How I think the Chargers can get back on track.

I want to start off by saying, I don’t think the Chargers are going to fire Mike McDaniel during the bye week, it would be uncharacteristic of Coach Harbaugh.

There is no scapegoat in this situation, Harbaugh signed up for Mike McDaniel, everyone in the football world thought this was a good idea. McDaniel is at fault for over complicating the playbook and not having the correct personnel to do it. Herbert is at fault for turnovers, receivers are responsible for their drops, RBs for fumbles, O line for missed assignments, ETC.

Harbaugh is at fault because he signed off on it, and even Hortiz could have done better.

It would be uncharacteristic of Harbaugh to bail on this entire scheme mid season, and there’s no way the entire offense can possibly learn a new playbook, or have a better outcome from learning a new playbook during a two week span. The team will either continue losing in this system, or they will lose because of a knee jerk firing during mid season. They’ve built their house, and they need to alter the blueprints going forward.

Problems-

  1. Herbert looks lost.

Solution: switch him back to his old stance to regain his rhythm and processing of the game. It’s that simple, he was him in that stance, he no longer is. Try driving a car with your left foot on the gas and brake.

  1. Oline is broken.

Solution: Give Herbert quick outlet passes to RB, TE, ANYONE.

  1. Receiver room is a ghost town.

Solution: Lean into the run game, stop being predictable, it’s our deepest room. Do what works.

  1. Receivers can’t get open downfield?

Solution: Get the run game working, short game passes, give guys wiggle room down field!

  1. Herbert keeps getting hit.

Solution: Herbert needs the option to run for his life, and give him a FB on standby.

Lastly- Get back to fundamentals and slow the game down on offense. Defenses are bullying them because they’re thinking too much and not doing. They need to take control of the clock and do without thinking. Slow down, everyone looks anxious, just execute.

I know this all sounds basic and common sense, but it’s really not that complicated. Everyone wants to blame someone and this whole fanbase is checked out or infuriated, but the solutions are simple. Nobody needs to get fired, they just need to get back to fundamentals that they’re all familiar with.

Daniel Popper has watched every snap of Justin Herbert's NFL career, and this version of the Chargers QB is unlike anything he's seen before. His turnover rate has skyrocketed, raising serious concerns about his play as Los Angeles sits at 0-5. What’s gone wrong, and can the Chargers fix it?

Herbert Appreciation

I know this has been his worst season performance wise, but it hasn't all been his fault. I know there have been some bad meatball subs from him, but I genuinely think it's because of the system he's in currently with McDaniel. We can play the name game on everyone really but let's just appreciate we've had an elite quarterback in our presence the past 6 years. The man isn't a diva. He's very good at suppressing his emotions for the most part. There's no one I'd rather have leading this offense. That being said, I'm all for team tank but I would also like improvement from the offense so Herbert isn't discouraged. I don't want him opting out of his no trade clause. I think it would be weird seeing him in a Steelers, Vikings, Seahawks jersey etc.

That's all.

Love you Herbert ❤️

Help a new fan out!

It’s as the title says, I am a new fan because of tiktok, basically really new on NFL as an international fan. I want to really know chargers and follow their 2026 journey. So far, I have watched their game against the Broncos. Is there anything I should know about the Chargers? 😭 Especially they are 0-5 now, which breaks my heart.

Where should I start and which games should I watch to get to know them more? I really would appreciate any tips and good game recommendations of them. I’m also getting to know their names and all that.

TYIA!!

[Furtado] Khalil Mack keeps faith in Chargers amid trade buzz: ‘I’m still ring chasing here’

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Khalil Mack has been traded twice. He gets it.

In his fifth season with the Los Angeles Chargers, his third team in 13 years, the five-time All-Pro chose to re-sign as an unrestricted free agent this past offseason. It was an affirmation of his vow against the so-called ring chase. He didn’t just want to win with any team. And what better way to do it with the Chargers than at home, with SoFi Stadium set to host the Super Bowl? Building off back-to-back 11-win seasons, a storybook ending on Feb. 14 appeared within reach.

His future in L.A. has since been mired by trade speculation, brought on by the team’s worst start since 2003.

Mack does not have a no-trade clause in his one-year, $18 million deal, The Athletic learned, despite multiple reports in recent weeks stating he does. So if the Chargers become sellers by the Nov. 10 trade deadline, he would not have a say.

The 35-year-old has concerned himself with other things, such as helping his 0-5 team get its first win before the bye.

“I’m still ring chasing here, bro,” he said days before a weekend trip to Arrowhead Stadium, home of the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. “I have total belief and total faith in this team and this organization. I’m not really thinking about anything outside of being here on Thursday.”

Not much we didn’t know already but a bit more insight into the players struggling to pick up the McDaniel offensive system. I feel like I’m in the minority when I say this but I don’t mind keeping McDaniel longer into the season. The team is already 0-5 so I doubt any changes can make them a playoff team at this point, but I guess I’m just tired of the constant year 3 coaching changes and the rotating door at OC.

I might be too optimistic but maybe over time these guys get the offense down and it starts clicking.
