Success Story Success Story Mega Thread - Got your BFP? We want to hear about it!

This is your space to share your success story with the community that cheered you on. Whether it took you 1 cycle or 12, your story matters and someone out there needs to hear it right now.

When sharing please include anything you feel comfortable with such as how many cycles it took, what you were tracking, what worked for you, and anything you wish you had known at the start.

When sharing your story feel free to use this format:

  • Cycles it took:
  • What I tracked/tools:
  • What I think helped:
  • Anything I wish I knew at the start:
  • Any advice for others still in the TWW:
  • A few things to keep in mind:

This thread is for everyone who has been trying for any length of time. All success stories are valid here, whether cycle 1 or cycle 12+. Please be kind and keep any negative thoughts to yourself.

Please don't tag other users in your post. You can absolutely thank people, just don't tag them directly. This keeps the thread comfortable for everyone, including those who may find BFP posts difficult to see.

If you have nothing kind to add, please scroll on.

Comments that are unkind or gatekeeping will be removed.

Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter! 🌸

Hey everyone! A few quick updates from the mod team 💛

Nothing major, just some housekeeping to make the sub easier to navigate for everyone. Thanks in advance for bearing with us!

  • Flairs got a refresh — We updated the post flairs, so please use them when you post! It just makes it way easier for people to scroll and find exactly what they're looking for (or avoid what they're not in the mood for). If you feel like we're missing one, drop a comment or shoot us a message, we're always open to suggestions.
  • BFPs go in the megathread — We've got a pinned Success Stories megathread and we'd love for all the exciting news to live there so we can celebrate together in one spot!
  • Discharge pics need a trigger warning — If you're posting about discharge and want to add a pic, please use the Trigger Warning flair, blur the image, and pop it in the comments rather than the main post. Small thing, but it keeps the feed comfy for everyone scrolling.
  • Line eyes? We've got you, but keep pics in the comments — We all know that feeling of staring at a test way too long trying to decide if that's a line or a shadow. Totally normal, no judgment! Just use the "Line Eyes - Help!" flair and keep the pictures in the comments instead of the post itself. Reason being, when posts get flooded with test pics, it can be harder for yours (and everyone else's) to actually get seen and get the support you need. This just helps spread the love around a bit better

Just a heads up: posts that don't follow the line eyes or discharge picture guidelines will be removed, so we really appreciate you helping us keep this consistent for everyone.

Thanks so much for helping us keep this space easy to use and kind, as always. Questions or ideas? Drop them below, we read everything!

Success Story No symptoms - thought I was out. BFP!

Hi guys

Last cycle I was symptom spotting like mad, thought I had enhanced smells, nausea, cramping, missed period and hmmm I can't remembered everything now but I details thought I was going to get a BFP. I didn't lol. This cycle my husband was away during my ovulated and I only baby danced 5 and 3 days before ovulation then I think the day of ovulation and the day after. I was super bummed that we had missed the peak time (2 days before and the day before). I went to my mums and decision not to pack any tests so I had no option to wait till I came back. So I couldn't test 7dpo - 10 dpo. I came home and tested 11dpo. BFP on a 10 mIU/mL strip. Today (12dpo) I tested and my line was lighter/the same but I used a different brand strip and when I checked the sensitivity it was a 25 IU/L strip! Anyway I had no apparent obvious symptoms, no butterfly/tugging/pinching feeling that everyone talks about, no spotting and my CM was not a lot and not watery like people have claimed. Anyway sending baby dust to everyone and you're not out till AF makes her appearance.

Confused How do you handle your partner’s lack of desire and inability to have intercourse regularly?

We’re past our 7th cycle now and what I was wondering is, is it possible that we weren’t successful so far due to my husband’s lack of desire for intercourse regularly which leads to us having 1 or at most 2 intercourses per ovulation period. I’m tired of forcing myself too, but I feel so angry and frustrated at him, as this is his “only” contribution to us having a child…
Since we got together 7 years ago, he was at times unable to hold an erection and it takes him a long time to reach an orgasm… so it has been really exhausting for me. How should I go about this?

Question/Advice Conception after pill

Thumbnail
• Upvotes

I’ve recently come off the combined pill, how long did it take to fall pregnant? I have been on the pill for 10 years, so unsure how long my cycles are etc as I’ve only had withdrawal bleeds on the pill. What’s the chances? We are not actively tracking and trying but just seeing what happens but ideally I’d like to be pregnant in the next few months? Is that realistic?

Random Period after stopping pill

Hi all

This is my first cycle TTC. I finished taking my pill 10 days ago but still no withdrawal bleed. How long did it take for your period to return after stopping contraception?

Question/Advice 6 months TTC and I still have no idea when I ovulate 😭 Can someone help me read these OPKs?

I’m 26F and have been TTC for about 6 months now. I stopped birth control about 6 months ago after taking it for a little over a year.
We have sex regularly throughout my cycle, so I’m not too worried about missing the fertile window. What’s driving me crazy is that I cannot figure out when I’m actually ovulating based on my OPKs.
I’ve been testing, but to me the lines all look pretty similar. I don’t see that obvious progression where the test line gets darker, becomes clearly positive, and then fades again. Maybe I’m just completely misunderstanding how these are supposed to look 😭
Can you guys please look at these and tell me what you see?
Do you see an actual LH surge?
Which test looks the darkest/most positive to you?
Can you tell approximately when I ovulated from these?
Is it possible I’m just missing my surge?
Does this look like a normal pattern after coming off birth control?
I feel like I’ve stared at these strips for WAY too long and now I can’t even tell what I’m looking at 😂
I would really appreciate someone explaining what you see based specifically on these tests. I’m just trying to understand my cycle better because after 6 months of TTC, not knowing whether/when I’m ovulating is driving me nuts.
Thank you!! ❤️

Question/Advice Looking for success stories: heavy bleeding in early twin pregnancy

Went to the ER today for heavy bright red bleeding at around 6 weeks pregnant and honestly thought I was going to get bad news. Instead, the ultrasound showed twins, which was the last thing I expected. They found a di/di twin pregnancy with both babies having heartbeats:
Twin A: 5w5d, heartbeat 118 bpm
Twin B: 6w0d, heartbeat 104 bpm (noted as borderline low)

My hCG was 29,714. They didn't find a subchorionic hematoma and discharged me home, telling me to come back if the bleeding becomes heavy again. I'm still having red bleeding and am trying not to panic. Has anyone experienced heavy bleeding in an early twin pregnancy and gone on to have a positive outcome? I'd love to hear your stories while I wait for my follow-up ultrasound. ❤️

Random LH strips not always showing LH surge

I have been TTC for over 2 years now, especially in the last 12 months I haven't always had LH strips show a LH surge, recently I went for some cycle tracking appointments in August and it showed I didn't ovulate. I am a 32F and I always get my period regularly between 29-32 days, but would this maybe mean I get my period but wasn't really ovulating or it was a weak ovulation? Should I have been asking to be on letrozole or clomid?

Question/Advice Feels like my body is freaking out now that we’re TTC

Hi! I feel a little silly asking Reddit for advice/help, but my husband and I aren’t telling anyone that we’re TTC until we get a little further into the process (either a few months of unsuccessful attempts or a sooner-than-expected successful attempt lol).

We’ve really only actually tried twice so far (more like NTNP, because, the first time was right before I was about to start my period, which I already knew. I ended up spotting for 4ish days (which is unusual for me, but I skipped my period in September so it felt like my body was just playing catch up?) and then got my period, which lasted about 7 days instead of my usual 5. The next day, I also developed a pretty bad cold. A couple of days after that, I got a cold sore on top of dealing with the cold and my period.

Once all of that finally passed, we “tried” again about two days after my period ended. The next morning, I woke up with strep-like symptoms (but my strep test was negative), and now it feels/looks like another cold sore is developing.

Deep down, I know these things probably aren’t correlated and could just be a weird coincidence, but I can’t help noticing that both times we’ve “tried” my body freaks out and I dont know why.

I love my husband so, so, so much, but he obviously hasn’t experienced the joys of female hormones and cycles and all the extra stuff that comes with that. I’m also a verbal processor, so keeping all of this to myself has been sooooo harder than I expected, even after only 2 weeks of NT;NP.

Has anyone else experienced something similar when first TTC? I know it’s only the beginning so I’m really probably just overthinking everything I’m feeling, but would love some feedback from others!

TL;DR: We’ve only NT/NP twice, starting this month, and both times have been followed by unusual spotting/period changes, getting sick, and cold sores. I know it’s probably coincidence, but I’m spiraling a little and would love insight/feedback.

Confused First time and the stress?

First time TTC and it’s my second cycle- why did no one teach us how confusing it can actually be. Everyone says oh don’t try too hard or don’t stress because it can delay your ovulation etc etc and it’s like how can I not stress when you have to pee on ovulation strips apparently 3 times a day? When you have to track your body temp and so many other things. The TikTok videos of baby aspirin and mucinex and lubes and etc. it’s all too much and it’s barely my second month. How do we deal with the stress?

Sad BFN on our 1st wedding anniversary 💔

I’m 35, no PCOS, physically active, non-smoker/drinker, newly TTC couple.

I tested at 10DPO (Oct18) - negative. I took another test at 12DPO (Oct20) hoping to see even the faintest 2nd line but Clearblue said “Not pregnant”. It’s our 1st wedding anniversary yesterday. I was really sad.

We started trying 2mos ago. I thought we had missed my ovulation window during the 1st cycle so we made sure to try again & had sex almost every day during the 2nd ovulation cycle. Idk if I'm doing the tests incorrectly, if I'm drinking too much water, if I missed the sweet spot "ovulation day" and all other things. :'(

I’m experiencing some symptoms right now as if my period is coming & I can’t help but feel discouraged. I know I still need to wait Oct23 or until I miss my period but just seeing the early test results hurts me. I know we’ve only been trying for a few months & I know there are so many women who have been trying for years, I don’t want to compare journeys but now I’m beginning to understand just how emotionally difficult the waiting can be.

Prayers to everyone who’s hoping & waiting. 🥺❤️

Question/Advice First Cycle TTC

Hi,

I know this is unusual, but I really need some advice!

Been wanting a baby for a while but not really TTC until now, so this is my first cycle. Very new to this, so don't have the tools to track anything much just yet so it's a little bit of guesswork. I reckon I'm around 8 - 10 DPO.. However my symptoms this cycle during the TWW have been absolutely INSANE. I'm talking nausea, heightened sense of smell, incredibly sore/achy girls, bloating, insane pelvic cramping, fluttering...you name it, I've had it. I do not ever have PMS symptoms until just the day or 2 before my period, which is always like clockwork. I'm not quite there for a missed period yet, still a few more days out, but it feels so slow.

I took a test yesterday and it was BFN but I know that doesn't discount me just yet! I'm going to wait and re-test probably on Saturday if my period doesn't arrive. In the meantime...

I have ordered a BBT thermometer to start tracking my temp.

How common is it to get a BFP in the very first cycle?

How do I stop symptom spotting?

I feel like it's pretty much all in my head and it's making me spiral a little.

Thanks in advance!

Question/Advice 21 day progesterone test advice

Post image
1 Upvotes

Question about which day you guys think I should get the “21 day” test. I typically ovulate between days 14-16 and my cycles range from 28-31 days. 2 days ago I have a positive ovulation LH test (day 14) and my temperature was slightly up but then day 15 went down. Today day 16 it’s back up. Yesterday evening, day 15, i had slight ovulation pain. I’m not sure which day I should get the lab drawn between days (21-23). Right now I have it scheduled for 7 days from today (day 23). Also Hypothetically if I’m off by a day or two will the test values change that significantly if I did/ didn’t ovulate?

Help Possible CP advice

6 months TTC, one MMC and now cycle 4 post MMC I’ve had positive tests on 10 dpo, 11dpo plus clear blue digital 1-2 weeks on 13 and 15 dpo
I did another line one this morning and it still looks very faint (easy@home) I think I’m 17dpo but I could be off by one day.
I’m not sure what to do next and currently distraught
I guess I’m asking for those who have experienced a CP, when did it become clear?
