My first Rose Bike (and my first brand-new bike ever)!!

Love the color, love the lines, love everything about it

Today’s shopping list: pedals, a floor pump, a water bottle and a bottle cage. Already got my helmet, and I’ll be looking for the perfect lights over the next few days.

Anything else I should get?

Cycle Storage on Trains

This one works reasonably well but the instructions are wrong, and so many people don't bother to use it properly as a result. The insert pedal diagram is the wrong way around and therefore when the train accelerates the bike just floats away if you push it in that way. I've seen a few other options available here and there but in the UK none of the designs are great.

Tesla waited 9 years for a flying Roadster. I just needed a road bike and Tenerife.

While Tesla keeps planning its flying car, we already have flying bikes for rent 😄
KUDO Rent, Tenerife. Flight mode not included (yet).

Elves Falath evo tyre clearance

Thumbnail

Hey!

I own an Elves falath evo+,

I started out with 28mm corsas on it, decided that I preferred comfort over slight aero gains and moved up to 32mm.

The frame lists a max clearance of 32mm and honestly there is about 8mm at the tightest point, so I’m really tempted to slap something like a 35mm on there for light gravel and just overall comfort since I’m not racing.

Is there anyone here that owns a falath evo and has experience with riding wider than 32mm? If so, how is it and for anyone who doesn’t have this specific experience should I do it even though Elves says 32mm is max? I honestly think 35 would fit fine, I’m just not to knowledgeable on any possible dangers this would bring.
Inner rim diameter is 19mm on my scope wheelset.

Thanks!

(Added some pics of the current setup with 32mm)

Options For Parking My Bike

I just moved to Japan and decided that I wanted the freedom of having a nicer bicycle so I ended up across a hybrid at the recommendations of some of my biking friends. Small problem, once you get to the sports bikes, kick stands get tricky especially with this bike. Basically Cycle Base Asahi(who are fantastic to work with my the way) tried installing a stand I bought but..... they couldn't because it would pitch the shifting cable(or something I don't really know how bikes work) Even though my bike has a place for the stand to go, it seems like that issue is the primary problem.

This is the bike I ordered: https://ec.cb-asahi.co.jp/catalog/products/2BA80B3493D046F8A84508AC78AA1094

And this is a kickstand that claims it is compatible with my bike: https://shifta.jp/product/85520000/

Secondary problem is about the kickstand linked is: "When installing on the car body, be careful not to pinch the cable that passes through the vicinity. There is a risk that the rear gears will stop working." (translated into English by google)

So I don't know if I should bite the bullet on this stand in case it messes up my bike! So my question just comes down to this. I'm going to use this bike for a variety of things from getting groceries and going to school, to traveling around the prefecture I'm living in with my camping stuff(I have a rear rack for that woot woot) so can someone with a little bit more expertise in this tell me if the kickstand is going to be a problem or if there is any alternative to a kick stand to keep my bike up that is also portable(and just leaning it against a wall here isn't on option. there is often dedicated bike parking that doesn't have racks)

Thanks in advance and if there is a better subreddit to ask this in let me know haha!

Ultegra Di2 Problem

I need help with my first triathlon bike and I don't understand why my rear derailleur isn't shifting. What's the problem and what do I need to fix?

This was me back in 2019, touring my country with a great bunch of fellow cyclists. That day, we rode around 130 km with a lot of elevation gain! 🚴‍♂️

What is the proper and considerate way to bring your bike on the subway?

I take trips on my bike regularly and I live right outside the city. Usually on my way home I’m in a rush and have to get back for family stuff and I’ll take the subway to the last stop and ride home from there. I’m always aware that I’m
A huge pain in the ass and getting in the way. I’m always apologetic and never a dick about it. I know people usually bring huge shit in the train and are assholes abojt it but that’s not me.

Reparations after accident

Thumbnail

I am no mechanic, sadly was part of a stupid accident (not going to get into details), but driver assumed responsibility and took my bike for repair at a local bike repair shop.

Here's what they 'repaired', (this model is a Trek checkpoint ALR4)

- Front Disc brake, Wheel, (29 inch for some reason?) I think my trek uses a 28 inch), new bar tape?, replaced shifting cables. (I was running tubeless so I assume they kept the tubeless setup, but maybe its worth double checking?)

They only ran him 170$ for the wheel which seems suspiciously low but OK, something that came across as a red flag is that they didnt replace the tyre, and whenever I look at my front wheel when im riding it wobbles a bit.

Did I get scammed here? I am worried about structural damage since this is an aluminum body but again, I am no mechanic, I was considering taking it to another repair shop to actually confirm if all the damages were fixed.

All in all driver paid 300$ in total for repairs

Raleigh Technium 480 Build

Post image
26 Upvotes

Finally finished rebuilding this 1986 Raleigh a few weeks ago, numerous rides since.

Bought it cheap on marketplace a year ago with what seemed like entirely original parts. Since then I've put a lot of miles on it including my first century, but was getting frustrated with the old parts, especially the delicate wheels and 6 speed freewheel.

So my living room turned into a bike shop for a few weeks as I acquired mostly used parts from marketplace and other sources, and now I have a beast of a bike for these Colorado mountain roads and gravel trails.

Only things original now are the brake levers, shifters, frame, and fork.

Hopefully she'll be around another few decades, she's definitely been a few places including a 1990 Seattle to Portland race sticker still on the front 36 years later.

What are the recommendations for a direct drive trainer for zwift? Thinking about finally doing some inside training/racing. My son loves it. He has a wahoo KICKR.

I’m trying to decide between wahoo core 2 and tacx neo 2T.

Thank you

Sometimes, all you need is a bike and a trail 🌿🚲

There’s something special about leaving the busy roads behind and getting lost in the quiet of the forest. 🌲

Just me, my bike, and a trail waiting to be explored. No rush, no noise — just fresh air and peace of mind.

These are the rides that remind me why I fell in love with cycling. ❤️🚲

What do you prefer: peaceful forest trails or long open-road rides?
