[Barrows] Romello Height (illness), Gracen Halton (quad) & James Thompson (ankle) on hand for the start of practice, but no Nick Bosa. It's looking like his return will be Week 7, barring a setback. It also appears Mike Evans will not practice at all this week w/ rib/Achilles issues.
Brock Purdy credits DC Raheem Morris' scheme for 49ers QB's aggressive approach in 2026 NFL season

Just a reminder, even though Brock is in his 5th year he is still just 26 and is the 9th youngest starting QB in football.
Younger than guys like Tyler Shough, Jordan Love and Herbert. And the same age as Michael Penix and Bo Nix.
The fact he was 22 when he took over and was as good as he was will always amaze me.
He is still getting better.

What about Chase?
I may be in a VERY small minority but, he’s playing lights out right now. Saints are about to be a dumpster fire. I’m sure his asking price isn’t high but, I think he’s finally growing into what he was anticipated to be. Thoughts?

Do you think this current 49ers team can be better than the 2023 team that made the SB?
Judging by their first 5 weeks into the season:
2023 49ers: offense: 33.4 pts/game; defense: 13.6 pts/game
2026 49ers: offense: 30.8 pts/game; defense: 18.6 pts/game
The 2023 49ers may have put up better numbers, but the 2026 49ers had a tougher 5-game stretch and are more depleted with injuries (will be healthier later in the season), and are still close to matching the 2023 team's stats. Roster-wise, it's tough, since most of the players from the 2023 team are still here, with only a few players leaving. They brought in new additions such as Mike Evans and Osa Odighizuwa, who have been major contributors to this current team. Would you argue that the 2026 49ers are or can be potentially better than the 2023 team that made the SB?
