Official Discussion "The Day-After Thread" - Final Takeaways and Game Discussion
From all the highs and lows of yesterday, leave your final thoughts/analysis/discussion/takeaways from yesterday’s game.
This thread is intended for level-headed, mindful discussion and less knee-jerk reactions. Keep this in mind before commenting.
As always DON’T BE A DAMN JAGOFF. Follow our rules. We all have different opinions and mindsets, but we’re all here to talk Steelers and see them succeed at the end of the day. Keep it cool.

I guess I missed where choke holds were allowed now
Edit: I get it guys, I get that certain times this is legal, but it’s still comical that it happens to TJ so often and the fact that it looks like he’s trying to rip his head off.

I Have A Brain Aneurysm So I Bought A Steelers Cane
When confronted with the notion that I should probably use a walker or a cane alI could think of was a Steelers cane. I have a pesky brain aneurysm thus the need for the cane. It’s beautiful. It features an officially licensed NFL ball handle. You have to admit you rarely see a pretty lady sporting a Steelers cane. I win my confrontation with the need for the cane.

My First Steelers game - Paris – Terrible Towels and fan meetups?
Hi guys!
I'm a lifelong Steelers fan from Serbia, and I'll be attending my first game this Sunday!
Does anyone know if I'll be able to buy a Terrible Towel in Paris?
Also, are there any Steelers fan meetups planned for the day before or before the game itself? Something like the pre-match gatherings we have here in Europe before football (soccer) games? :)
Thanks in advance!
See you in Paris! :)

So you’re telling me there’s a chance…
Wish the best for Jalen in his recovery, but the birds looked baaaaad yesterday. Could this be our year?

Jamel Dean set the Steelers Record for PBUs Sunday
6 PBUs in a single game is the most ever in Steelers history (since PBUs have been tracked.)
Only 1 off the all time NFL single game record of 7 shared by Lito Sheppard and Duane Starks.

Delightful to read the comments about the Yinzer Mob's takeover of Tampa's stadium yesterday
We are inevitable.

How Accurate is Mark Kaboly on things?
He's casting doubt on Pittman returning this season and is suggesting he may need surgery. I can't tell if he's a Nervous Nellie buzzkill with no intel or is onto something. If you've seen him play on the Colts, you know he's been playing injured all year, and our ceiling is a lot lower without him healthy.

Who is our week 6 MVP ?
With great performances, lets chose who is your week 6 MVP !
-Jalen Ramsey opening and closing the game
-Jamel Dean homecoming
-Germie Bernard becoming our WR2 because of injuries
I'd consider our punter Bill Blurr who was outstanding for 3 quarters then was not needed anymore.
Have a nice day ! See you in Paris

What happened with the clock before Boswell's first kick? When Rogers was sacked, the play clock had less than the game clock, how could the game clock have reached 2 minutes?

About Tj..
Being the day after the game against the Bucs I have a real question… what happened to the idea of TJ playing on a different side or up the middle like Parsons.
Did we abandon that concept already? Didn’t see much of it …or at all yesterday

Everette 1st INT
Hasn’t been mentioned much at all but he’s a 3rd rookie and got his 1st int. This was suppose to be a redshirt year for how much depth we had going into the season and then shit hit the fan in more ways than one to the CB room. But shout out to him for being ready and making plays each game!
I’m from Georgia so i like when our Georgia boys do well with us.

How are we feeling about the rest of the season now?
It’s hard to predict but I’m feeling better about it than the beginning of the season. Paris will be a tough game but winnable if we come out faster than we did against TB. Then we got the Browns at home and a bye for guys like Roman, Pittman, and Harmon to heal. I could see us being 5-3 or 6-2, best case scenario.
Then we got the bengals in Cincy, always tough but winnable, then the eagles without Hurts, which I marked as a loss but could probably be flipped as a win now. Same with the broncos and Texans, who both look way worse than anticipated. The jags are gonna be a tough team to beat and they just always have our number. I think this stretch will define the 2026 Steelers.
But the last four games we got the ravens twice, the panthers at home (good team this year, but winnable again), and the titans on the road.
The team needs to start much faster which is a common theme for us for the last 8 years now. But this team does feel a lot more resilient than the ones of the past. We would’ve had no chance against the browns or Bucs a couple years ago going into those fourth quarters

McCarthy’s defense of his clock management
The game management was horrendous yesterday, and this quote from McCarthy defending it is just complete gibberish. Why can’t coaches just admit when they screw stuff up like this? “The runs” you ran the ball once. “Caught them with 10” couldn’t take advantage, if true, and doesn’t excuse throwing incompletions in that scenario. Incomplete passes were basically the only thing that could’ve kept Tampa in the game and exactly what Bowles would have been hoping they would do. Made Tomlin’s clock management look good yesterday.

Grats to Germie Bernard on his first NFL touchdown!
The first of many!

Big Darnell needs to start using gloves
The aura is off the charts with the no glove look, but he should use gloves.
There’s no way catching is easier without gloves. He could’ve caught that tipped screen that turned into a pick in the first quarter.
Also had a catchable second TD in the 4th I think.

WE HAVE A COMEBACK WIN!!
HOLY CRAP WE CAME BACK FROM A 2 TD DEFICIT IN THE 4TH QUARTER AND WON!!!
(Ugly, but we DID IT NONETHELESS)
