Discussion Maybe the best knife no one ever talks about. And quickly becoming my favorite Cold steel FM-1

• Upvotes

Recently found out about this knife and I can’t understand why no one ever mentions this knife. Seriously one of my favorite knives to carry. It’s super slicy thin and lightweight. Absolute perfection from cold steel who I never would have guessed made a knife like this.

Hey, knife lovers!

I got this puukko knife from a friend of mine in exchange for help i gave him. Since im still a beginner in terms of knifes i'm deeply interested about your oppinion about this piece. It was made by an awarded baldesmith in Hungary ( Szántó Szabolcs ) . I want to know exactly what materials could it be made out of and i see some (possibly) weather marks. How can i remove it from the tip of the blade?

Also im open for conversation about anything in terms of the knife.

Thank you for reading my post🙏

Question Is this wootz?

I bought this knife from an estate sale. The deceased gentleman had many bayonets and literature to support it, some basic hunting stuff and a few pattern Damascus knives. This one stood out for some reason. It’s definitely someone’s custom work. I can’t find a makers mark or anything.

Can anyone identify the style or speculate whether or not this is wootz? It’s got a very fine pattern to it.

I have the option to pick up a blade show exclusive Pallas for $350. Do you think it’s worth the price? I think there was like only 85 or somthing made. What’re your thoughts?

I think I keep them with a vague idea that just in case something happened I could get more if I decided to sell any but storage is getting to be an issue. If you guys keep yours, where do you store them

I love Hinderers! Over the years, I’ve purchased seven and kept these five in my collection. I have one more special one arriving next week. I managed to score a super limited-edition Rick Hinderer XM-18 Grim Reaper featuring a black stonewashed MagnaCut recurve blade, full-titanium graphite DLC handle, intricate Grim Reaper engravings, custom scythe pocket clip, and bead-blasted titanium hardware. An absolute Halloween masterpiece!! 🔥🔪

Question 1920's Guam Souvenir/Hunting Knife

Thumbnail

This is what I assume to be a 1920s US Navy(?) bring-back from Guam. At least that's all the information that's hand etched into the sheath. Working for a charity organization that would love to sell it, but I can't find any similar knives online. Any ideas about authenticity or value? Thanks!

  1. I was 8 years old and my dad bought one of these for me from the back of Boy's Life magazine. It's hot garbage, but the nostalgia nearly killed me. Mine got destroyed because I was an idiot kid, but I found this one in a pawn shop for $10 last week and immediately snapped it up. I will put it in a place of honor, because this was the first. This was the start.
