The seats in MBS are treated like real estate. They were bought by outside corporations who have no stake in who is in a seat as long as someone is in it. End the PSL scam.

I snagged this off The Pivot podcast. While we're hyper focused on Penix, it seems like everyone is having some growing pains. Caleb seems to be maturing out of it faster than everyone else though. His completion percentage is wild. Also only Maye and Nix have played every game this season.

If I had to summarize our time with Dan Quinn in one 15-second clip, it would be last night with him seemingly unaware it was fourth down when his team didn’t convert, and he called for the field goal team to come out.
It is baffling to me how so many of these owners continue to hire these retreads who bring nothing but “great locker room guy” vibes to the table, while not taking a chance on the young up-and-coming coordinator because he doesn’t have prior head coaching experience.

Rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels was at the Atlanta Falcons’ practice facility Monday, and the team hasn’t yet ruled out the possibility that he could play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
That was the lone bit of good news one day after a 31-23 loss to the Chicago Bears that dropped Atlanta to 2-4. Daniels suffered a neck injury while tackling Bears tight end Colston Loveland and left the field on a stretcher following a nearly 10-minute stoppage.
“It’s all positive news on Kendal,” Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday.
Daniels was evaluated at Grady Hospital in Atlanta and eventually returned to Mercedes-Benz Stadium about an hour after the game.
“I feel very, very fortunate that he got the treatment he got, and also that we feel really good about where he is now,” Stefanski said.

We’ve only played one team with a losing record so far this season, and that was an emotionally charged away primetime game against the Aints. 6 of our next 7 games are against teams with winning records.
Our “third place schedule” gave us the Chiefs and 49ers…
I don’t think we’re bad enough to totally bottom out but I think there’s a reality where we finish with 5 or 6 wins simply as a product of the schedule. Our only games left against teams with losing records are divisional matchups, which are always toss ups, and the Commanders.
This isn’t a bad thing though considering the state of the franchise. If Penix can navigate this team to the playoffs with that schedule, then I think you’re all of a sudden very comfortable with him as the 2027 QB. If not, then I think you could reasonably say that he’s not good enough given his injury history and you’ll have a high enough draft pick to move on. I don’t think he’s a bad QB, but I do think his injury history raises the floor of what he needs to show to be the guy moving forward.

I was curious what Pitts has been running and here's what I found. personal assessment, we gave a large contract to someone used in clear out routes versus where we actually target him.
The table below breaks down the 124 routes Pitts has run through Week 6 based on his primary patterns.
| Route Type | Total Snaps | % of Route Tree | Avg. Depth of Route (Yards) | Targets Generated | Notes / Alignment Context |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seam / Go | 31 | 25.0% | 14.5 | 5 | Often deployed out of inline (Y) positions to clear safeties. |
| Crosser / Over | 24 | 19.4% | 11.2 | 6 | Heavily utilized in bootleg and play-action designs. |
| Out / Flat | 20 | 16.1% | 4.8 | 4 | Usually run from tight or chip-block alignments. |
| Hitch / Curl | 16 | 12.9% | 7.5 | 3 | Used mostly as a zone-beater in the middle of the field. |
| Delay / Leak | 15 | 12.1% | 2.1 | 2 | Blocking-first assignments (detailed split below). |
| Slant | 10 | 8.1% | 5.0 | 2 | Run primarily when split out wide or in a power slot. |
| Screen / Swing | 8 | 6.5% | -1.5 | 0 | Manufactured quick touches or decoy assignments. |
Across all 124 routes, Kyle Pitts’ aggregate Average Depth of Target (aDOT) is 8.1 yards.
When executing delay, flat, or screen designs, his target depth sits at a shallow 1.1 yards, which acts as a heavy anchor on his overall downfield footprint but expands his capability to secure yards after the catch (YAC).
Average Route Depth of 8.7 yards across his 124 routes run, meaning his generic deployment is downfield. However, his Average Depth for Reception drops to 3.93 yards,.

I’m not gonna come on here and say Penix is the worst QB in the league. I think he could cook in the perfect situation. I think Denver would be nuts with him for example. But there is no way it’s gonna work for us.
Penix cannot move AT ALL. It is a misconception in today’s NFL that being a pure pocket passer is a play style. It isn’t. Being unable to move is a massive hindrance and mobility is not a special trait, it’s the baseline. His mobility is on par with the oldest QBs in the league and it might be worse. Cousins, Rodgers, and Stafford have all danced in the pocket better than Penix. Combine that with his injury issues. He CANNOT take a hit. Half the times he gets touched he’s in the blue tent. Having someone who can’t move and can’t get hit is not feasible. Look how it ended with Tua in Miami.
There is no timeline where we build the perfect situation around him before he’d need a contract, and that would almost assuredly prevent us from building said perfect situation. He was never a good prospect. That was always a bad pick, even more so because of the overall bungled situation given to us by the last regime. I’m so sick of fans having the same cope we’ve seen for the last decade. If going just below .500 again makes you happy good for you but I can’t stand to put my energy into watching that again.

We Need OT, Edge, IOL, TE and QB (according to NFL.com)

Ive noticed with Penix, he tends to be stronger later in halves. It takes him a little while to get cooking in most games but he tends to perform up to his potentional in later game, later half situations. This begs the question if he is better in a 2 min offense. When Matt was a wee young lass, we would randomly run no huddle offense. It wasnt necessarily hurry up but we rushed to the line of scrimmage to 1) keep the same defense on the field and 2) simplify the reads as there wasnt as much time to do things to disguise the coverage and confuse the pass protection. Over the last 2 weeks l, we have seen a lot of mugging the a gaps and showing of blitzes to confuse pass pro. If we were to mix in no huddle, we could mix in more possessions/plays where they have to declare the defense up front, they cant switch to optimal personnel, and they would force the defense to play in a way that allows Penix to go to his 1st and 2nd read in the progression more often which is where he has been at his best. Im hoping with Matt in the building this is something they try more in the near future although, I do not expect the Matt to do anything he thinks may be meddling. Thoughts?

All three parts of the ST unit are bad or unreliable. You have the coverage and return teams that are underperforming and the kicker forcing the coach to go for it on anything close to 50 yards.

If you have season tickets call or email your rep and tell them you are tired of feeling like a visitor in your own stadium and that this is making you reconsider renewal.
The team knows which PSL holders habitually resell tickets, there are steps we can take to incentivize getting Falcons fans in those seats.
Will this change anything? Probably not.
Will Arthur Blank hear about it if enough people call? Absolutely.

I've been very critical of Penix, but the numbers seem to think that he's been at least decent so far. Certainly not the best QB in the league, but far from the worst. If he can stay healthy for a full season, I think he is capable of taking us to the playoffs, even if it's not this season

Veteran free-agent QB Andy Dalton is signing with the Atlanta Falcons, per sources.

As we all know, no matter what is going on in the season, the throwback Atlanta Falcons become invincible. Since the Falcons brought back the red helmets in 2022, they are undefeated in them except for one time against the Steelers, which I am choosing to ignore. But unfortunately, we will be up against the currently 5-0 49er's in the Dejohnold revenge game, which means that the niners are mostly likely going to play the greatest defense of their life.
Which curse/buff do you guys think will prevail next weekend? The stupendous aura of the throwbacks, or the curse of Dejohnold?

I was at the game today. There were more bears fans than there were falcons fans and it wasn’t close.
Arthur blank has to be ashamed of himself. Like don’t have no pride in your own team?
You have the ATL fanfare concessions that sell $2 hotdogs thinking that’s going to get the average middle class falcons fan to come support? But you looks the ticket prices for the 49ers game and not a SINGLE ticket in the lower bowl for under $400. Want to sit closer than row 20? Minimum $600. If you make $40,000 a year, that is HALF of your biweekly paycheck, gone to watch your team LOSE! For a shit product.
I bought 100 level tickets on Gametime for $250. The bears fan next to me said he bought his months in advance for $600. The city of transplants, teams that travel that are willing to pay these prices are obviously gonna buy it to see their team the one time they come. And you price out the falcons fan who wants to cheer for your team.
Like how do you watch this unfold every game and think that it’s fine?? Terrible ownership decisions.
