Question Best Yemeni food in Sheffield?

New to the city and have stumbled across Diyafa in the Wicker and Sheffield's Yemeni community. Yemeni food is outstanding, and this city has so many restaurants to choose from.

What are everyone's favourite Yemeni restaurants? I'm making it a habit to walk around the city to learn the streets better, with the goal of trying a different Yemeni restaurant every 2-3 weeks or so.

EDIT: People downvoting this should go outside and try something different to a dominos or mcdonalds...

Politics ‘An unprecedented situation’: Is our council leadership about to split up?

Not sure what Labour are playing at here, but I'm interested to see the fallout.

Coalition / power sharing with the Libs Dems (assuming Lab agree to stop building on the green belt)?

Force the Greens into irrelevancy by making them publicly disavow their own members?

Fall victim to a surprise LD/Greens/Reform coalition and get totally locked out of power?

That last one seems the least likely but interesting that it could technically be an option.

Jobs I can’t find a job and don’t know what to do

I’m a woman in my 20s who graduated in June and still haven’t found a job yet. I’ve applied for probably close to 100 and check Indeed regularly. Is there just no jobs out there for me? My degree was in film and I only got a 2:2 so I’m not aiming super high sadly.

Question Thoughts on regeneration?

Hi There,

As part of my A level Geography course, I am studying the impact of the recent regeneration in Sheffield city centre (heart of the city)
I was wondering (for those aware of it) what your thoughts on it were, what the best aspect is, what still needs improving, or simply a couple of words to describe it.

Many thanks

Hey guys! Were Im being serious, a psych/prog rock band local to Sheffield. You may have caught us or just seen us walking about in our mad clothes. We’ve just released our debut album, the note, feel free to give a listen, or not, I don’t mind. There’s something in there for everyone (I think), our song Alltud I Annwn was actually largely inspired by hiking out in the peaks!

Wanted Hairdresser needed for serious colour correction

I’m looking for a hair dresser that is willing to take on a SERIOUSLY big task! My hair has been through hell and back and is currently 100 different colours - I think this would be a huge undertaking for any hair dresser so im just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for hairdressers in Sheffield who specialise in colour corrections.
I’ve been trying to do it myself as my hair has previously been dyed with henna and I know a lot of hairdressers won’t go near hair that has had henna on it. I have box dyed and bleached over the henna without it bursting into flames and melting off so I think it’s somewhat safe to dye but the ends are pretty damaged.
My main issue is that I have somehow managed to stain my VIRGIN roots with SEMI permanent dye which I can’t get out for the life of me.
I’ve tried everything I can so reckon it’s time to seek professional help😅

Thanks!

My daughter’s school is fundraising for new books / reading equipment, one student donated an old Jelly Cat which is apparently quite rare. If you’d like a chance to win it, and support the school please check the link below.

Question Could Sheffield be my home?!

Hi alll! I would love to hear your absolute favourite and least favourite thing about living in Sheffield.

Basically I’ve been living abroad since graduating down south nearly 10 years ago and am currently taking a 6 month career break travelling before moving back to the UK permanently. I’m obviously a totally different person than the one that left and am open to moving anywhere I think I’ll have a good life. My family has also moved so don’t have a “home town” as such (plus anywhere is closer than being on the other side of the planet like I am currently). I’m in privileged situation to kinda pick where I’d like to live and set up a base having no intensive ties.

-Building community is massive for me and being able to do things and meet up with people easily
-Nature for hikes massive +
-I’m a teacher so schools would be a factor (though open to career change)
- I’m looking to buy within the next few years.

I know I won’t get all the things I want but would love to know areas people genuinely love living. I’ve had colleagues from Sheffield and they loved it and Sheffield and Manchester always get thrown around as suggestion for moving “north”.

TIA for any insight!!!

No. I had to do it. And I didn't even know her! - he seemed so put out that he was even asked!
