Title: 6w0d scan with HB 111 and CRL 0.37 cm. What should I expect at the 8 week scan? (history of loss, anxious)

• Upvotes

Hi all, I'm 32 and had my first ultrasound at 6w0d. Heartbeat was 111 bpm and the CRL measured 0.37 cm. We've had one blighted ovum and two chemical pregnancies before this, so I'm really anxious.
For anyone who's been in a similar spot:
What did your 8 week scan look like (heartbeat, measurements)?
How did things go if your HB was around 110 at 6 weeks?
With my history, what are the chances this continues to a healthy pregnancy?
Symptoms so far: lower back pain, morning sickness like nausea intermittently
Any experiences or reassurance would mean a lot.
Thank you!

Symptoms C section scar pregnancy???

• Upvotes

So I’ve had normally rising betas. I’m 5w3d and yesterday beta was 6200. I’ve had bleeding since Friday and intermittent cramping. Today I had an us and with the rising betas I expected SCHs. Well I have 3 small sch largest only being 1.6 cm gestational sac was measuring exact with yolk sac. However looks like it’s in my scar. The dr said 50:50 could be in the scar vs low uterine implantation. I’ve been more crampy with consistent light bleeding.

Not sure what to do or what to think. Anyone with experience with either? What was your situation?

Sad Heavy bleeding at 5w4d after FET

• Upvotes

Hi there. I had an embryo transfer with a PGT tested embryo, we had a positive test 6 days past transfer and high doubling initial betas (It was 680 11 days past transfer).

I had a massive gush of blood this morning with clots. My consultant saw me later and he could see a gestational sac and a yolk sac (I can’t remember measurements as I was in tears). He said that he can see a hematoma that has not fully emptied so I should expect more bleeding.

How do you stay hopeful and calm and how likely that this is going to continue. I think the bleeding has eased a bit but I am cramping and i feel like I am bruised inside.

thanks!

Thought I was miscarrying, but the ultrasound showed twins

Went to the ER today for heavy red bleeding at around 6 weeks pregnant and honestly thought I was going to get bad news. Instead, the ultrasound showed twins, which was the last thing I expected. They found a di/di twin pregnancy with both babies having heartbeats:

Twin A: 5w5d, heartbeat 118
Twin B: 6w0d, heartbeat 104 (noted as borderline low)

My hCG was 29,714. They didn't find a subchorionic hematoma and discharged me home, telling me to come back if the bleeding becomes heavy again. I'm still having red bleeding and am trying not to panic. Has anyone experienced heavy bleeding in an early twin pregnancy and gone on to have a positive outcome? I'd love to hear your stories while I wait for my follow-up ultrasound. ❤️

Mild one-sided cramping at 4wks 5days

Hi everyone! I am 4 weeks and 5 days with my first pregnancy and for the past 4-5 days I’ve been experiencing mild cramping and twinges, which often are localized on the left side. I wouldn’t say they’re as bad a period cramps, and are intermittent. Sometimes (maybe once or twice a day) I’ll get a very quick, sharp twinge on the left side. I haven’t had any bleeding or spotting, but my first appointment isn’t for two more weeks (and they let me know I won’t have an ultrasound at this appointment) and I’m worried this could be a cause for concern.

Has anybody else dealt with this so early, and what was the outcome? Is this something I should get checked out before my first appointment if it persists? Any advice or words of wisdom are greatly appreciated!!

Advice Needed hcg 2,045 & no sac found (??)

im seeing a different midwife after having an early MC in august. dont think i love her. she seems passive. i got a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday at 4 + 5 (based of ovulation) my hcg was 2,045 yesterday also, she was digging around trying to find something. before she gave up, she found a small black spot and said that “it could resemble early pregnancy”. im like…so does it or does it not? i do know what a GS is supposed to look like but i wasnt 100% convinced. it was small. ive learned that normal hcg levels and no GS can indicate an ectopic, but ive had no pain or out of the ordinary symptoms. and apparently you are supposed to see a noticeable sac at 2,000+ hcg. i did only ovulate 19 days prior, so it know its really early but im just concerned and honestly i dont know if an ectopic pregnancy is even on her mind. is it possible to have this hcg level without a noticeable sac at 19dpo and have a viable pregnancy?
october 16th: beta hcg 401
october 20th: beta hcg 2,045

Super high HCG at 4w0d?

Based on my last period, I should be at 4w0d today, but my HCG came back at over 21,000. Anyone have any experience with this that turned out okay?

I’m worried more about a molar pregnancy than multiples with how high it is. I was on a medicated cycle through a fertility clinic with a trigger shot 16 days ago and ultrasounds before that, so I don’t think I could have ovulated early.

Advice Needed 6 weeks 4 days pregnant, anxious

Hi all,

I recently found out I’m pregnant, and I’m really struggling with anxiety after a previous missed miscarriage, and two chemicals.

I had my first hCG blood test yesteday, and my levels were around 5,000. I’m going back for my second test tomorrow, and I have my first ultrasound with my fertility clinic next Wednesday, when I’ll be around 7 weeks and 4 days.

Right now, my only real symptom is sore breasts, which makes me even more anxious. I keep worrying that my hCG is too low or that my lack of symptoms means something is wrong.

In my last pregnancy, I had a missed miscarriage where the baby’s heartbeat stopped around 5 weeks. I think that experience has made it really hard to trust that things are progressing normally this time.

For those who have experienced pregnancy after loss, how do you manage the anxiety between appointments? I want to feel excited and hopeful, but instead I keep preparing myself for bad news next Wednesday.

How do you stop yourself from spiralling over hCG numbers, symptoms and everything that could go wrong?

varying HCG results from different labs

Hello all , I had a beta hcg drawn Tuesday (5w1d) at my obgyn which was 1506 I then proceeded to go to my PCP the following day (completely different office) on Wednesday at 5w2d and the result of that one was 1489. I’m now panicking that something is wrong with my baby or that I’m going to miscarry. If you’re wondering why I went to two offices one day after the other, I was anxious waiting for the first result so I went to another place. I guess I’m just wondering if I should’ve expected it to go up in 24 hours or if there’s variation between labs that would account for a difference ? I have no bleeding cramping etc. i’m going back to the OBGYN tomorrow for another draw so i guess i’ll get my answer then but in the meantime I’m wondering if anyone has this experience and whether i should worry. TYIA

Update! Need advice / hcg slow to double (but finally did!)

Please see my HCG levels below. I have a lot of hope but I’m nervous all around.

8dpt5d - 88
11dpt5d - 150
13dpt5d - 334

The nurse said I could come in for peace of mind on Friday which surprised me a lot since I’ve read so many stories of the first 2 betas dictating an eventual miscarriage. I’m so hopefully for Friday’s results but want to be cautious. Any similar stories would love to hear.

Ultrasound anxiety after past MMC...

TW: Previous MMC

In the thick of some majorrr pre-ultrasound anxiety today and just really need to hear from people who've survived this waiting room dread.

I'm 9w3d and have a scan scheduled for today. I had an early scan a few weeks ago at 5w5d where they saw a fetal pole with cardiac activity, but since having a previous 12 week MMC after two great scans, that still doesn't bring much relief... I just keep thinking about being sent to the ultrasound room after they couldn't find the heartbeat on the doppler, and remember the tech moving the wand over my belly only to find a completely still baby. I thought I was finally over it, until today - it's all that keeps playing in my head as I count down the hours until I need to go in.

I feel the exact same way I did before going that day, like I'm going to go in there and see stillness and silence. I also lost just about all my symptoms at 6w6d, similar to my MMC, which has totally been freaking me out but was told without bleeding or cramping there isn't any concern (was told the same thing last time...ha). And just by chance, I happen to be booked with the same doctor who broke the news to me. It feels so ominous. UGH.

Has anyone gotten over their scan anxiety? Any tips or tricks for getting through the door, because I feel like I just want to cancel the appointment atp 🥲

Low Hcg level

This is my first pregnancy, and I am currently about 5 weeks along. I found out I was pregnant last weekend, but on Monday afternoon, I started experiencing spotting that progressed to light bleeding accompanied by mild abdominal cramping. The cramping has been persistent since then.
The bleeding has been relatively light and intermittent, mostly noticeable when I urinate, and significantly less than a normal menstrual period, but I’ve passed a few small blood clots while urinating. My doctor checked my blood hCG level, which came back at 51.
I’m worried and unsure whether I may be experiencing an early miscarriage or if these symptoms could be associated with a pregnancy that is still progressing normally. Has anyone experienced something similar in early pregnancy? I would appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Belighted ovum, help

Had my second scan today which my sac was measuring 17mm it was 11mm last week.

HCG went from 26000 to 38000 from last weds to last Friday.

This is my fifth pregnancy and first possible miscarriage.

I am struggling with sickness and tiredness and I feel so down.

Has anyone experienced this and went on to have normal pregnancies? I feel like this is me now.

Vent Well… it’s happened

Earlier this summer, I had a MMC at 17wks. My second trimester blood tests came back positive for tri18 and SLOW, and that it likely had passed around 14wks. I had a d&c but once in the operating room, it changed to a d&e so I ended up being farther along than they thought.

I spent the last 4 months depressed, stressed and just miserable. I smoked weed heavily and then this last cycle we thought whatever let’s just have sex when we wanna… ok well fast forward to today and I just tested positive. I had weed gummies last week with my mom, smoked on Sunday and now I’m panicked that I’ve just set myself up for failure againnnnnnnnnnnn

Should I be hopeful or just get ready for the unfortunate?

This is my first pregnancy after trying for over a year so this is all so new to me. Don't know if I should be hopeful or if I should just guard my heart. In all honestly, maybe I just need to get this all off my chest because it’s been a stressful few weeks. ( Long post)

Last Saturday I was supposedly 7 weeks + 5 days pregnant but started experiencing very light spotting. Only saw a pink tint when I wiped, never filled a pad or even enough to stain underwear. Some days I would see small flecks in the toilet, went to my Doctors office on the 3rd day and they didn’t seem too concerned and stated that spotting was completely normal in early pregnancy unless I was cramping which I wasn’t. Continued to spot on and off for about 5 days until the 6th day I had a red streak from an wipe and immediately flipped out and decided to go to the ER. Same questions were asked , no I was not filling a pad, it was just pinkish red spotting, no cramps. They decided to check me into the maternity ward instead of Emergency, and the nurse was reassuring me that she didn’t think I was miscarrying but that it was normal and to keep an eye on it and come back if it gets worse. I felt a bit sad that I wasn’t able to get a bedside ultrasound, because up to that point I hadn't received any ultrasound yet but the nurse was kind enough to find me an appointment 2 days later, which was 6 days sooner than my scheduled one.

Fast forward to the ultrasound, and at that point I was supposed to be measuring 8 weeks and 6 days But the tech was only able to find the gestational sac and egg yolk. No fetal pole… no embryo or heartbeat.. and she mentioned I was only measuring about 6 weeks and 6 days. A whole 2 weeks behind!!! She tried to be very optimistic with me and said maybe we just have our dates wrong or maybe ovulation and implantation took longer than expected. I know that I have longer cycles that can be 33-35 days and not the typical 28 and I tend to ovulate on day 20 or 20+ , but a whole 2 weeks behind with no embryo was just concerning. I have no bad feelings for the tech, she was doing her job and being as kind as she could to me. The next day the hospital Nurse called me to go over the results, she was also very optimistic and said right now I have everything needed, just need the egg yolk to grow into an embryo and that anything is possible still. We scheduled another appointment in 10 days and I am waiting to see whether or not there is any growth.

Since then spotting has stopped completely, the morning of my first ultrasound It had stopped and it wasn’t until after the appointment that I spotted one last time but I heard that’s normal to spot during a transvaginal ultrasound. My actual doctor did call me the next day to go over results with me , and unfortunately a resident was attending and he delivered the news to me. He was very blunt , and said due to my period date I should be 9 weeks and because I have no embryo I am probably going to miscarriage soon or should look into options to do so. My doctor had to cut in and offered I do some bloodtests to track if my hcg is going up just so I could double check before my next ultrasound. So far I’ve just done the one and am waiting 48 hours for the next one.

Sorry for the long read, not sure if anyone is still here but I guess I just needed to let it out and share my life story lol Is there any hope for me or is this just the end? My symptoms have always been the same, just sore breasts, tired , and I get on and off mid day nausea that lasts only a few hours at a time.

Light spotting 17 weeks pregnant

Hi everyone!

I‘m 17w4d pregnant after two miscarriages.
The day before yesterday my husband and I went for a quick Doppler check at the midwife and we heard the little heart. I went back home and saw a minuscule drop of blood in my panties. I wasn’t even sure it was blood so I let it go.

Yesterday night there were two drops of blood in my panties. Still very minimal but there. I had a busy day yesterday (I did gardening, hiked, did groceries, sport) and at the end of the day I also felt some pressure in the lower belly, I assume from all the physical activity.

I also want to add that the two times I noticed the spotting, it was after cycling (I don’t have a car and use the bike as transportation within the city I live in).

So far today I haven’t had spotting. I still feel this light pulling sensation, on and off.

Anyone has had a similar experience? I called the midwife this morning and she told me it’s so minimal it’s probably nothing, and not worth a check up because they wouldn’t be able to find anything anyways.

Thanks for your response!

Ultrasound First ultrasound at 6wks4 days

My OB offered me an early ultrasound due to having a chemical a couple months ago and she knows how anxious I’ve been. We tested my betas and they were doubling perfectly so I’m feeling good so far about those just nervous for the first ultrasound. I’m very certain about my dates because I tracked like a mad woman and tested positive at 8dpo. Can anyone help me understand what’s realistic to see at this stage?

My daughter’s ultrasound was after 8 weeks.

Low but rising bhcg - do I guard my heart ??

Hi everyone

I got faint lines on FRERs since DPO 8-9 so pretty convinced on early implantation. I got betas early because of multiple previous chemicals:

20 on DPO 11

33 on DPO 13

101 on DPO 16

180 on DPO 18

I know they're doubling within 48-72 hours but I'm just so worried about the very low numbers and don't think I can put it down to implantation - just really hoping for any reassurance ? I'm already mourning the loss 😢

Bleeding 5w2d

I’m a kindergarten teacher and yesterday I was jumping around with the kids and was pregnant. So far I had no symptoms except for some cramps and bloating.

Today in the morning, I noticed three red drops of blood on my underwear and freaked out. The bleeding stopped but turned to spotting. I went to my doctor and checked everything, the found the gestational and yolk sac and everything looked fine. She prescribed me progesterone suppositories and sick leave.

Is it normal to have this red spotting? It’s been a few hours and it didn’t stop. There’s nothing on my pad but when I wipe there’s pink spotting but not strong enough to be a flow.

Should I be worried that I’ll miscarry?

Advice Needed Shoulder pain at 4 weeks

Anyone have shoulder pain and it not be ectopic
Too early we couldn’t see anything on the ultrasound
It’s a strange pain which I can’t pin point it’s around my shoulder area and it comes and goes
