Is it normal to have recalls and then have the dealer decide they not need repaired?
This week I took my ‘26 F150 & ‘17 Mustang GT to the dealer for recalls. I bought the truck last month and got a recall notice for the fuel tank strap maybe two weeks later. The mustang has had two recalls that were probably 2-3 years old atp. One for the “Front Seat Belt Anchor Pre-tensioner Cables” the other for the rear view camera image (which imo should have qualified for the repair because the quality is shit.)
I brought them in on separate days, the truck was ready after 30 minutes but was quoted an hour on it (probably because it’s new new)
When I dropped the Mustang off they said it was likely not going to be ready until the next day due to the recalls it had. But then after only two hours I received an inspection report saying it needed a new oil pan and oil change paired with a heavy estimate of course, but that the recalls did not need repaired.
Idk I’m just apprehensive because in the past when I had recalls on my non ford vehicles the dealers did the remedies just because the vins were included so I thought that was standard practice?

I mean it's close enough to the real car LOL. I recently found it at my local Dollar General and I was really intrigued when my dad showed it to me. I was like yes I want that.
A long time ago I even got a 1970 Ford Bronco Matchbox from one of my teachers before I graduated Middle School.
Showing these two side by side shows how we came a long way.

It just fills with heavy clay dirt out where I live and I don’t know what purpose it serves other than maybe some arrow dynamic gain? It’s so full of dirt it looks like it’s about to tear off.

Hey folks.
I have a 2026 Explorer ST-Line that I bought in August and when I got it and was looking through settings I had found I could use Gemini AI instead of the default Google assistant for the native vehicle assistant (single press of the talk button). Yesterday I took it in for a recall for the computer and they reset it all and now the option to turn on Gemini instead of the not AI assistant is gone. I’ve tried everything but I can’t seem to get the option back under. I swear it was under Settings > Google > Voice Assistant before but it’s just not there.
Anyone had a similar experience and was able to get it back? I have my Google account logged in and anything else ChatGPT suggested like changing the language back and force and such.
Thanks!!

Hi, I recently bought a 2016 focus 1.0L eco boost. I changed the wet belt, but people have told me that it’s good to change the oil frequently to maintain the wet belt. I can’t find any guidance of a duration or mileage for when to change it, has anyone got any guidance please?

On my way to get gas just now. Pulled up behind this black Escape, or so I thought. First time seeing an actual Kuga in the States. We're right down the street from a dismantler, so this was likely a Ford fleet car that's about to get scrapped.

So I bought my f150 single cab from a dealership with the fox factory sr150 package (no whipple) and it comes with an exhaust layout going from stock cars, to a y pipe, straight back to a Gibson muffler with a dual exit behind the tire. I’ve been considering swapping to a louder setup and can’t decide if
A) I should remove the resonator
B) I should move the exit in front of the tire
C) and if the new muffler should be a borla atak crate muffler or flow master super 10.
Any help that you guys could give would be great!

Hello
I was looking to purchase an extended Ford / Lincoln Protect warranty for my vehicle. I was looking through the online dealer quotes and saw Flood Ford is the lowest out of all of them. The thing is though I can’t seem to find any option to finance the plan (instead of paying in full). I tried looking online but couldn’t find anything related to it. The Google AI summary claims that you can finance through Flood Ford with Budco Financial but I can’t find it.
Before people say “you shouldn’t be financing, you should be paying in cash”, or “if you can’t afford to pay in full, then don’t buy it”, or anything like that I prefer to finance as this isn’t a cheap product and I believe I can make my money work for me rather than dropping it all at once. I tried looking at Ziegler or Granger or Lombard but they are already charging higher prices for pay in full and they offer finance but it is EVEN more higher price to where it wouldn’t make sense to finance with them.
If anyone can provide guidance or help on what I can do please let me know. Thank you for your time and efforts. Have a nice day!

I know this is a car subreddit. But maybe someone around here also works in Ford Parts. We found this bolt and rivet tucked deep under dust and shelves. Havent been seen in over 10 years. Anyone know when these were in circulation?

There seems to be a lot of downvote fairies out n about. Or I have an angry little stalker. Oh whale. We went racing this past weekend and I definitely have the bug now if I didn't before. I'm just happy my car is a willing participant. She's done so much already. Forever impressed.
2013 Taurus : I’m facing an annoying issue with my car. During a cold start in the morning, the engine shakes, idles roughly, and there is a noticeable RPM fluctuation. However, as soon as the car warms up, the shaking completely disappears and everything goes back to normal.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue and found a fix? Could it be related to the ECT sensor, a vacuum leak, or the throttle body?
Any input or suggestions would be appreciated!

What’s up guys I have a 2019 f150 raptor with 90k miles and I was in the middle of about a 600 mile drive when a wrench came up in my dashboard. I went to an auto zone and they told me it was my wastegate actuators. I can’t build any boost so I’m assuming it’s stuck open. It does feel like it has significant less power but I was able to manage about 60 mph on the highway for like an hour after it popped up. Is this something I need to fix asap? Or can I just drive home without boost?

I am looking at new trucks. I have a dealer near me with a handful of 2025 trucks they are selling. They are all from Canada (I'm in the states). Most have only a few hundred miles on them. What's the deal?

Any word on Ford rolling out a Power-Up software update (OTA) to the vehicle’s onboard gateway and battery management software that enables open ISO 15118-20 DC discharge commands? I’m hoping they open this up to other bi-directional chargers and not stay locked in their Home Backup Power/ Delta systems proprietary solution.

First of I’m 18 yo and I live in Sweden, I’ve been working my ass of for years now and i bought a f10 535i its a great car but i dont want to destroy it this winter since i will be sliding a drifting around and since its my first time doing it im bound to crash the car, so I’ve looked around and found a neat little sierra ghia v6 thats pretty clean for around 2k$ ,im thinking that if i buy it im gonna build it into a “winter missile” I will weld the diff, suspension work and all the other good stuff so I can learn to drive a car sideways. I just wanted to ask if any of you know if these cars are any good for my intended position and if you done anything similar to a sierra? Or what I should look out for if I buy one!
