I got this 2026 Raptor R (803A) today. Coming from a 2023 Tundra TRD Pro. The difference is so night and day; hands down. I still can't believe I finally got one!

My first Ford truck but I previously owned a GT350 so not new to Ford.

Took home with plastic and window sticker still on!

24 801 trade for 25 802?

Considering trading in my 24 801 with 40k miles for a 25 802 with 15k miles and gold certified. The 802 is listed at $77.9 and they are offering $61k on my trade.

Looking to trade because I really like the look of the 802 wheels and modular bumper. Plus, fewer miles and a warranty are appealing.

Thoughts on this deal? Located in Florida.

Is $70.8k for a '24 F150 Raptor 802A with 18.5k miles a good buy?

Found a 2024 Raptor 802A with about 18,500 miles for $70,800. It has a clean history and it is a one owner. I'm close to pulling the trigger, but I want a gut check from people who actually follow this market.

From what I've seen, used Gen 3 prices with 802A and similar miles are 78k+. I can't tell if this one is a solid buy or if I'd be paying for being impatient.

Curious what you all think:

  1. Fair price, overpriced, or a good deal?
  2. What have you seen similar trucks actually sell for, not just listed at?
  3. Do you think prices drop further over the next few months, or is now a decent time to buy?

Appreciate any input šŸ¤™

2022 F-150 Raptor 3.5 EcoBoost hit 273°F transmission temp — previous overheat warning in vehicle history. How concerned should I be?

I recently bought a 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor with the 3.5L EcoBoost. It currently has around 72,500 miles.
I noticed the transmission temperature climbing while accelerating hard and going uphill on the freeway. At one point, the gauge reached 273°F while I was traveling around 80 mph in approximately 92°F weather.
After I eased off the throttle, the temperature dropped within a couple of minutes.
Here’s what concerns me: I checked the vehicle’s history and found a previous ā€œPowertrain Malfunction / Reduced Powerā€ alert dated before I purchased the truck. The alert states that the transmission fluid had overheated and the powertrain system reduced engine power. I never received this alert myself, but I have experienced the high transmission temperature.
I haven’t noticed consistent power loss, slipping, or other obvious transmission symptoms.
My questions for Raptor owners and anyone familiar with the 10R80 transmission:
1. Is 273°F a temperature you’ve experienced under heavy acceleration or uphill driving, or is that abnormally high?
2. What could cause the temperature to spike like this and then drop within a couple of minutes?
3. Should I suspect a transmission cooler issue, fluid problem, sensor issue, or possible internal transmission damage?
4. Has anyone experienced something similar and resolved it without replacing the transmission?
5. What diagnostic tests would you recommend getting done first, and what did your repairs cost?
I’m trying to figure out the smartest next step before spending thousands on unnecessary repairs. I plan to have it properly diagnosed, but I’d appreciate hearing from people who’ve dealt with this firsthand.
Thanks in advance.

Weird static noise

All of a sudden this weird static noise is coming from somewhere in the passenger area. I checked to see if it came from the speakers but it doesn’t seem to be coming from any speakers, that i can hear from atleast. Anyone have this issue before?

Does a 660 lb rating matter when two people step on the board?

A 660 lb load rating sounds reassuring, but I am trying to understand how it translates to a long board supported at several mounting points. Has anyone noticed flex or bracket movement when two adults use a powered step at the same time?

Sunroof wind noise

Looking for some advice from anyone who’s dealt with this issue.

I’m getting extremely loud wind noise from my sunroof at speeds of 45 MPH and above. Ford diagnosed it as the water drain track/trough, which I’m assuming is the horizontal plastic piece that runs across the sunroof assembly.

My local Ford dealership quoted me $733 to replace it.
Before spending that kind of money, I’m wondering if anyone has successfully repaired it themselves or found a temporary fix. I’ve searched Google and various forums but haven’t found much regarding DIY repairs.

Has anyone tried replacing the foam weatherstripping, adding additional seals, or securing the existing track to eliminate the wind noise?

Any recommendations or experience with this issue would be appreciated. I’d rather not spend $733 replacing a plastic piece if there’s a simpler solution.

Raptor R Backfiring?

New to me 2023 R seems to have a backfire and it may be normal but it's a bit odd. It happens somewhat often on deceleration. It's not the awesome burble - it's a fairly loud single pop backfire sound. No CEL and other performance seems great.

Other R owners - does this happen to you?

On a side note, I just picked this one up. 45,000 miles with Platinum warranty until 120,000 miles for $88k. I was looking to get a lower mile V6 gen 3 again but this seemed like a decent deal, at least here in Arkansas. If it was a bad deal, don't tell me. :-)

Difficulties with electrical repair, any advice?

hi guys. here's some basic info before i get into the details of the current problem. i also provided a video for reference

i purchased a 2014 gen 1 with an extended warranty about 3 years ago. it has about 140k miles on it and had the ignition coils, spark plugs and ball joints replaced since i purchased. fuse 27 has been swapped out and the last battery i had purchased for it was in dec 2025.

now the details

in late august, my truck would crank no start. the original suspicion was a battery after diagnostics, which ruled out the starter and the alternator. i went and swapped the battery (og battery 1) at the local ford dealership for a new motocraft battery (battery 2). ford dealership said the battery (og battery 1) was dead. new battery (battery 2) is put in the truck. truck works fine for a drive home. it sits overnight and dies again. same symptom of a crank no start. truck is taken back out to the shop and they say battery (battery 2) is dead again. i swap out another battery (battery 3) and the guy working in parts at the ford dealership told me to take the battery (battery 3). he called me about 10min after leaving that the battery (battery 2) i had brought back did not test dead. i drop off battery 3 to the shop and told them that battery 2 did not test as a dead battery.

the past two weeks have been them deciding that the PCM is the problem. they replaced the PCM last week and kept the truck over the weekend to make sure it was solved. i receive a call monday that they need to do further diagnostics because the truck died again over the weekend. they are saying that there are 3 modules that they need to test while the truck is "asleep" in order to see which is drawing power.

i was wondering if anyone has any idea as to what is going on or has experienced this with their own truck. any advice or insights would be wonderful 😭

Update: I received a call from the shop and they believe it is the wire for the backup camera causing the issues. they are going to keep it over the weekend to make sure there are no other parasitic draws

I think I have a serious problem - I can't stop thinking about the F-150 Raptor R..

Alright guys, I have to get this off my chest.

The F-150 Raptor R is hands down the most beautiful, insane, perfect truck ever built. I mean, look at that thing. The wide as hell stance, the 37s, that hood with the giant vents, the CODE ORANGE color, and that supercharged 5.2L Predator V8 from the GT500 screaming with 700+ hp.

Every time I see a video of it in Baja mode just eating desert, or hear that cold start that literally shakes the ground, I get goosebumps. It's not even a truck anymore, it's a street legal trophy truck with a luxury interior.

I drive a normal car now but I swear I check Marketplace / YouTube / Instagram for Raptor Rs like 10 times a day. I have more pictures of this truck than of my friends on my phone lol.

One day. ONE DAY I will have one parked in my driveway. I don't even care if gas goes to $10/gallon. I will daily the hell out of it.

Anyone else here obsessed to this level? Show me your Raptor R so I can be even more jealous.

SoCal Gen 2 Raptor Owners: 10R80 Rebuild Costs & Reliability?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I have a 2018 Gen 2 Raptor with about 115k miles and it looks like I’m probably going to need the transmission rebuilt or replaced.

I’m mainly trying to hear from people in SoCal who have already gone through this, either at Ford or through a private transmission shop. I’m trying to figure out what it actually cost, how long the work took, and whether the repair actually held up.

A few months ago the truck passed 100,000 miles, so it’s barely out of warranty. Then out of nowhere the transmission started acting up while I was driving up to Big Bear. It started jumping in and out of gears, jumping RPM's, feeling like it was slipping, then catching again and driving normal for a bit before doing it all over again. It almost felt like it was going into a weird limp mode.

Before this happened, there was basically no warning at all.

The two codes I’ve seen are:

  • P0762 - Shift Solenoid C Stuck On
  • P2705 - Transmission Friction Element F Apply Time Range / Performance

Ford also referenced TSB 25-2475 for the issue.

I already contacted Ford Customer Care and went through their assistance process. They didn’t help at all and told me there were no programs available to assist with the repair.

Ford’s original quote was somewhere in the $12k range, which is insane. To their credit, they did work it down pretty hard and got it to around $9.5k. At that price, I’m still probably not doing the work there.

I also spoke with a transmission shop in the Van Nuys that quoted me about $5,700 and basically told me to plan for around $6k to be safe. The guy seemed to know this transmission really well and mentioned there are a few known failure points that he normally addresses with upgraded aftermarket parts instead of just throwing the same OEM parts back in it. I don’t remember exactly which three parts he called out, but that part of the conversation definitely got my attention.

That’s really what I’m trying to figure out now. If I’m going to spend this kind of money, I don’t want to rebuild it and then end up right back in the same spot because the same weak points are still there.

Also, from everything I’ve found, this issue seems pretty widespread. There was even a federal class action lawsuit filed back in 2019 over these transmissions in F-150s, so this definitely doesn’t seem like some rare one-off problem.

For anyone in SoCal who has already dealt with this:

  • What did your rebuild or replacement cost?
  • What year was your truck when it happened?
  • Did you go through Ford or a private shop?
  • How long did the work take?
  • What kind of warranty did you get?
  • Did they use upgraded parts or just OEM replacements?
  • Most importantly, did the repair actually fix the problem long term?

I’m in the San Gabriel Valley but I’m open to towing it anywhere in the SoCal area for the right shop.

Raptor R on 35s?

Hey folks. Looking at trading my 2023 raptor for a 2025 raptor R. My only hold up is my snow tires. I have a set of studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3s in a 315/70r17 for my current truck and would want to run them on the R. Am I gonna run into any issues with the smaller tire size in the winter?

Presumably I’d need to change the tire diameter, right? Can that be done with forscan?

I’m an avid skier and I’m shoveling friends and family out in blizzards, so dedicated snow tires are a must for me and these are the most confident tires I’ve ever had in the snow.

My tail lights were stolen and my horn doesn't work.

Ever since my tail lights were stolen my horn doesn't work. I had my oil changed the other day and was telling the story and the guy said they cut your wires but I can't find the horn anywhere on this 2025 Ford Raptor. Update: Went to former tech that worked with me and he found the wire. It was behind the louvers above the F in Ford.
