I need help going NC

• Upvotes

I am in a very tough spot right now. One year post breakup and we are still in almost daily contact (which I recognise is much more my fault).

Long story short, I (F29) met my ex (M28) when we were 25 and 24 respectively. We were together for 3.5 years, during which we alternated between living together (2 years) and long distance (around 1 year) due to multiple job changes in both parts. We were always supporting each other in these changes and we used to joke that we were well-versed in both versions of the relationship but that the end goal was for us to find somewhere stable to live together.

A year ago, he left the country we were living together to go abroad for postgrad, while the plan was that I would soon join him. I truly supported this move, as I could feel his anxiety in the working situation he was back then. A month into the move, while I am visiting, he announces that he doesn't feel like himself anymore, he is not sure he is still in love, he is afraid he is too depended on me and that he hasn't explored his single life and how to be self-regulated and self-reliant enough (he has been in back-to-back long relationships since 18, while it was my first truly serious one and I had lived abroad and by myself a couple of times before meeting him).

To say it came out of the blue to me is an understatement. It was rough, took me more than a month to properly digest it and the worst part probably was that we kept supporting each through the pain of the breakup. It took us more than four months and an actual breakdown from my side to actually go NC.

Then, a couple months in NC he starts coming back into my life. It started slowly, I was still not over him, so I entertained it even though I was deep into my healing journey.

Then nine months after the BU we met again and the sparks were still there. We spent a month in what I can only described as a situationship, where he expressed strong feelings still being there and I actually laid down the rules of what it would mean to get back together. He wasn't as sure about it and mentioned that the issues leading up to the BU are still there for him and that he feels he has not done enough of the work needed.

A smarter person would have let it be, but, always the optimist, I tried being emotionally available and supportive, because I truly care about him and his presence in my life was giving me the emotional support I needed.

That was two months ago and now it's where I need the help. We are still in a grey zone where we communicate for different issues and I know I am the one that carries the beginning of conversations the most. I am dating casually and I know he is seeing someone else as well. When I learnt that it almost destroyed me. The idea he could be ready for another relationship and not wanting to be with me after everything he said to me is killing me. Yet, I still kept the contact on.

I know I need to stop using him as a way to regulate my emotions and I need people with similar experiences of long break-ups to give me advice on how to actually go NC. I see it as the only way out of the mess of it all.

TL/DR: LTR ended after 3,5 years and led to a year long break-up/situationship. Advice on how to actually go NC and stop using him as emotional support is appreciated.

I just sent this

• Upvotes

It was just over a week after the final straw. My first ever "planned" one night stand. Tacky maybe, but we both had our reasons and it was only ever supposed to be a one night stand. He texted me the next day and I thought he liked me and things got confused because I really liked him. We enjoyed each other's company sometimes but I couldn't keep my emotions out of it like we both wanted, so I kept trying to back out. Neither us were emotionally in the right place for anything like that. I was not long out of a relationship and still trying to get over it. He was just out of a marriage and seemed to just want to sleep around.

The letter kind of explains what happened at the end. He did lead me on, but likewise I could never stick to my word about leaving it be. It felt sometimes like we were getting closer, but then he told me he slept with someone else. It felt like he was giving me a choice "like it or lump it". I couldn't and the resentment built up. He was pretty cruel at the end, although I don't know whether that was deliberate or not. i couldn't tell if he was trying to get rid of me or just testing the boundaries to see what he could get away with. I lost my cool and he blocked me.

if I don't change my go-to places, I will see him around. I don't want to have to change my habits and I don't want to worry about seeing him. I have seen him and it was horrible , because we both pretended not to have seen the other. I hate the ill feeling and just hoped to get on with my life without feeling bad, but i felt bad for my behaviour because I had broken the rules and so I sent this:

"FWIW I am so sorry I blew up at you. You did the right thing for both of us. Much as I wished it, I knew I couldn't stay friends with you any more than a chocoholic can stay "friends" with a bar of Dairy Milk. Probably no need, but the creature you knew has a classic way of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, just to be sure. Belt and braces. Try not to be angry.

I have never broadcast what happened and I never will. Wishing you well in all your new beginnings. This really is the last you'll hear from me. I've spliced those particular weeks out of my life now and I'll just keep the good bits in a memory box somewhere. Happy hunting! 😉

Love, {insert joke name I first gave him} xx"

Is it too embarrassing?

Help Lost myself completely in an on-and-off relationship. Now that it’s over, the guilt and emptiness are hitting hard.

• Upvotes

I recently got out of a turbulent, on-and-off relationship that lasted about a year. We had multiple breakups and frequent heavy arguments. In the end, he completely shut down, walked away, and blocked me everywhere.

While we were together, I fell into a complete freeze response. I was constantly anxious about where we stood, waiting for his messages, and completely neglected my studies, daily routines, and personal goals. I stopped functioning and felt like a shell of myself.

Now that it’s over, I feel a strange sense of relief that the daily anxiety and eggshell-walking have stopped. But at the same time, the grief and self-blame are overwhelming. I keep blaming myself for not being stronger, more disciplined, or more "capable" while we were together, thinking that my inability to get my life together pushed him away.

A part of me still misses having someone to confide in and wants to reach out in a couple of months once the dust settles, while another part knows I need to learn how to rely on myself from scratch.

For those who have been here:

How do you stop blaming yourself for falling apart when the dynamic itself was draining you?

How did you start rebuilding your self-worth and daily life when you completely forgot who you were outside the relationship?

Any grounded advice or shared experiences would mean a lot right now.

Vent Can’t stop thinking

2 months ago, my ex texted me after one and a half years of no contact. We talked for 2 weeks and blocked eachother. In that time he told me that the song lovefool by The Cardigans reminded me to him. Well I didn’t pay attention to the lyrics of the song until today. I know he unblocked me and I kinda do want to talk to him but I know I shouldn’t.

Situationship

Hello, i am really curious to open up to this platform but i know you guys are smart and incredible in terms of life advise manifestation.

The start point:
I have been in a situationship almost 3 months. Before this situation, i clearly stated him that i am not capable to love back like i can’t visualize men in my life until he came to my world and investing too much for me. He loves to send foods, stuff and game fragments. Every time he reminded me and asking if i am ready for commitment, i genuinely feel something i can’t afford which is to love him back. I always push him back but i never want him to feel like i only do that because just to make it him granted. Knowing that i always praised him and appreciated his efforts.

The breaking point:
Until he found someone, without formal leaving, without formal goodbye. I cried a lot because i was the one who discover it out until he changed his profile picture. A picture of him and his girl generated through AI. I asked him the clarity about the girl and confirmed it was his new one. For me, i have no right to call it a cheating because he is not my boyfriend or having the labels. But it hurts me so much and crushed every piece of me.

The realization and after shock:
What is most concerning is that, all his kindness flashbacks to me everywhere even in my work shift. I totally feel like devastated in the first week of shit because of effort that i grieve all the time. Then after few days of no contact, he messaged me a such words of affirmation and a letter of goodbye. After a few days he demands me to unblock him because he has a lot of questions to ask until i realize he reaching out of me just to criticize me about the love that i never reciprocated and he feels like i was taking him for granted. In myself i know that i am a girl who always tried to force myself to love him and i did my best to do everything to fall in love with him but i failed. Today, i missed him so much even i set boundary. Having this situationship is so hard for me to make wise decision with entangled emotions. I enter in a new relationship but i feel like a stuck and running in the wheel. I still care about him every single day. Maybe this is a love? Or the effort that i grief? Or is it consequences? I don’t want to him back to my life because i don’t want to hurt him anymore. Knowing that I am the problem in this entire situationship. I want to live in a new normal with this kind of version of myself.

The question:
If you were me, what would be the best actions to do so? I am interested to hear your thoughts about this. Thank you

No contact unfollowed me and I reached out

Before reading this post, I would like to mention I really felt for this guy and I did not want any regrets so I texted him after all that went down. Any guy I have ever been involved with hasn't been this cold. Whenever something happens I see him going silent on me, this is so odd because I genuinely have never seen another guy act this way towards me.

This guy (25M) and I (21F) have been involved with eachother on and off for 2 years, who had confessed love to me. We had conflicts and there were times where he has blocked me, unblocked when i reached out and denied blocking and said he deactivated

We have had multiple fallouts, 4 months ago we talked and he again asked for reassurance that im all his, the night went well
Next day, he texted me hey baby and I noticed him delete it because I could not respond despite seeing the text on my notification bar (I was busy). He then texted me again after 2 days, it went well he was affectionate he asked to see me after sending a snap of him and I interpreted he wanted something intimate so I told him I don't think I can do that, he said hes not asking for my nudes, and said not to worry. He still wanted to see me and I sent him regular photos. He heavily complimented me calling me his girl but i just said hahah thank uu
he did not talk to me for 5 days and he texted and I was not personal with him rather i was being neutral. I had fallen asleep mid conversation and texted the next day im sorry i fell asleep
He then again replied to my story and complimented my top and i only replied with 'i knoww'
he left me on read a week after
after this we did not talk for 4 months but he used to watch my stories pretty quickly as i appeared first on his tray. On a weekend he removed me from his instagram after 4 months, this really hurt me

So I reached out after 2 days and let him know that I thought about him and thought we would still talk

I am sure he read it but did not open my message.
This is basic decency on his part, but it's okay. I just wonder why he is so cold at times.

Should I text my ex?

This was my first ever relationship. me and my ex boyfriend were a long distance couple. He's in the navy and before he got deployed we were stable, happy and healthy. Months went by and I found myself struggling with codependency and loneliness from not being able to talk to him. It was hard to manage I reached out to my therapist for help. although I was afraid to tell my ex how I felt I stayed strong and kept it pushing with school and working. I started parting, smoking & drinking almost every night to help cope with the loneliness and codependency I never really leaned on anyone for help, & while I was out I always made it clear about me being in a relationship no matter who tried to get at me.

One day my sister & I planned a movie night with her two guy friends. She told one of the guys that it'll be a double date but I immediately called him myself to tell him that it wouldn’t be and after that we all went to the movies and it was strictly friendly and he made no advances at me I didn't also so I didn’t have to tell him off. before we dropped them both off we all talked about relationships and I made it clear that I was happy, in a committed relationship and in love. The guy that we went to the movies with I knew him guy for years not on a personal level but he met my bf my niece and my friends so I seen him like family & We continued texting but it was friendly just talked about our day and talked about our family. It was never flirty I always sent my bf updates and notes about my day and whoever I was hanging with my bf had my location.

During my bfs deployment I spent time with my guy manager who's (25) with my homrgirls and sometimes 1on1 our bond was like brother and sister he respected my relationship and he never crossed a boundary with me ever so I felt like it was ok to be friends with a guy as long as it’s safe and a I have boundaries with them with no intentions of cheating o and betraying my partner. One night I told my sister that I was tired of sleeping alone at the house that we were staying in it made me restless & she asked if I wanted to go to one of our guy friends house I told her yea but I won't be staying cause there was no need for me to I just wanted to get out of the house. She took me over there and me and the guy talked no cuddling no kissing nun of that. I was otp with my cousin the whole 30 mins then I left to go to my homegirl house since I was able to go over. I blocked the guy friend that night cause I felt uncomfortable with being friends with him I think that was my discernment speaking but I ignored it. Days pass & one night I was leaving from the club and I was very drunk but I still made my way over there to pick up my pjs worse mistake ever. I was otp w my bf while I was otw over there but my phone had died. I asked to use the guys charger so my bf could track me I ended up laying down cause the room was spinning and I started feeling sick from the alcohol. I got sa’d that night and ever since then the relationship went down hill. I sent my bf every message and was truthful with him the entire time now I'm in therapy for sa and a breakup lol but I learned from this relationship about boundaries, trust, respect, immaturity communication and i honestly just wanted to tell someone. I’m struggling right now and I wish I could talk to him and communicate with him.

Great news The breakup made me see some things. I'm unlovable. It feels freeing.

Well, what more to start than in childhood?

Kids would exclude me, bullied me for no reason. How much I was excluded? To the point I never wanted to study anymore. Even my teacher did.

As a teenager? Same thing. People would exclude me, made me do bad things to laugh at me. Ignored often, when I was sad people didn't care but a random kid suddenly everyone scooped to their aid.

Friends? I now notice it now. Practically none loved me. None liked me or cared. They just went along with me because I gave them answers or was easy to talk to.

My ex gf was the same. She never really loved me. She would exclude me from her life, friend activities, would go silent for days, never do anything, always preferring friends...

Now at university I see that literally nobody really wants to talk to me. School projects with me? THEY NEVER SEND ME ANY TEXT TO DO THINGS. What??? Fine then. I asked someone if I can enter their group, they didn't do anything to put me in. They only would if the teacher forced them.

Thank you very much my ex, I now see the truth. I'm unlovable.

Encouragement Tell them Happy Birthday

I’m sorry unless yall broke up because of abuse, serial cheating or theft, tell that person happy birthday.

It doesn’t have to be long or thoughtful, just a simple happy birthday text.

Not to sound tone deaf but life is too short to have too much pride to not tell the person you once loved, shared a connection with, shared a genuine bound with and many more, happy birthday. You never know if they’ll make it to their next birthday and you’ll be sorry if that happens.

It shouldn’t be anything long. Just a simple happy birthday and move on. And if they don’t tell you it back on your birthday, that’s when you stop doing it.

Help He apologized at 3 AM then re-followed the same girls right after

Hi everyone, I really need to vent and maybe get some perspective because my brain is fried.

My partner was ambiguous with a few girls and some friends on social media, which completely shattered my trust. We had a serious talk about it, and he was supposed to unfollow them to respect our boundaries and help rebuild things.

Last night, at 3 AM, after days of tension, he sent me long, deeply emotional messages. He was taking full accountability, saying he finally understood my pain, that he couldn't forgive himself, and that we both needed space and time to figure things out without pressure. It sounded very mature and sincere.

Fast forward literally a couple of hours later, right after our conversation ended: I noticed he went right back and re-followed the exact same girls that were the issue in the first place.

I am in complete shock at the disconnect between what he says in moments of emotional panic and his actual actions. I'm not planning to start a fight or text him about it—I'm choosing to stay silent, observe, and use this as pure, objective data. But it feels so dizzying and exhausting.

Has anyone else experienced this "nighttime epiphany vs. morning relapse" cycle? How did you protect your peace and move past the disgust/disappointment?

Will he break contact ? How long should i wait?

John and I had an amazing connection from day one, with incredible chemistry and attraction. We spoke daily for about two months, and although we never officially became boyfriend and girlfriend, he repeatedly assured me he wasn’t interested in anyone else. He knew I wanted a serious relationship built on loyalty, and he told me he liked me and wanted to take things slowly.

Before leaving New York for a work trip along the East Coast to Florida, he started becoming distant. Less texts, slower replies, less of “i miss you” less of everything. When I asked if everything was okay, he explained that he was overwhelmed with work and that there were too many unknowns surrounding his trip and my recent divorce. I’m completely over my marriage and ready to move on btw. I was very communicative about my 1 and only ex, that i left cuz he cheated and he knows i have only 1 body too. Which he said was a good thing.

I told him I felt like I was the only one making an effort and was disappointed because we had Halloween plans and even matching outfits. He replied, “It’s not that I’ve meant to be in this situation, my life is very chaotic and I’m not saying those plans won’t happen if we still wanted to do that :( I have feelings for you.”

I didn’t respond because it felt like rejection. It’s now been 10 days since our last conversation. I miss him deeply, love him, and hope we can reconnect. He recently liked my Instagram picture and continues watching my stories, but we haven’t spoken. We also still have each others location

Do you think he’ll reach out when he returns to New York? and that maybe we can start over and eventually have a solid relationship? I need some hope, but I’m afraid that his pulling away after I asked for reassurance means he’s lost interest.

Help Ex of 13 years selling my personal belongings on Vinted without asking me

My ex and I were together for 13 years. He ended our relationship in May after I became extremely unwell with my on going chronic illness. Was in hospital I’m now predominantly bedbound, and my health deteriorated so severely that I was hospitalised and became suicidal. It’s a long and complicated story, but ultimately he said he couldn’t cope anymore and left.

We were civil for a while after the breakup with texts, but he’s since become completely avoidant and wants nothing to do with me. I sent him a long, heartfelt WhatsApp message a few months ago explaining how I felt, which he read and never replied to. He’s blocked me on Instagram but not WhatsApp.
Anyway, I’ve just discovered that he’s listed some of my personal belongings on Vinted — including lingerie, bras and heels I used to wear for him when we were together.
He hasn’t even bothered to message me to ask whether I wanted my things back. He’s just photographed them and put them up for sale for a couple of pounds.
The thing is, I don’t even want the items back. It’s the principle. We were together for 13 years. Surely the decent thing would’ve been to ask me first? If I had his personal belongings, I wouldn’t dream of selling them without asking him.
He’s also blocked me on Vinted, so I assume he thinks I can’t see his listings, but I can.
I’m genuinely shocked and hurt by how cold and avoidant he’s become. I’ve done nothing to deserve being treated like this, especially after everything I’ve been through with my health.
What would you do in my situation? Would you send a short message asking why he’s selling your belongings without permission, or would you maintain no contact and leave it alone?
I’m worried he’ll just ignore me or block me if I say anything, but I’m also really angry that he thinks this is acceptable.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar with an ex?

Why does my ex have me unblocked everywhere if he wants nothing to do with me?

My ex recently unblocked me on every platform after months of back-and-forth, blocking, and mixed signals. We were together for a year and a half, and I’m still struggling to process everything that happened.
When I tried talking to him, he told me to “shut the fuck up” and made it clear he didn’t want to talk. I asked him if he still loved me, and he flat-out refused to answer.
I understand that being unblocked doesn’t mean he wants to reconcile, and I know I need to respect his boundaries. But I can’t help feeling confused about why he would reopen those lines of communication just to treat me with such hostility.
I’m not expecting him to get back together with me. I just wish I could understand why someone who once loved me so much now treats me like I’m nothing.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Why would an ex keep you unblocked but act like they absolutely despise you?

Help No sintió nada?

I'm not jealous of her. I'm disgusted by him.

I found out he’s talking to another girl, and he’s already using the exact same phrase he used to tell me all the time. And he’s still in contact with her. I don’t know how to explain what that makes me feel, but it has absolutely nothing to do with jealousy. I don’t want him back. I don’t want her place. I don’t want anything from him. It’s pure disgust. The thought of him taking words that once meant something to me and handing them to another girl like they were never special in the first place makes me fucking sick.

It’s the hypocrisy, the audacity, the way he can move around like none of it ever happened. Like he didn’t make me believe in him, like he didn’t make promises, like he didn’t leave me with all this fucking damage while he gets to carry on with his life and repeat the same bullshit to someone else. And what makes it worse is knowing the kind of people surrounding him. People who watched, people who knew enough, people who still stand by him as if none of it matters. A bunch of fucking hypocrites.

My hatred keeps growing, and honestly, it scares me how little sympathy I have left for any of them. I hate him. I hate what he represents to me now. I hate that someone I once admired so much has become someone I can barely think about without feeling physically sick. And I hate that all this anger is still inside me, taking up space that he doesn’t fucking deserve.

I don’t wish death on him or any of those people. That’s too cruel, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. But I genuinely hope life gives them exactly the kind of misery they deserve. I hope they experience disappointment, betrayal, loneliness, and the kind of pain that makes them question everything they thought they could trust. I hope they learn what it feels like to be left picking up the pieces while the person who hurt them carries on as if they never mattered.

I want them to live with the consequences of who they are. I want life to humble them in ways I never could. I want them to lose the comfort of believing they’re good people just because they’ve never had to face what they’ve done to someone else.

Maybe this much hatred makes me a bitter person. Maybe it makes me ugly on the inside. Right now, I honestly don’t fucking care. I’m tired of trying to be understanding toward people who have given me every reason not to be. I’m tired of swallowing my anger to make everyone else comfortable.

I don’t miss him. I don’t want him. I just fucking hate him. And I hate that he gets to exist in my memories as someone I once trusted, when now all I feel toward him is contempt.

My bpd ex unblocked me

So here's the story I was going through a messy end of a longterm relationship situation and meet this girl with bpd.

At first it was supposed to be casual but hanging out was cool.

We end up talking about being exclusive but I can tell she's moving weird so I ended up sleeping with my ex well breaking it off with her pretty bad. She tells bpd girl and we date for a month.

Eventually I finally catch bpd girl cheating which hey makes since karma and what not but here's the thing.

She saids she's gonna block me out of respect for new dude and end im like ok do your thing she the begs me to stay and keep things the same on the low

Unsure how to take this i agree then she finally blocks me for real

then she unblock me occasionally and blocks me again 4 times

Now im just unblocked and confused

I haven't said anything to or blocked her to avoid weirdness just made my account private im so confused

all advice welcomed

No contact for over two months and she messages me on Saturday night. However I only seen it today and by that time she had deleted it.

I replied to say 'message deleted?' She left thar message on read

I would like to know what she messaged me and why. Should I text again or just not bother? Part of me really wants to let off some steam and tell her how angry I am.

I don't know what kind of game she thinks she is playing bur it's immature to say the least.

My (20F) first love (20M) and I have been through multiple breakups, and I don’t know how to let go

I’m 20F, and my ex is 20M. We dated for two years, starting the summer before senior year of high school. He wasn’t my first relationship, but he was my first and only boyfriend. Our first year together was genuinely great. We rarely argued, communicated well, balanced time together with our own friends and activities, and made each other really happy.
Things started getting difficult during our freshman year of college. He had some trust issues from being cheated on in a previous relationship, and he also felt he hadn’t spent enough time single working on himself before dating me. We tried to work through things, but he broke up with me in February.
After a week of no contact, he told me he regretted the breakup but didn’t want to get back together until he’d worked on himself. We agreed to be friends, but things gradually became like dating again, and he officially asked me to be his girlfriend in May. Unfortunately, when school started again, our problems returned, and we broke up a second time in September.
After about a month of no contact, we reconnected and became friends with benefits. That ended in December after a party where I felt he was done with me. I started talking to another guy for a couple of months, but that ended too. My ex eventually showed up at my door and apologized for the ways he’d hurt me. I appreciated his apology, but I was scared of getting hurt again and wasn’t ready to try again.
We slowly started talking more as friends, hanging out, and discussing our past. Looking back, I realize I was still very hurt and sometimes brought up the past in ways that hurt him rather than helped us heal.
In July, I asked for no contact because he was struggling emotionally, and I didn’t want to hold him back. He kept saying he wanted to be with me, but I was afraid he’d change his mind again, and I said some hurtful things when we stopped talking. After a month, my stepdad was in the hospital and might not survive, so I reached out to my ex for comfort. We saw each other, but by the end of that conversation, it seemed like he’d accepted that we might not get back together and wanted to focus on himself. That’s when I realized how badly I wanted to be with him.
We went back to no contact until my birthday, when he wished me happy birthday. We later saw each other at a football game, and things felt awkward. I apologized for the ways I’d hurt him, and he told me I needed to move on because he knew how painful it was to hold on.
I genuinely regret the ways I hurt him, especially when he was already struggling, and I sometimes feel like I ruined our chance of being together. I still love him and feel like he’s my person. Part of me believes we’ll find our way back to each other someday, but another part of me knows I need to move on because I’m crying constantly, getting headaches, and feeling sick to my stomach.
Everyone tells me I’m only 20 and have my whole life ahead of me, but that honestly makes me sad because it feels like more time I’ll have to spend without him. I know I can’t make him want to be with me, and I don’t want to keep hurting either of us, but I don’t know how to let go of the hope that we’ll end up together.
I’m looking for honest, unbiased advice. Am I holding on to something I need to let go of? Is there any realistic chance of reconciliation after everything we’ve been through, or do I need to accept that this chapter is over? How do I move forward when I still love him this much?

To the person fighting the urge..

To the dumpee with a broken heart that’s fighting the urge to reach out, Keep fighting. I know every part of your heart wants to send that text or social media message. You’re trying to convince yourself that you have to send it for closure, and you keep asking yourself “maybe if I send one last text it will make them understand or miss me.” Or maybe you’re telling yourself it will be your final goodbye message. But, that’s not the case. I’m going to hold your hand when I say this, but they know what they lost. They know how to contact you. They are choosing not to, because they don’t want to. And you shouldn’t either. By not texting or reaching out, not only are you respecting no contact, but you’re also respecting and choosing yourself. You’re worth so much more than that relationship. I don’t care what you did or how the relationship ended, you are worth more and you deserve more. Stop convincing yourself that your value is tied to what that person thinks of you or if that person wants you in their life. The fact that no contact is hurting you this bad is proof your love was real. I know some of you have also been ghosted by no contact and you’re just trying to make sense of it, but you won’t. You can’t understand it, because your heart isn’t built to do that to someone. Don’t let your pain cloud how beautiful of a person that makes you, because it says way more about your character than theirs. Let whatever last conversation or impression you left on them be enough. Letting them go does not mean your love wasn’t real. It means that you’re finally choosing yourself and the ones that choose you. I know it’s easier said than done, but please for your own mental health - let them go.

Your healing begins when you stop expecting their silence to turn into an explanation.

And as corny as it sounds I am going to quote one of my favorite movies of all times. :

“Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it’s the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that the next time you find yourself at a beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will.”

Help My ex broke up with me 6.5 months ago and recently blocked me on both Instagram accounts. Why would she do this?

Hey everyone, I need some honest perspectives because I'm still confused about my breakup.

My girlfriend broke up with me on April 2, 2026. What's confusing is that around two weeks before the breakup, she seemed really into me. She wanted to talk to me a lot and acted like she was crazy about me. Then, just two weeks later, she ended the relationship.

It's been around six and a half months since the breakup. We haven't had any contact during this time, and I haven't tried reaching out to her. However, I found out that she has blocked me on both of her Instagram accounts, even though she still uses them.

I don't understand why she would block me months after the breakup when we weren't even interacting. Did something change, or does she simply want to move on completely?

To be honest, a part of me still wishes she would unblock me, reach out, and apologize for how things ended. I don't know if that's just me looking for closure or hoping she'll eventually realize how much she hurt me.

I'm not trying to contact her or interfere with her life. I just want to understand this situation and hear from people who have experienced something similar.

My questions are:

Why would an ex block you months after a breakup when there has been zero contact?

How can someone seem so interested in you and then break up with you two weeks later?

Have any of your exes ever blocked you long after the breakup? What was the reason, if you eventually found out?

Am I holding on to false hope by wishing she would come back and apologize?

Please be honest with me. I want genuine perspectives, not just reassurance.
