Mod Post Update to self promotion rule

Hello all, after quite some time I have decided to reevaluate, the old rule preventing sales posts and self-promotion. The rationale behind the change is that the makers will benefit from community support. There has been hesitation to change the rule based on the idea that sales post will run rampant if allowed; however, I have some requests in exchange for those who want to post a link to their website.

All criteria must be met.

  1. Items for sale have to be made by you.
  2. There is a detailed specification list for the item being displayed. you can find an example here, does not have to be as in depth; however, at a minimum you have to have steel type(s) and handle material(s). Simply stating damascus will not be enough for future posts.
  3. Only knives and supplies related to knife making can be sold. You can sell knives, handles, scales, or handle materials. As a reminder, you cannot sell items that are not made by you; you cannot sell a bench grinder here.
  4. There is no price displayed. Pricing cannot be discussed in public whatsoever.
  5. You must be active in the post you make. You cannot just drop your website link and disappear. I am not asking that you respond to every comment on your post or that you reply to a comment on a month-old post; however, some effort must be put in.

There are a few additional limitations to this change

  1. Do not put "available" or anything of the likes in your title. All indications of your work being for sale must be in the description or comments, I suggest the latter as I will remove your entire post if you do not meet the above criteria if it is in the description rather than just deleting a comment
  2. Your posts should not all be advertisements; you should show off your work without all your posts having a link to your website.

I hope that this change to the rule is favorable, if you have feedback or comments, I would like to hear it and may make changes accordingly.

AEB-L stainless with golden Acacia wood, stainless spacer, and aged brass bolster. These heirloom fit handles are tricky but I love how they look and feel! I mostly stick with gyuto blade shapes these days, so it was fun to mix it up with a western style.

Another knife leaves my workshop.
I took 6mm or 15/64 inch thick 80CrV2, combined it with stabilised ancient bog oak, a red G10 liner, and carbon fiber pins.
Ground it to a really thin edge, and in the end, the customer said he loves the knife so much that he will only use it to cut watermelons.
Kinda funny imho.

Work in progress Can anyone tell me what this pebble looking finish on my knife is?

80CRV2 build, and I’m trying to do the final polish and sand. There is a pebble finish in some places on my blade. Trying to sand through it, but it’s taking some time and I don’t understand why the finish is different in certain places. Is this a byproduct of the heat treat process or some defect in the steel?

I have a knife a friend made with a slight lingering smell (he used an acid, I don't remember which), and I blued my spear and the guard and pommel of my with some gun blue- all seem to have a slight lingering sulphur smell. Any good way to neutralize it?

Question Amateur looking to replace this handle with wood

Have this old knife I’d like to replace the handle with something more ergonomic with no finger grooves. Has anyone done this and would you recommend grinding down the grooves or simply putting a handle around it?

Feedback I made my first mod: Bluegrass Blades, 38 knife variants for B42

Hey everyone, I've been playing a lot of B42 and wanted more variety in knives, so I made my first mod.

It adds 5 knife types (Bowie, Fillet, Folder, Trapper and Balisong) in 38 variants. Each knife has a grade that sets its stats (Military, Sporting, Handmade, Knockoff), plus a handle and a blade finish. Knockoffs dull pretty fast, Military ones hold up. Finishes go from plain satin to rare Temper Color and Damascus.

You can also forge Fillet, Bowie and Damascus blades with Blacksmithing and put together your own handmade knives. They use the vanilla models with new textures, and I tried to keep the balance close to vanilla.

I tested it on 42.21 in single player. I haven't tried multiplayer yet, so if you run it on a server I'd love to hear how it goes.

Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3820010936

Feedback and bug reports are very welcome. A proper Kukri with its own model is next on my list.
