AVOID POTENTIAL SCAMS

Please use caution when buying and selling and beware of scams, we do not take any responsibility and will not be able to help. * Please reply to sellers below even if taking the transaction offline, this verifies you are not banned and provides evidence of the transaction * It is strongly suggested to use PayPal Goods & Services as this comes with Buyer Protection at a small fee. DO NOT USE PAYPAL FRIENDS AND FAMILY * For tickets it is recommended to use legitimate ticket re-sell sites as these protect both the buyer and seller (Some listed below). * If buying directly do your own research, this guide is a good start. Is the users account established with legitimate recent and historic activity, is there a way to validate the tickets before purchasing and are the tickets allowed to be re-sold (transferable).

Re-sell sites: Twickets | Tixel | Stub Hub | See Tickets Fan To Fan

Ark at ee Anyone missing a pheasant in BS6?

Post image

I was not expecting this on my walk home. It didn't seem injured and flew away when we got close.

Edit: It's obviously wild, since nobody got my slight joke in the title. It's just very weird to see a pheasant in an urban environment!

News Mum & baby threatened in Stokes Croft

Hi there, yesterday I had my young baby in a carrier on my front (for context I am a short woman) and was walking down Stokes Croft. I pulled in next to a metal box near the canteen in order to respond to a message out of the way of foot traffic.

A woman carrying a can approached me and asked where the nearest phone box was. I said “ I am not sure sorry, maybe that way towards town” and then she wanted to use my phone and her demeanour became unnerving and said “you are going to hell” etc.

At this point I was scared so I begun stepping round out of the place I was kind of backed into and towards the canteen. Her behaviour became more confrontational and mocking so I put my hands up and said “please, you are scaring me, I have a baby” to which she snorted and then launched herself towards us.

Fortunately I had been gradually stepping away so had space to turn and run. I heard loud metallic bang behind me (I think maybe she kicked something or tripped on something) and angry shouting / screaming as I ran away.

The staff inside were lovely and looked out for us until my partner came to pick us up, as I was pretty shaken up. My partner said that someone in the canteen said that there had been other incidents involving a woman accosting people with children in the area.

So I wondered if anyone has seen or heard of anything similar in the area or thinks they may have encountered the same woman?

Where To? Recommendations for a LGBT Pub in Bristol

I haven't been out on the gay scene, since before COVID and the pubs I used to go to (including the Pineapple and Lounge) have long closed...and am looking to put that right next weekend...

Any recommendations on where is popular for a gay man in his 40's...

Was thinking of the Old Castle Green in

Old Market...

Balloons My painting of Bristol "Late to the Airshow" (2026) - I've not found a single art shop that wants to display it!

Post image

My oil painting of a chap who got there a little too late to see the show. (90cm x 60cm, Oil on Canvas)

I've not found a single gallery that wants to stock or display it! I suppose not a big complaint really as a lot of the Bristol art scene enjoys graphic design (which I enjoy too) more than traditional fine art, but I've been struggling for an audience for those who do like this style.

Where To? Local Framers Recommendations

Recently got some canvas art prints to put up around the house and after many years of Ikea, Wilko and other cheap, clip or mass produced frames we would like some locally made, proper frames to display them in. The prints aren't super fancy or anything so not after anything wildly ornate or intricate, but would like something of better quality than off-the-shelf options, with real glass and in the correct size and dimension of the prints.

I can see there are a few local options from a web search (Parkside, Niche Frames and Framing Factory amongst a few others) but has anyone here used any of them before or have any recommendations? Alternatively, is there anywhere we should avoid and if so, why?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Thank you everyone, really appreciated. A couple of options seem to be quite highly recommended, but will have a look at every one that has been suggested below. Thanks again.

News Don't try to get onto the M32 into the city.

(Friday 16:50) I'm assuming there's been an accident cos the M32 heading into the city is at a standstill. Everyone's engine is off and several emergency vehicles have gone past us. I would recommend finding an alternative route.

Housing Any recommendations for affordable removal companies in Bristol?

Hi everyone,

We’re moving in early November.
We don’t have a huge amount of furniture and we’ll be packing all the smaller items ourselves. We mainly need help moving everything and dismantling/reassembling a few pieces of furniture.

We’ve had a quote from AnyVan, but I’d like to compare a few local companies before booking.

Has anyone used a reliable and reasonably priced removal company in Bristol recently? Roughly how much did you pay?

Thanks.

Where would you recommend central to Bristol to go study?

I like to get food and drink whilst I study but ideally somewhere not too busy on a weekday and open to the early evening

Where To? Anyone from Bristol go to London for West End musicals? 🎭

Anyone from Bristol go to London for West End musicals? 🎭

Hi! I'm 22 and I'm looking for someone from Bristol or nearby who enjoys West End musicals and fancies going to London for shows together!

I love seeing two shows in a day to make the most of the journey, but I'd really like to find someone who I could plan trips with and travel home alongside, especially for evening performances. (The underground makes me nervous!)

I'm particularly keen to see Beetlejuice before it leaves the West End, but I'd also love to see Hadestown and Hamilton with their new casts, but I'm not overly fussy!

I'd to meet someone who shares my love of theatre and make a friend to go to shows with. 🫶🏻

Where To? As someone who doesn't really have family in the UK and is looking for a bustling city like London, would you recommend bristol?

For context I work in Leicester and while it has been decent initially I've fully grown out of it and need a change. I want to go London desperately but am struggling to get a job there and so wondered if bristol might be able to replicate what I'm looking for..

27M so the demographic I'm looking for is young professionals really.

Moved semi recently to Bristol, used to play regular blood on the clock tower games, but have not found anywhere since moving here and wanted to know if there are any groups or places that have regular games that I could get involved with?
