like a prick: we're in completely different circles. I'm in a popular clique, whereas she's a lot less popular as some people perceive her as 'weird' for liking anime or whatever. Personally, I'm not bothered, but everyone I know just makes fun of her all of the time making me feel as if I can't get closer with her. Plus, whenever I mention her, if I'm not mocking her, then I get the piss taken out of me by my friends.

She has always been interested in talking to me, so I think she wouldn't mind becoming friends with me, but I also wonder whether my friends put her off?

The main reason I'm asking, and I know this post is not very well articulated whatsoever, is what your opinion is on this? Am I bisexual, or straight? I've always liked boys, so I honestly don't know, but I do think it could be completely down to proximity or just a huge friend-crush.

P.S. she's lesbian, which is also a reason my friends don't like her.

Girlfriends phone addiction is getting out of control and I have no clue what to do anymore

As the title says my girlfriend has a major phone addiction I’m talking on her phone 18 hours a day, can’t go to sleep without TikTok playing and on it the very minute she wakes up

I’ve tried many times to bring this up asking if there is something she needs help with and why she’s on it so much, but every time I just get dismissed and get told I’m overreacting about everything but it’s something that has really started to bother me. Does anyone have any advice for this, I love her very much and don’t want this to cause a big fight but im at a loss for what to do.

What should I do about my older brother who keeps making weird comments about me?

• Upvotes

I’ve been thinking about some comments my older brother has made about my appearance over the years. I’m genuinely curious whether this is normal sibling behavior or if I’m right to find it a little strange.
He’s always complimented my physical appearance, but sometimes he says things like, “I want my future wife to look like you,” or “Whoever marries you is going to be really lucky.”
One thing that particularly stood out to me was when he announced that he was getting engaged. None of us had known about the girl beforehand, so naturally, I started asking questions about her. Instead of just describing her, he kept comparing her physical features to mine, saying things like, “She’s your height” and “She has big eyes like you.”
It’s not just one isolated comment. He’s made these kinds of comparisons multiple times, especially when talking about what he finds attractive in a woman.
I honestly don’t know what to make of it. I’ve never really discussed this with anyone, and I don’t know if I’m overthinking something completely innocent.

My shift swap was approved in the app but my manager marked me as a no-show. How do I fix this before it sticks?

I (19M) work part-time at a grocery store, about 20 hours a week while I'm in community college. We use a scheduling app where you can post a shift, someone else picks it up, and then a manager approves it.

Two weeks ago I posted my Saturday 7am to 1pm shift because I had a family thing out of town. A coworker, Jada, picked it up on Wednesday. On Thursday the app showed it as "approved" with my manager's name next to it. I took a screenshot because I'm paranoid like that.

Saturday morning Jada overslept and didn't come in. My manager, Curtis, called me twice while I was on the highway, and on Monday I found out I'd been marked as a no-show. At my store, two no-shows and you're done.

I showed Curtis the screenshot. He said that once a swap is approved, the original person is "still responsible for making sure it's covered." Jada told me she'd tell him it was her fault, but I don't know if she did.

I like this job and I haven't been late once in eight months. I want to fix this without getting Jada in more trouble than she's already in.

What's the best way to bring this to someone above Curtis without it looking like I'm going over his head? Any wording would help a lot.

tl;dr: My Saturday shift swap was approved in the app, my coworker didn't show up, and my manager put the no-show on my record instead of hers.

EX texted 6 months after breakup

My ex broke up with me 6 months ago. It was a blindsided breakup and less than one week after the breakup, she put a guy's picture on one of her Spotify's albums (my fault for checking i know. I blocked her instantly after that). I travelled abroad to complete my studies two years ago so our relationship was mostly long-distance.

During our last call, she said "maybe when you come back home we can meet up". A week ago, she texted to ask me whether I was back home or not and I told her no because I decided to spend more time in the country im in right now (I did not tell her during our call that im staying because i had not decided yet). I then told her to throw away my gifts to which she replied with "I am not asking if you're back to give you back the gifts" I then replied "ok. Thank you for asking" and it ended there.

Our initial plan when we were still in the relationship was for me to head back home in May, talk to her parents and get engaged.

I know that there is a lot of missing pieces in the story, but overall, what do I do especially that I am still hurting from what happened, but at the same time, i want some closure, I want to give her a chance to apologize (although I know she does not owe me one. It's her life and her choices, but it would just make me feel more at ease with myself)?

I want to text her but I instantly deleted our chat after she saw my message and didn't reply.

TL;DR:

Ex texted back 6 months after breakup. I replied coldly. She left me on seen and I have been thinking about it since then.

Watched porn while connected to speaker

Just what the title says. To make it worse, I live in a hostel on the second floor of a somewhat busy restaurant. Finally got my room to myself, wanted to enjoy it and noticed I wasn’t hearing anything coming from my phone. I turned the volume up so loud that I could hear it in my room from the first floor. Everyone started laughing. I don’t know what to do and I have to be downstairs in front of everyone in 30 minutes. I’m so insanely embarrassed and a horrible liar. WHAT DO I DO 😭

A girl at my school wrote fanfic about me and submitted it into a play festival

I attend an arts high school that has a student-written play festival every year. To select the plays a panel of readers is chosen and without knowing the playwright we choose 4 plays to be executed and performed. For the past three years I've been on the reading panel and seen some interesting things but this is the only time I've ever encountered anything like this.

A couple of months ago a girl I had a handful of classes with but never spoke to approached me and told me she was writing a short film with a main character based on me. I thought this was weird as I knew virtually nothing about her but brushed it off and almost completely forgot about it. Then months later as I sat down with a friend to read a play submission about a love story between two highschoolers, things started to fall into place.

The friend I was reading it with told me that the aforementioned short film had fallen through and she was almost certain that the play we were reading was a slightly tweaked version of what it would have been. She also told me the same girl had approached her to tell her she was writing a short film with a main character based on her. As we read the play we became increasingly certain this play was based on us as personal details and hyper specific things about us popped up. Like I said we are both acquaintances at best with this girl. Things like our individual eye colors, shows we've been in, a necklace she always wears, headphones I never take off, monologues we've performed in class, extra curriculars we are apart of, our birth months, and even past relationships are present in this play. We both felt very confused and honestly somewhat violated reading it but of course knew there was no way to prove it was about us and this could all just be a crazy coincidence.

After school I went home and went through her highlights on Instagram in which she shares A LOT about her life and her writing. It was then I stumbled upon a Pinterest board on her account with my name, my style, and girls that look almost identical to me.

I approached her to ask if she submitted play and she immediately became uncomfortable, I asked her what it was about and she said she couldn't say before quickly changing the subject.

On Wednesday I need to meet with the panel to discuss these plays and I hate to say it but hers was one of the more well written pieces. Where the actual fuck do I go from here? This is starting to feel a bit like stalking and the last thing I need is for this play to be chosen and two people pretend to be me and my friend falling in love and getting married. I have no clue what to do because I'd sound like a self-absorbed madwoman telling this to the teacher supervisor. I don't want to start any rumors and I have no clue how I could explain this to the panel.

Moved back in with my mom, struggling to accept her new lifestyle

• Upvotes

I (26M) have recently moved back in with my mom (57F) to save some money. My father passed away a few years ago. I’m living in the basement for the time being. When I moved in she explained to me that she has taken up a new kind of lifestyle where she is very sex positive. She’s made friends with new people who are into having casual sex, and sometimes they do this at her house. I didn’t judge or anything, and in my mind figured it wouldn’t be a big deal, but now I feel differently.

She’s hosted some of these nights a few times now, and each time she’s only brought home one of her female friends, but several male friends. They get incredibly loud upstairs, and I can hear it even from the basement. It is incredibly awkward. I don’t know how to bring up how it makes me feel. Advice?

AITAH for no longer feeling attracted to my boyfriend after a conversation about opening up our relationship?

My boyfriend and I recently discussed the possibility of having a threesome with one of his close friend.

During our conversation, I repeatedly asked him if he was genuinely comfortable with the idea, especially since the third person would be someone he knew personally. Each time, he reassured me that he was comfortable with it. He even explained that he felt more comfortable with someone he knew rather than a stranger. I felt the same way, as I wouldn't want to do this with a stranger either.

We discussed the idea in quite a lot of detail, and he asked me several questions about a dream I had that involved a similar situation. Based on everything he said, I genuinely believed we were on the same page.

The next day, after thinking everything through, I told him that I wanted to move forward with it. That's when he told me he wasn't comfortable with the idea after all.

I immediately told him that it was completely fine and that we wouldn't do anything if he wasn't comfortable. I have no issue with respecting his boundaries, and I don't want him to agree to something he doesn't want.

However, I asked him why he hadn't told me how he really felt during our conversation the previous day, especially when I had repeatedly checked in with him. He told me that he wanted to see where I stood on the subject first.

That honestly made me feel manipulated. I had been open and honest with him about my thoughts, and he had encouraged the conversation by reassuring me that he was comfortable and asking me questions. I feel like I was being led to believe that we had reached a mutual understanding, only for him to reveal his actual feelings after I expressed that I was ready to proceed.

He also explained that he would have been okay with it if our relationship weren't leading toward marriage, but because he sees us getting married someday, he no longer wants to consider it.

To be clear, I am not upset that he changed his mind or that he doesn't want a threesome. I respect that completely, and nothing would happen unless we were both genuinely comfortable with it.

What has affected me is how the conversation unfolded. I repeatedly gave him opportunities to tell me how he felt, and I believed he was being honest with me. Now, I feel like I can't trust that he is telling me what he genuinely thinks when we discuss something important.

Since this happened, I've noticed that I don't feel as attracted to him anymore. It's not because he said no, but because the situation has changed how I perceive him and how safe I feel being vulnerable and honest with him.

So, AITA for losing attraction to my boyfriend because of how he handled this conversation, even though I completely respect his decision not to go through with the threesome?

Do I take my boss’ job if offered?

I’ve been an assistant for about 4 years now, I love it. I work a little under 40 hours but the flexibility as a single mom of 2 is amazing. The money is not great but currently a sacrifice to be able to be there for my kids in every aspect. My boss is a family member from my ex husband that I adore. She hired me and I’ve loved working with her. She’s been going through an illness now for a few years, I’m going to try to be as vague as possible. A few months ago she was arrested with dv against her ex husband. She kept her job until recently. I guess the ex contacted the very higher ups with her mugshot. They ultimately decided to fire her. She had a court date hoping that her charges would be dismissed but it was not. She’s now taking it trial in a few months. We (including her) that I would temporality step up while she waits. In the meantime I’ve been taking over and it has to not been easy whatsoever. I’m feeling overwhelmed and my afternoons have been taken over. I have a feeling that if her charges stick then I’ll be offered her job permanently. This job is all I know I have no other work experience, no degree. I have gotten a raise since taking over. I’m sick even considering accepting it, I know I’m getting ahead of myself but I want to be prepared for every outcome.
