ALL pictures of scars must be labelled NSFW
If you post a picture of your scar it must be labelled NSFW.
Even if it's a clean scar from years ago with no pubic hair visible.
Thanks

I’m missing the outside world
I’m 11 days PP. I’ve only gone out in public 2 times: baby first pediatrician visit and my c section inspection follow up. I’m an introvert but I also miss going out to like restaurants or shopping or whatever. There have been days I’ve felt great but husband said no to me going out since it can cause issues (he works with cancer patients and has seen people say they feel great and push themselves and causes more pain). Today I’m in pain (fire alarm went off and we smelled something burning at like 3 am. I instinctively got up quickly and grabbed our son. I think that was too much. It was just from our house getting confused because we finally turned on the heat on for the first time in months).
It gets better right with missing stuff?

How many c sections have yall had?
How many csections have yall had? How far apart were they? I’m pregnant due in June, had my second in April 2025 and my first in February of 2023, for those of you with multiple csections close together, how was your experience?

I don't have a right to be upset about how my ab separation looks according to my pelvic PT
She kept pressuring me to answer what it would mean to have my abs fixed, like it was a ridiculous desire
If my DR isn't causing pain, and only the look bothers me, then i basically have no reason to be in PT. I need to accept and celebrate my body because it gave me a baby. Coming from a woman who has 3 kids and 6 pack abs. Then she spent the rest of the time talking about surgery. It's only been 5 months, I'm not even thinking about surgery yet, it was so uncalled for to suggest at this point
I'm frustrated. This was during my 3rd session. How do you even find a good pelvic PT? My consultation was awesome, her socials are awesome, her reviews are awesome. But she wanted to spend over 50% of the session just talking, like a talk therapist, I swear the questions she asked were so deep i almost cried multiple times.
I do actually have pain, but it's in my tailbone. She promised to fix it but never brought it up after the first session

Odd internal tugging?
Ok so I do have an OB appointment soon but is if this is something other people have experienced? So when I was freshly postpartum on the right side of my scar that was the area that gave me the most hell. It was always sore and any sitting up or turning and it’d feel like it was pulling on something in a biting type of way. After 2 weeks it went away. Now almost 6 weeks postpartum I’m starting to notice it again. Any ideas?

Anyone have a successful second pregnancy that was a VBAC, and how long was it between your C-section and getting pregnant again?

Uterine Closure Type
I learned from my operative report that I had a locked single layer closure and from my research this seems less than ideal for future TOLAC. Has anyone had experience with this type of stitch. Why would it be chosen? I’m disappointed and now unsure how this impacts my candidacy for a VBAC.

Random bleeding NSFW
I had my 4th c-section 5 weeks ago. Once the initial round of bleeding stopped for a week, it started back up again . I knew that was probably the scab from where the placenta was. It lasted for a little less than a week.
Then I had no bleeding for an entire week and then all of a sudden I was standing in my kitchen and felt a huge gush of blood. It was bright red and soaked through a pad very quickly. I changed the pad and I was still bleeding, but not as heavily. I thought perhaps it was the return of my period even though I’m pumping regularly and I didn’t get my first postpartum period with my other kids until several months after birth.
After a day, the bleeding stopped completely, so I figured it couldn’t have been my period.
I chalked it up to a one-off random thing.
A few days later, again I was minding my business and felt a gush. Bright red blood. It was nowhere near as much as the first time but still a decent amount of blood, similar to a typical period for me. It lasted for a day and then it was gone again. No spotting. Just completely gone again.
This has happened now three or four times where I’ve had days of nothing and then a day of bright red blood. I’ve never had anything like this happen so I’m wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I do go to the doctor for my 6 week checkup next week but when I started bleeding AGAIN today I thought I’d turn to the internet and see if anyone else has experienced this. It’s more than spotting but not enough to really be alarmed (other than that very first day where I soaked through the first pad).
Here I thought after 4 c-sections I was kind of a pro at it but I’m baffled by whatever it is my body is doing now.

C section infection worsening NSFW
galleryPosting on here because I need reassurance that I’m not being paranoid about this.
I am almost 3 weeks post op c section. A week after the surgery, all the steristrips came off and I noticed a little section of my incision was open and had some dark dead-looking skin instead (first pic). My mom and husband advised I go to my OB because it did look infected.
Nurse practitioner at my OB’s office saw me and dabbed a silver nitrate stick on the infected area and prescribed a week’s worth of cephalexin antibiotics. She did not rinse off the silver nitrate. I took the antibiotics and kept a close eye on the incision; felt like it wasn’t getting better.
I called my OB’s office again a couple days ago and went in same day. A different nurse practitioner saw me and said the incision doesn’t seem to be getting worse. She also dabbed silver nitrate on it, didn’t rinse it off and prescribed nystatin cream for it.
I’ve been using the cream for a couple days now and looking back at the first picture I took of the infection, I’m realizing that it’s definitely gotten worse.
I’m worried the medical professionals at my OB’s office aren’t taking my infection seriously. I have another appointment with them in a couple days and I’m considering asking for a wound care referral.

Second C-section healing question
I just had my second C-section, planned minimal blood loss and no adhesions. A clean surgery according to my doctor. Although she said she used more heavy duty sutures since it was a second time muscle surgery.
She also said my incision site was bleedy so had to use a pack wound thing which just looked like a pad.
I’m 8 days out and on the left side of my incision there is a large rope like feeling that literally feels so much larger than last time. I’m worried it’s something wrong. I see the nurse at 330 today.
Did anyone have this? Or experience with feeling something like this?

Scar pain 12 mo PP
TL;DR: I’m having pain on my lower stomach/scar area when my daughter or cats press on it. Not sure if due to lack of nerves or didn’t heal properly? Curious if other moms have had this experience.
So I had my emergency c-section a little over 12 months ago. Came in to get induced and ended up being an emergency c-section due to infection and both my heart rate and my daughters raised significantly. I hemorrhaged and had sepsis. So I think my recovery journey took a bit longer than the norm. Plus after being cleared after 6 weeks I stupidly lifted our 20lb rice bag while cleaning because I was going nuts being bound to the couch so that made me have to sit on the couch for another 2 weeks. I still have no feeling on my lower stomach (below my belly button). But whenever my cats come to snuggles and put all their weight in that ONE dang paw on my scar it hurts like hell (iykyk with cats). Now that my daughter is super mobile and active she presses all her weight on my lower belly and it hurts like crazy. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience this? I can’t tell if this is due to lack of nerves in my stomach now or if it means something else.

10 weeks pp - c section wound dehiscence appears to be getting deeper. Graphic photos NSFW
galleryI’m 10 weeks postpartum from my second C-section and have been dealing with a small area of wound separation directly in the center of my incision that doesn’t seem to be healing properly.
My first C-section was uncomplicated, and I had a very easy recovery. This time, I had a different surgeon who uses an older technique of suturing all seven layers, including reapproximating the abdominal muscles, with dissolvable stitches.
Timeline:
September 22: Noticed a small opening in the center of my incision.
October 8: Went to the ER because the wound wasn’t healing. They documented approximately 1 cm of wound separation without surrounding redness. They only measured the surface opening and didn’t assess the depth. I was advised to use antibiotic ointment (the is was the wrong advice) and follow up with my OB
October 10–14: The opening continued to scab over, but it wasn’t fully healing underneath.
October 15: Saw my OB, who recommended dry gauze to absorb moisture because the incision sits within a skin fold. The scab was still intact, so the cavity underneath wasn’t visible. He mentioned that cauterization during surgery could potentially have contributed to the delayed healing.
October 16: While gently patting the area dry, the scab detached, revealing what appears to be a significantly deeper cavity with yellowish tissue and some darker material inside.
The rest of my C-section incision has healed normally. This is the only area that has opened.
I’m experiencing mild stinging and burning at the opening, particularly when the scab falls off and I’m moving around. I’ve noticed occasional clear drainage, although the area was dry when the most recent scab came off. I haven’t noticed obvious widespread redness or signs of infection
I’m concerned that the wound is getting deeper rather than healing from the bottom up. I’m also wondering whether this could be a reaction to a dissolving stitch, tissue damage from cauterization, or something else.
Has anyone experienced something similar or is there a medical professional who has any insight into what may be going on? Progression photos attached - NSFW

Struggling with feeling like I can’t do anything physical
I’m 4.5 weeks post c-section and most of my days are just sitting around. Every time I try to do any kind of activity, I end up sore after for hours. While it is slowly improving, I’m getting so frustrated that my level of physical ability is constantly impeded every time I try to live my normal life. Today my husband drove us into town and I went for a walk outside - nothing intense, just leisurely strolling and stopping in a shop or two along the span of two or three blocks - and I spent the rest of the night hobbling and sore. Before I gave birth, I bartended right up to the night before I went into labor. I’ve always been active and enjoyed being active even while pregnant, but it was admittedly taxing on my body, and I think it was part of the reason I ended up going into labor five weeks early. I mentioned to the OBGYN I saw at my three week postpartum check up that I was concerned about returning to work 8 weeks after my c-section since it’s a physically demanding job, considering the level of pain I’m still currently in. His response was that “well no woman wants to go back to work after giving birth”, and that he could give me an extra four weeks if I claimed to be emotionally unable to return to work, but then I’d have to talk to a social worker. I don’t want to do that, I feel fine mentally, I’m just worried about hurting myself at work if this is how I feel almost five weeks after surgery. I’m feeling a bit like post pregnancy my physical wellbeing is an after thought, and just needed to vent. I still haven’t had my 6 week check up yet, and my husband keeps reassuring me that pain is normal for such a major surgery. But I wish someone would tell me this is normal, it’s okay, that it gets better.. or if it isn’t normal what I should be doing to feel normal again.

Postpartum c-section cramping/soreness started up again
Hi all! FTM and had my c section about 4 and 1/2 weeks ago. Was not expecting to have a c section (not emergency, baby boy just wouldn’t come out in time from when my water broke) so I was not prepared for any of the healing and recovery aches and pains- didnt know what to expect. But majority of my bad pain and soreness probably stopped around the 3 week mark and I stopped bleeding as well. After that it just felt like I had done a core workout everyday.
A couple days ago, my abs and uterus (actually not sure which one it is) started to feel super crampy and sore again. Not first week recovery pain, but more sore than how good I had been feeling. I did start bleeding again, but it’s not heavy- not soaking a pad every hour like they say to lookout for. I would say it’s like the first or second day of your first period. And I don’t have a fever (again I know something they say to lookout for). Also started having those uncomfortable gas pains associated with this wonderful process.
Was wondering if anyone has experienced this or if this is normal part of the healing process?? Maybe I just overdid it, or it’s everything still healing/contracting…I know I had major abdominal surgery so I didn’t think healing would be that quick, but I just thought I finally got over the majority aches and pains of this process.

Seroma?
Helloooo! I am 9 days post c-section. Yesterday morning I woke up in absolute agony, it felt like I was burning from the inside out. I went back to the hospital & they told me it was potentially a hematoma in my rectus sheath(?), they gave me pain meds & antibiotics to ensure it doesn’t become infected.
This morning, I have noticed a leakage through my pants, and it turns out my scar is weeping yellow-y fluid, I called up the hospital again and was assured it’s normal and it’s called a seroma. They weren’t overly concerned & said if it would help my peace of mind I can pop up and they can take a look, but I’m seeing my own midwife tomorrow anyway so I’m not overly concerned right now.
I have noticed that since this leakage my pain has subsided massively, I’m thinking maybe the pressure and build up of the fluid was causing the pain? Has anybody else experienced this?

Concerned about healing NSFW
I am not sure if my scar looks normal or not. I had my 2nd C-section on September 12th, so I am about 5 weeks post op. Any thoughts? Reassurance? I am so lost, my first c section I never had any concerns

How concerned should I be about adhesions?
I am scheduled for an elective c section next week after a traumatic first vaginal birth with forceps. I don’t feel comfortable risking the possibility of forceps again and further damaging my pelvic floor as I am a long distance runner.
I have been reading about potential long term complications from c sections and am most concerned about the problems adhesions can cause such as organs sticking together and potentially causing bowel obstructions. It seems as though this is pretty rare? I am planning one more child after this so would have 2 c sections. But I am wondering if anyone has personally experienced this. I am concerned about this as obstructions are very serious.
I will be going to pelvic floor therapy after delivery just like after my first.
