Jonathan Cooper is coming off the commissioner exempt list today, and he is expected to be eligible to play in Denver’s Week 7 game vs. Arizona, sources tell me and @JFowlerESPN.

You can’t call us a “2nd half team” if we simply do not attend the second half. Checkmate losers.

Other QB Stat Lines Against our First 6 Opponents
Bo Nix has not played well to say the least. But thought it was worth adding perspective on just how bad other QBs have played against our common opponents.
Notably:
- Played better than Darnold and Stafford against the 49ers
- Played significantly better than Drake Maye against the Seahawks and Jags
- Isn't ranked dead last against any of these opponents.
Our first 6 games have been a gauntlet. We've played 5 Playoff Caliber Teams (Chiefs, 49ers, Rams, Seahawks, Jags) that will more than likely compete for the Super Bowl. We also did so with no byes, and 2 short weeks (MNF/TNF). All of the teams we've played have been highly rated defenses based on ESPN's FPI (Which takes relative performance and the fact that our offense is bad into account). Look at our schedule release thread and the number of people claiming that 3-3 would be a success: https://www.reddit.com/r/DenverBroncos/comments/1tdfa8h/2026_schedule/
Also worth noting that Bo started really slow last year as well, against juggernauts like the Jets, Titans, Bengals etc.
Yes, Bo needs to step it up and he'll get the opportunity to do so against arguably the worst defense in the NFL on a mini-bye. If he still sucks there, then maybe start ringing the alarm bells. But for now, just chill and enjoy the victory!

VJ deserves more flowers.
Thats’s all. He is putting the offense on his back right now and people are quick to throw him under the bus when things are going wrong. 2nd string secondary across the board last night and they held their own.

My first time at Mile High
(Forgot to post the past couple days lol) while the offense may have been struggling, the defense has not! (I’m 2-0 at Broncos games!)

Yall know that the Seahawks haven’t allowed ANY QB to get to 200 passing yards this season, right?
I feel like this is getting missed.
Drake Maye (last years MVP runner up) - 178 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs
Jacoby Brissett - 97 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Marcus Mariota - 183, 3 TDs
Justin Herbert - 189 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Brock Purdy, the September MVP - 189 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT
Bo Nix - 107 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs
Now, am I saying he played well? Absolutely not. He’s clearly skittish and doesn’t trust his ankle, which is causing him to play extremely safe. But Yall are all out here crying that the sky is falling, but it’s not Bo’s fault that Sean Payton gets wildly conservative as soon as he gets a lead or Dobbins averaged 2.4 a carry on 17 attempts. Is it possible that the team just knew they were playing the #1 passing defense in the league that had forced 6 interceptions in 5 games?
Please feel free to roast me in the comments

Ja'Quan McMillian is the 3rd Broncos DB to have multiple games with a sack and an interception. He joins Louis Wright and Dennis Smith.

Shannon Sharpe’s comments on Bo Nix’s struggles
Agree or Disagree with Shannon? As some have said in previous games in which i absolutely agree with, Bo Nix has continued to play himself out of a big contract. Poor reads, overly conservative, evades good pockets too early, doesn’t attack defenses vertically and just settles for flat check downs, etc. That’s the obvious of course….He’s 4-2 which is what I’m absolutely willing to live with considering this gauntlet, but that’s largely because he’s been writing checks that only Vance Joseph has cashed in on. You can only hope that he find his identity again at some point.

[Doug Clawson on X] There are 701 qualified QB seasons through 6 games in the past 20 years 2026 Bo Nix ranks 701st out of 701 in average pass length (4.9 air yards per attempt) His avg pass was thrown behind the line of scrimmage in the 2nd half on Thursday

[Jenkins] Fitzpatrick RIPPED Bo Nix… Here’s What He Missed
I've not had a chance to watch it yet, but posting to share. Tim was ripping into and making fun of all the hot takes from last night. Should be interesting to watch.
Film shows things are never as bad or as good as they seem.

Can't find anything about Jonah Elliss? I hope bro is ok, he was ballin.
Been looking for updates after he limped off last night?
What a hero to hop off one legged to save a TO too. But is he ok? He was really starting to shine during the Seahawks game and seems like he's going to be a big part of the defense going forward?

Play Calling Copium Take
This super conservative play calling and constant checkdowns so far has been to minimise risk against top 10 defences while Bo regains he confidence. Sean knows how reliable the defence is and is more than happy to lean on them to win ugly games against super bowl contenders.
With the schedule moving forward, I expect the playbook to open up, and Bo being told to take more risks. We'll see Bo from last season soon.
I've got nothing for our run game tho. Feels like our O-Line and RB coaches need to be scrutinized more.
