Tickets for sale Spare ticket for Nosferatu (1922) at Beamish Museum tonight
Sorry if this is the wrong sub for a post about Beamish Museum.
Long story short my boyfriend wanted us to go see Nosferatu at Beamish, so I bought the tickets, but he now has labyrinthitis. My best mate said she would go instead but she has the flu. And all my other friends either don't want to go or have plans. So I have a spare ticket for Nosferatu (1922) at Beamish Museum tonight.
They were £29.50 each (and includes a goodie bag) but I don't want my extra ticket to go to waste, so I would be happy to sell it for less than that. You don't have to sit with me, or spend any time with me - I'm pretty okay about going alone. Just help me not waste the ticket.
Editing to add: the movie starts at 6pm, but I believe access to Beamish for the event starts from 4pm, and they expect people there for the event to make their way to the Grand Cinema from 5pm as much of the museum will be closed by then. Seats are unassigned as it's a traditional cinema.

Rats on Northumberland street!
Good afternoon, sorry it's not the best post to be reading, I have cycled 6 days a week though Newcastle to wrekenton for the last 12 years, I come down Northumberland street at around 5am I genuinely can't get over how many rats there is in the recent months. Northumberland street has always been bad but the last month it's totally over run I don't know whether it's something to do with the new street works. I work in the drainage industry and I am used to seeing rats but what I am seeing ATM is not normal. The way they run off the sleeping homeless is so sad.
Please bare in mind when your sitting on the seats on Northumberland street weil's disease is absolutely awful.
Please try not to give me there are rats all over there is a genuine problem here that needs to be sorted out.

New poster Post approved by the mods!
Hi everyone.
I’m Micky, a journalist and documentary producer at Hits Radio/Bauer Media. We used to be Metro and TFM Radio, and I’ve been reading the news here for around 15 years now.
I’m making a documentary called Drugs: There’s an App for That (working title), about how the illegal drug trade has moved onto phones and messaging apps.
I’d like to hear from someone who’s bought drugs online and feels comfortable talking about their experience. I’m not here to judge, and I’m not looking for tips on where to buy anything — that side of things is already covered in the documentary.
A decade ago, I made a documentary called DarkWeb: What Lies Beneath. I see this as a sequel of sorts, looking at how the drug trade has moved beyond the dark web and is now hiding in plain sight on everyday apps.
If you’re comfortable talking, drop me a DM. The interview would be pre-recorded, and you could take part anonymously. We can talk through how we’d protect your identity before you decide.
Feel free to message me if you’d like more info or have any questions before taking part.
Thanks for reading.

New poster Documentary open call
Hi All, I am a final year film student at Newcastle University (UK) working on a short documentary about sex work in the North, North East and Scotland (specifically Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh). I am just reaching out to see if anyone has any advice or connections to help my crew out with this topic. Any help would be really appreciated, thank you!

New poster Venue for crafty night out?
I work in a small team of 6. For our Christmas night out we would like to go for a meal in central Newcastle then find a venue that has space to do our own craft activity while also buying drinks (like a pub with a small room, or some kind of separate area or table). Really stuck for ideas of venues that might be suitable for the crafty/drinks part and would appreciate any recommendations.

It’s indeed a party city, lol. I’d say it’s met about 60% of my expectations.
I thought y’all were joking after checking out Tuesday night, I must say, there are actually so many people out looking well-dressed, and some smell incredible too. Comparable to Shoreditch in London, I must say.. The only problem is some people stare with passion like they trynna square up, whilst others won’t even make eye contact as if I am trynna steal from u. Like, what’s going on here. Also, the social life is decent enough for outsiders, I suppose. There seem to be very few opportunities to meet like-minded people, but we’ll make do.

Diesel specialist recommendations?
Hi everyone, I drive a ford focus 2009 duratorq and it's a diesel car.
It's been having this problem recently where when I leave it overnight it struggles to start the first time till I try again and then it starts but since the country has gotten colder it's worsened where sometimes I have to try up to thrice before it starts. My mechanic said the problem was with the glow plugs and I already got them but he said it was risky trying to replace it as it might snap.
So I'm wondering if anyone has a diesel specialist in Newcastle that does this kind of job or has encountered this problem
All recommendations will be appreciated
Thank you

New poster Any tilers in Newcastle looking for a helper who wants to learn the trade?
Hi everyone, I’m 30yo looking to change careers and get into a trade, ideally tiling, although I’d also be interested in learning bricklaying.
I’m originally from Lithuania and have lived in Newcastle for the past 10 years. I speak fluent English and Lithuanian and have a valid DBS check.
I’ve worked since I was 16, starting on potato and corn farms, then spending a year with a construction company in Lithuania, mainly helping with preparation for deep drilled foundations. I also have plenty of hands-on painting and decorating experience, including filling cracks, preparing surfaces, priming and getting a proper finish.
At the moment I work in e-commerce for a charity, alongside experience running my own eBay business. But I really enjoy practical work and want to build a career where I can learn a proper trade and take pride in what I’ve made.
To be upfront, I’m a beginner at tiling. I’m looking for someone experienced who could use a helper and would be willing to teach me as we go. I’m happy to start with the basics: carrying materials, mixing, cleaning up, preparation and whatever else helps the job along. I’m used to physical work, enjoy DIY and care about getting the details right.
If you’re a tiler or bricklayer looking for an extra pair of hands, or you know someone who might be, I’d really appreciate a message. Happy to meet for a chat and discuss a trial day.
Thanks, Gabe.

New poster children’s charities - soft toys
Anyone know of any children’s charities etc that would take second hand soft toys? I’ve got a few bags of Kenji toys in perfect condition. Most Xmas drives/ charities i’ve seen online only want brand new items.
I’ll end up dropping them off at a charity shop in town if I don’t find anywhere, but I’d like to take them somewhere they’d be more appreciated if possible.
Also a quick shout out to the charity Smart Works, I’m dropping some interview-style clothes off there - they help unemployed women find work! If you have any second hand shirts/ shoes/ bags/ coats, they would gladly take them.
