Success Story Success Story Mega Thread - Got your BFP? We want to hear about it!

This is your space to share your success story with the community that cheered you on. Whether it took you 1 cycle or 12, your story matters and someone out there needs to hear it right now.

When sharing please include anything you feel comfortable with such as how many cycles it took, what you were tracking, what worked for you, and anything you wish you had known at the start.

When sharing your story feel free to use this format:

  • Cycles it took:
  • What I tracked/tools:
  • What I think helped:
  • Anything I wish I knew at the start:
  • Any advice for others still in the TWW:
  • A few things to keep in mind:

This thread is for everyone who has been trying for any length of time. All success stories are valid here, whether cycle 1 or cycle 12+. Please be kind and keep any negative thoughts to yourself.

Please don't tag other users in your post. You can absolutely thank people, just don't tag them directly. This keeps the thread comfortable for everyone, including those who may find BFP posts difficult to see.

If you have nothing kind to add, please scroll on.

Comments that are unkind or gatekeeping will be removed.

Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter! 🌸

Hey everyone! A few quick updates from the mod team šŸ’›

Nothing major, just some housekeeping to make the sub easier to navigate for everyone. Thanks in advance for bearing with us!

  • Flairs got a refresh — We updated the post flairs, so please use them when you post! It just makes it way easier for people to scroll and find exactly what they're looking for (or avoid what they're not in the mood for). If you feel like we're missing one, drop a comment or shoot us a message, we're always open to suggestions.
  • BFPs go in the megathread — We've got a pinned Success Stories megathread and we'd love for all the exciting news to live there so we can celebrate together in one spot!
  • Discharge pics need a trigger warning — If you're posting about discharge and want to add a pic, please use the Trigger Warning flair, blur the image, and pop it in the comments rather than the main post. Small thing, but it keeps the feed comfy for everyone scrolling.
  • Line eyes? We've got you, but keep pics in the comments — We all know that feeling of staring at a test way too long trying to decide if that's a line or a shadow. Totally normal, no judgment! Just use the "Line Eyes - Help!" flair and keep the pictures in the comments instead of the post itself. Reason being, when posts get flooded with test pics, it can be harder for yours (and everyone else's) to actually get seen and get the support you need. This just helps spread the love around a bit better

Just a heads up: posts that don't follow the line eyes or discharge picture guidelines will be removed, so we really appreciate you helping us keep this consistent for everyone.

Thanks so much for helping us keep this space easy to use and kind, as always. Questions or ideas? Drop them below, we read everything!

Success Story Our first positive with PCOS/PMOS

Post image
11 Upvotes

We found out yesterday! I am 12 days DPO. As you can see the lines were so faint that I thought I would just try the digital and was shocked when it was actually able to detect it. We conceived on our 4th cycle, lucky I know. But I wanted to provide maybe some hope for anyone with PCOS/PMOS starting their journey or on their journey. To preface this, I was diagnosed 3 years ago and have spent the last 3 years making every lifestyle change to give myself the best chance to live symptom free and reversing the symptoms of PCOS. My cycles are now regular without ever taking birth control. If you’re looking for the basics on this 40g protein and max 30 carbs for each meal and always pairing carbs with protein. If I wanted a carby snack, I always grabbed a Fairlife protein shake from the fridge to have with it, following this was the biggest game changer and allowed me to lose 40+ pounds.

Now, my sisters and mom were all super lucky and conceived on their first try with each of their kids. So knowing I had PCOS and while I only had 3 cycles not work it was still disappointing and I didn’t know what my journey would look like. I feel so blessed to be pregnant and that my TTC journey was relatively short, but when starting my journey I felt like I either saw people who conceived on the first try or the people who were years into their journeys.

I’d also like to add, I did try mucinex this cycle and well I am pregnant! So was it the mucinex, idk but it’s worth the try!

I’ve been tracking with FAM to avoid pregnancy for a while but finally beginning to TTC this cycle/next cycle. Going to fully try LH strips next cycle, but TTC is new - do we feel like sex tonight would still be viable for implantation or too late?

Question/Advice Did I use this LH strip wrong?

Post image

First time using one of these and it looks…off. I followed the directions about not soaking past the ā€œmaxā€ line, but why does it look all blown out and wrinkled like a full diaper? And the control line is so faint, is this just a faulty test?

Help Pregnancy test after hsg

My bf and I have been ttc for about 8 months with no luck. I recently had all my bloodwork done and everything looked fine. I did an hsg on the 13th of October and both tubes were open. The doctor cleared us to try again this cycle noting that our chances would have increased because of the hsg. We had sex on the 11, 13th and 14th (ovulation test confirmed I ovulated on the 14th). Today is the 22nd and the waiting period is killing me. Is it too early for me to test? I should be about 8dpo.

Frustrated Title: CD32, negative pregnancy test, but dark LH test? Has anyone experienced this with Hashimoto’s?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!
I’m 27 years old, have hypothyroidism/Hashimoto’s, and my husband and I are currently on our third month of trying to conceive.
I’m currently on cycle day 32 with absolutely no signs of my period starting. I took a pregnancy test this morning, and it was negative. Just out of curiosity, I decided to take an ovulation test, and the line was surprisingly dark, although not quite as dark as the control line. I’ll attach a picture!
According to Flo, I should have ovulated around October 9, but I didn’t track or confirm ovulation this month.
What’s confusing me is that this is the second cycle where something similar has happened. I’m not sure if I’m ovulating later than expected, if my hormones are fluctuating, or if this is something other women with Hashimoto’s have experienced.
I know an LH test isn’t a pregnancy test, but I’m just confused about what my body is doing!
Has anyone experienced darker LH tests around the time their period was supposed to start, especially with Hashimoto’s or hypothyroidism? Did you end up ovulating late, getting your period, or eventually getting a positive pregnancy test?
I would really appreciate hearing anyone else’s experiences. Trying to understand my cycles while TTC has been a little overwhelming! ā¤ļø

Question/Advice Anyone else keep meeting with their insurance’s fertility nurse after the required visit?

My insurance requires a meeting with a fertility nurse before fertility coverage kicks in. I’ve done that, so technically I’m done, but I’ve been checking in with her about once a month anyway. It’s been really helpful to have someone to ask random questions without booking a full doctor’s appointment or digging through Google at midnight.

Has anyone else done this? I’m curious whether there’s a downside I’m not thinking of. Did anything you discussed end up in notes that affected coverage or approvals? Or was it just a nice extra resource?

Would love to hear how it went for others.

Excited! Conceiving 4 Days Prior to Ovulation

Curious if anyone has or knows someone who has conceived 4 days prior to ovulation / how likely it is. I know it’s possible, but seems closer to the front end of the fertility window.

For context: my husband and I are ā€œsoftly preventingā€ this cycle with the pull out method, but got carried away on Saturday. Captured my LH peak yesterday afternoon and ovulation pain yesterday evening / this morning.

I’m just curious how high the likelihood is. It is exciting to me that the possibility is there!

First cycle off birth control.

Question/Advice Ttc advice?

Hubby and I are ttc, I was using fertility awareness method for birth control, and have learned a lot about my fertility in the process. And i plan to use the same method for ttc. Just read the ttc chapter of taking charge of your fertility and feel like i have a good understanding. Just wondering if anyone has additional tips, i just ordered prenatals on amazon. My firstborn was a happy accident from the one time i ignored my fertile window. This month is our first time ttc and I’m not pregnant this cycle.

Help Drinking & TTC

M: 27, F:26

Me and my husband have decided to TTC this cycle for the first time, and I just got invited to my cousins bachelorette. It’s going to be in 3 ish weeks and they’re big drinkers. I only drink socially, maybe once a month (if even that) a couple glasses of wine.

My fertility window is next weekend, the Bach would be the same my next predicted period is. (Quite literally the day of the Bach would be the first day of my period) my periods are EXTREMELY regular I start 28 days on the spot maybe off by one day rarely.

I don’t want to drink with the possibility I would be pregnant. I have seen posts that people drink until they see the positive test and they stop. I also understand people don’t get pregnant on the first try don’t get me wrong. **But would I even be able to test to see if I was pregnant by then? Would you just drink and not worry about it?** I am so worried I could be pregnant and then drinking - and with all my friends it just really is a social thing to have a glass of wine or two with dinner so I don’t know how to go about that in the future either.

Forgive me for being naive, pregnancy and sex is very taboo in my family and I have to get my info online.

Also yes, not drinking would be weird and obvious for me I am usually the party animal unfortunately(for bachelorettes) I just don’t know how to go about it, and I’m not interested in telling people I’m TTC or anything like that.

Question/Advice I need advice

So my fiancƩ (m22) and I (f20) have a 1.5 year old son, and then back in january i had a miscarriage at 10 weeks. Very upsetting but we decided over the summer we want to try for another baby as we don't want our kids have a huge age gap. We've been trying to 3 months... But back in june i started having irregular periods (comes 1 days to 1 weeks early every month since) and this all started around when i got diagnosed with connective tissue disease that they suspect will become lupus in the near future. But with all that my period was NEVER late. This past month i was tracking my ovulation (once a day) and it kept saying i wasn't ovulating, but i know since i was only doing it once a day i could've missed my window, like i tested at night and positive window was in the morning. But now my period didn't come early this month like it had been i've been testing 2 times daily for the last week and no we were 3 days past when period was actually due, but a week since it would normally come. I'm trying to not get my hopes up but i don't know what to do in this situation. I called my OBGYN and they said they won't take me in for blood work, but i feel like it's needed to figure it out. With my son i tested positive the day my period was due, and then the second time i didn't test positive until 2 or 3 after it was due. And to previous my period was regular after i gave birth (for it 2 weeks later), the entire time i breastfed, and after we had the miscarriage. Did not become "irregular" until june when the health issues started. any ideas? recommendations? idek im just at loss and confused

Question/Advice 8 or 9 dpo

Thumbnail

I’m only 8 or 9 dpo so it’s very early, but decided to test this morning after oura picked up minor signs of strain from body temp and a significant rise in respiratory rate. I usually have some days of minor strain, but only from body temp. This is the first time it picked up a change in breathing. I know it’s most likely negative but I can’t tell if I see a vvvvvvvvvvfl?!
