Babble Call to prayer every morning in Montpellier?

I live in Montpellier and every morning I hear Arabic chanting. I am hesitant to say it’s the local mosque as it’s close to a mile away as the crow flies so it feels unlikely it’s them - although if it is it would almost certainly warrant a noise complaint based on how clearly I can hear it.
I’ve see old posts from describing a guy riding around with loudspeaker playing it in north Bristol.

Does anyone actually know where this comes from?

Where To? Christmas Markets

Hey beautiful people of Bristol :)

Are there any Christmas markets that’s still accepting applications for local small businesses. I am just launching a small business and would love to sell in markets but didn’t realise a lot of applications closed. So if you know of any markets good for small local businesses let me know. Thank youuuuu in advance 🙏🏽😊

Big fan of Bristol girl here 👋🏻 I'm now wondering if there's a group specifically for international women in Bristol. Does anyone know of such group?

Free! Blind boy Tickets - Free

Hello Bristolians, would anyone like 2 x tickets to see Blindboy at the Beacon tonight? We’re in Leeds and planned to travel down but something came up. I don’t want anything for them, except for them to go to somebody who actually wants to attend and won’t sell em on. It’s tonight Thurs 22nd, doors at 19:30. Anyone who comments I’ll draw at random, probs around lunch time.

Babble Volunteer to host your own social!

Could your area benefit from a Wobbly Social? 🧡

We’ve built a lovely community here in Bristol and now we want to make sure people outside Bristol have the same opportunity to find their people.

That’s where you come in!

We’re looking for volunteer hosts in Bath, Somerset & South Gloucestershire who’d like to help us bring Wobbly Socials to their local community.

You don’t need to be an events organiser or have any previous experience. We’ll give you full training, help you find a venue, promote your social and support you throughout.

All we ask is around 2 hours a month to host something you enjoy. It could be a coffee, a craft session, a games night or something completely different. We’re always open to ideas!

You bring the enthusiasm. We’ll help with the rest.

And because we believe cost shouldn’t be a barrier to connection, our socials are designed to be affordable with most events costing less than a fiver to attend and an additional 10% of spaces are reserved free of charge for people experiencing circumstances such as homelessness, domestic abuse, financial hardship, or displacement.

Our goal is simple: to make sure no one has to feel wobbly about socialising, wherever they are.

If you think you could help create a friendly place for people to meet, connect and make friends, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply to host your own social today.

Where To? Nature based volunteering

Morning, myself and my gf (both 24) recently moved to the city for employment from rural Shropshire. We both grew up in green spaces and are nature oriented people, and want to give back to the community/help with rewilding/green projects.

We wondered if there were many opportunities for weekend volunteering in local parks/woodlands. Currently we are based in BS7, so local opportunities (travel by bike) would be best. We would love to integrate into the community and support the green spaces here. Any suggestions are super helpful :)

Where To? Can you buy tickets at the door at the Prospect Building?

Wanted to go and see the Chameleons tonight but it was a late decision! Ticket sales have stopped (doors at 7) but it's not listed as sold out.

Does anyone know if I can buy a ticket on the door?
