Life gets busy in our 30s, and making new friends or building meaningful connections isn't always easy.
I'm looking to bring together a mixed-gender group of people aged 30 to 40 in Pune who'd like to meet like-minded people, build genuine friendships and have a community they can feel comfortable being part of.
Rather than creating another WhatsApp group that eventually goes inactive, I'd like to build this gradually.
The plan is to start with an invite-only, private Reddit community, have brief conversations with interested people, and get to know each other before eventually moving to WhatsApp.
As the community grows, I'd love for members to help shape it, suggest ideas and ensure it stays welcoming, respectful and authentic.
I'm not looking to build a huge group overnight. I'd rather start small and build something worthwhile with the right people.
If this resonates with you, feel free to DM me with your age, general area in Pune and a little about yourself.
I'm also open to constructive criticism, alternative ideas or suggestions on how to make this initiative better. This is just a starting point, and I'd love to hear what others think.
The idea is simple: fewer random acquaintances, more real connections. Let's build something good together. ЁЯЩВ

his happened at NIBM Road,
we all know how the rash driving of tankers and dumpers accidents in the vicinity have taken place.
this felt like a near death moment, so i was walking towards the rickshaw from my society gate and was crossing the road. i made sure to look in both directions, first a truck passed for which i waited and when i was crossing a big dumper truck came outta no where at sucha high speed and i jumped to save myself. thankfully i did that cuz it almost hit me, it didnt even horn or stop by, continued at the high speed. a few people nearby sat me down for a while and gave me water.
my heart beats are still fast and im honestly just a lil scared atp.

Why bikers in Pune ride like they own the road? Why such a pathetic level of traffic sense? Why they ride like snake? Even snake has discipline.

Chicken Cafreal (Goan Dish) - had this bunch of times and loved it
Chicken Kosha (Kolkata Dish, one in the photo)
This shop seemed always empty to me since it got opened. So thought of giving it a try and I'm a regular now. Try it out, I'd hate to see this one closing.
Firstly these Rajasthani-style Veg thali outlets like Sukanta and similar variation outlets (maharaja bhog, shahi bhog, etc etc) are not at all authentic Rajasthani cuisine. Secondly Their chinese items, nylong Khaman have exact same taste as any corner marwadi sweet shop. Taste wise these are generic as it gets. Nothing specific. That's the topic of this rant.
For a novelty experience it was good. I've been to these restaurants multiple times and they all are kind of serving similar style, taste food. It seems a similar management is handling these food outlet. Some say these are inspired by Gujarati cuisine or flavor. Nope, as actual Gujarati cuisine is different.
There are few renowned veg-thali outlets, which have their signature style food. Distinguishable. which i respect.
Since many years, I avoid them. These outlets are not bad, they just lack the soul, authenticity.

Location: Mega Center, near Magarpatta Chowk, Hadapsar, Pune Company name used in the email: Vantor Info / Vantor Tech Info
I want to share my experience from todayтАЩs interview so that other freshers and job seekers in Pune can be careful and avoid potentially losing their hard-earned money.
I received an email from Vantor Info informing me that I had been shortlisted for the position of SQL / Python / Power BI Developer. ( I am experienced and currently working as AI Engineer and i am not flexing it buddy.)
The email looked professional and contained the following details:
The email also listed technical responsibilities such as SQL queries, joins, subqueries, stored procedures, database design, data modelling, and query optimization. Based on the details provided, I decided to attend the interview.
What happened when I reached the office?
When I arrived at the location, the surroundings and the condition of the place did not inspire much confidence. The premises looked poorly maintained and unclean compared with what I would expect from a professional recruitment office.
During the interaction, the HR representative was chewing gum and very very bad English .That alone would not prove anything, of course, but the overall experience became concerning because of what happened next.
They asked me only around 2тАУ3 interview questions. There was no substantial technical assessment that would normally help determine whether a candidate was suitable for a SQL, Python, and Power BI Developer role.
Then came the biggest red flag.
They asked me to pay тВ╣3,000!
After asking just a few questions, they told me to pay тВ╣3,000 and said that I would definitely get the job the following week.
Think about that for a moment.
A candidate attends an interview for a technical position, answers a couple of questions, and is then told to pay money to secure a job, with a promise that employment is guaranteed.
I was not comfortable with this.
So I deliberately asked them to give me some time. I told them that I would consider paying later, after receiving an official offer letter. I wanted to see how they would respond.
They refused to give me time and insisted that I had to pay the тВ╣3,000 within an hour itself.
That was the point when I became seriously suspicious.
Why should a candidate have to pay immediately to obtain a job? Why was there so much pressure to make a payment before receiving a formal offer letter or verifiable employment terms?
I did not pay them.
My conclusion:
Based on my personal experience, I believe this recruitment process showed serious red flags consistent with a possible job scam or a pay-for-placement scheme.
I cannot independently establish everything about the company or its legal status, so I am sharing exactly what happened to me rather than claiming that every detail has been officially proven.
However, asking a candidate for тВ╣3,000, promising a guaranteed job, and pressuring them to pay within an hour is enough reason to stop and verify everything before proceeding.
A professional-looking email and an interview invitation do not automatically mean that a recruitment process is genuine.
Advice for other freshers in Pune
If you are looking for your first job, please keep these points in mind:
I know how difficult the job search can be, especially for freshers who are attending interviews, preparing for technical rounds, and trying to start their careers. Nobody should feel pressured into paying money because they are afraid of missing a job opportunity.
I went there looking for a legitimate opportunity to use my technical skills. I left without paying, and I am sharing this experience so that others can make an informed decision.
Has anyone else experienced something similar at Mega Center, Hadapsar, Pune?
Has anyone received a similar interview invitation from Vantor Info or Vantor Tech Info and been asked to pay тВ╣3,000?
If you have had a similar experience, please share the details below. It may help other job seekers avoid the same situation.
Please share this with Pune freshers and anyone currently looking for a job. Verify first, pay nothing under pressure, and never let desperation for a job force you into a risky decision.

Wikipedia lists the USA, Israel, Mauritius, Australia, Canada, and Pakistan. I assume this list is outdated.
Where do Marathi speakers live outside India in 2026 and what would the ranking of these countries be?
Refer to official govt census or other govt data of foreign country wherever possible.
Edit: UK: Based on the 2021 UK Census data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), exactly 11,028 people in England and Wales recorded Marathi as their primary or preferred main language.
Edit: Canada: According to the official 2021 Census of Population released by Statistics Canada, there are 19,565 people in Canada who reported Marathi as their mother tongue
Edit: Australia: According to the official 2021 Australian Census data compiled by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), there are 22,263 Marathi speakers living in Australia.
Edit: New Zealand: 2023 Census: The census officially recorded 5,523 Marathi speakers living in New Zealand.
