Everyone,
This link should take you to a Google Map that I've put together with the locations and images of all the Bike Tags that have been placed so far. I'll continue to update it with new finds going forward. Many thanks to everyone who helped me track down some orphaned images and locations. The list is now complete:
Google Map of Houston Bike Tags
The maps serves a couple of purposes:
I've grouped the tags in batches of 25 just to keep the list and display a bit more manageable. You can certainly turn on all the tags and see how well covered the city has become so far.
Tags with RED pins are locations where the image that was tagged is no longer there. Several of the older murals have been painted over, for example.
Clicking on a tag will pop out a preview picture and description. Clicking on the preview picture will open a full size version. Wherever possible, the picture is the one from the original tag.
Have fun and explore this great town!

Recently uploaded construction bid documents show plans for a new 10-foot wide path between Shepherd Drive and Asbury Place along Buffalo Bayou. It’s not the full connection between the two parks but it’s an improvement! Extending the trail to complete the connection will probably face a lot of pushback from homeowners and businesses like Brenner’s on the Bayou and River Oaks CC.

Hey guys, does anyone know any good routes to perform FTP tests? I live by the heights next to the white oak bayou but I find it hard to do it there since there is always too many people, lights at some street intersections and is not a 100% flat while going under bridges and curvy where you can’t really continue pedaling. Thanks.

I was leaving work in Houston, Northwest around 9pm. I use the public transit metro and i always bring my bike along with me. So, Friday evening i got on the 45 Tidwell traveling to the North Shepard park and ride. The driver of the 45 Tidwell was driving extremely fast. We made it to Shepherd and Tidwell at that stop the 45 Tidwell bus turns right and continues to the Northline transit. I exit at this stop and then the driver takes of i could not grab my bike. Another passenger tried to help by chasing after the bus down Tidwell. As i was chasing the bus very upset i fell onto the street with uncoming traffic. I'm a veteran so my PTSD along with anxiety kicked in and i just flipped out. I called 911 to be transferred to metro PD to try and have the bike retrieved once the driver make it to Northline. I wasn't able to get the bus number so I dont know what to do. I'm afraid to drive, so my bike is my transportation for work and family visits....
Has anyone else have experience this?
Lost and Found only operates on Tuesdays?
Any chances of me retrieving it. Im in Houston.

Purchased my Pinarello Grevil F5 from Epic Cycles in Houston about 1.5 years ago. I think I paid somewhere around $5,000 for it. I don't think I've written it more than four or five times, and now it's time to admit I'm just not going to really ride this thing.
Willing to sell for $3,500 obo - this thing is barely used. For those concerned about purchasing stolen items (hopefully we all are....), I'm sure Epic Cycles can check their systems and verify me on the original purchase.
Only willing to make the trade in person. I live in the Tanglewood area of Houston.

I was researching city plans for bike infrastructure, and I found this link from the Houstontx.gov website.
Houstonbikeplan.org
Going to the website takes you to a Thai gambling site (I think)? With the same domain!! It al also happened to me with a metro link for some transit plans. I can't recall the link. What is this insanity?

My beloved bike I’ve had since 2013 went missing 2 months back from near the medical center.
It’s a blue 55cm lager, black highwall rims, white colnago seat., and some random stickers. I haven’t been able to find any similar bikes in terms of geometry and aesthetics. I miss my bike.
I realize this is a longshot since it has been a few months, but if anyone has seen anything similar, I’d greatly appreciate it!

What’s everyone riding these days? Let’s see pics of your ride along Houston bike trails/parks. I’ll start it off with a pic of my ride thru Hermann Park at the Lott Carousel.

Hi everyone,
Newer to biking and contemplating biking from heights area to downtown. The route I mapped was white oak ->UHD-> east sidewalk of Travis bridge -> buffalo bayou trail -> Austin street. Took it today and was curious if there are any safer routes; rather do you find biking in Houston relatively safe?

Two weeks ago I visited Houston Museum of Fine Arts in Houston on Friday afternoon and parked at the bike rack in the sculpture garden. Less than an hour later I came out and had a flat front tire. It's been a while since I had a flat, so I accepted that's the way it goes and walked my bike to my next destination and changed tubes there. Tube had no puncture so thought it was a valve problem. I didn't have a valve stem cover on.
Two weeks later, this last Friday - exact same time of day, different bike with beefier tires, same thing. This time there was a small hole in the tube, but I did have a valves stem cover on. Harder to be philosophical about it at this point. Security said they looked at camera and didn't see anybody.
Weirdo that hates bikes, thief hoping I'd leave it there long term, or just unfortunate coincidence. It's been about two years since I got a puncture, and the reasons are usually obvious.
I won't be parking there again. I'm only posting this in case there is a pattern beyond my own that someone might recognize.

I got this bike and was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy replacement rims, in store preferably rather than online. The rims are crooked. Didn’t know where else to ask, but if anyone can let me know any stores where I can find some it would be appreciated!!:)

Since I started riding bikes with Karbach in 2014, I've logged my rides with Strava. Then I found out about https://www.statshunters.com/ a free website which lets you easily generate heatmaps by linking to your Strava account.
Today I zoomed in on the GPS traces at Karbach Brewing, and at Tacos a GoGo on W. 34th.
When viewed on the Statshunters web site, you can click on any particular trace and it'll bring up the information about that ride and the Strava link for that event.
Here's a capture zoomed out, showing most of the Houston/Galveston area rides since I started.

How many of you actually use your bike to get around mainly? Im new to Houston, been using a bike and to be honest, it's been good enough.
I find that the city can actually be very good for bike centric infrastructure if it actually invested in it. It has enough areas that are quite beautiful but ruined by heavy parking and car-centric infrastructure. Especially Montrose, which seems like it gets most of its traffic from students at Rice.
