Discussion Another one for the books
I remember the team saying they had disagreements with this pick. This is one Vrabel wants back.

Discussion AJ Brown among 121 players w 20+ targets:
dead last in % of catches for 20+ yds (0)
#118 of 121 in receiver error (15%)
#118 of 121 in catch rate (45%)
#113 of 121 in EPA/target (-0.32)
#110 of 121 in yards/target (5.0)
Ik he’s coming off an high ankle sprain, but he also has a degenerative knee injury and has looked slow for 2 years now.
The Rams didn’t want to trade for him because they thought his knee injury was too much of a risk.
Did we get fleeced?

Discussion This was a team loss
Everyone is rightly pointing fingers at the defense; their zones were horrible, missed tackles all night, could not stop burden, obviously I could go on and on.
But they did get two consecutive stops in the 2nd half and the offense did fuck all against a pretty bad bears defense. Could not even get into a 4th and manageable, and then killed themselves with penalties and a long sack. Bad on third down again.
Offense needs to be more consistent thru all 4 quarters to be elite, buffalo has a horrible defense and yet they are 5-1 from consistently elite offense. No running game, still iffy vs blitz packages, way too many three and outs today. We need this offense to be top 5

Discussion The selection immediately following Treveyon Henderson in the 2025 NFL Draft was Luther Burden.
I discovered this by looking up who was picked soon after Henderson following in this game watching Henderson being moved to the line by Maye to help in pass protection only to fall flat on his face and Maye got sacked.

Casual Nah I’m good
Patriots reaction every time the Bears tried to hand them the game. From the early conservative play calling to Gonzales playing 15yds off the ball when they need a stop to AJ Brown just giving up on a late throw into the end zone. This was a weak performance in a game the bears were trying to hand them.

Discussion Quenton Nelson or Josh Downs?
Obviously I’m still pretty annoyed by tonight’s loss, and it was for sure much more on the defense than the Offense, but we gotta make a trade before the deadline. This team is decimated by injuries (Thank God most of them not long term) but would you guys rather have Josh Downs or Quenton Nelson? After the pass protection tonight I’m leaning more towards Nelson but with Downs previous connection with Maye back in college, I’d be happy with that as well. Let me know what you guys think

Discussion Dare I say...
we got outcoached by the current best head coach in the league? i dont think thats a crazy claim to make.
and we still nearly won, while also being battered by injuries. we'll be fine. we weren't really probably gonna win the fight for the #1 seed, so the season really just comes down to winning the division and getting healthy by december.

Discussion Zach Kur, wtf?
I’m so confused by his scheme, why are we playing soft coverage on 3rd and short, why is Marcus jones on Loveland when he clearly is not a good physical matchup. Horrible planning this week. Dont even get me started on McDaniels and his half back dive on 3rd and 6 with a loaded box.

Discussion What’s going on with Spillane?
Dating back to last year me and my buddy started complaining about Spillane missing tackles and playing poor pass coverage. Now it’s all I can see. Every time there’s a big enough play from the offense to warrant a slo-mo replay he’s almost always there to explain what went wrong.
It could be failing to set the edge or commit inside correctly in the run game, missed tackle, playing over the top in pass d when he should be more underneath and vise versa, a sorry 1x1 tackle where the ball carrier gets 4 more yards, a poor blitz attempt where Caleb throws over Spillane before he is even engaged with the d line.
I love all of our players like family but man I think I desperately want someone new at MLB more than anything else. Am I just wrong or are others seeing this too?

Serious Caleb Lomu
The pats lost tonight 24-30 for a handful of different reasons. The defense was bad, Drake Maye threw an interception.
But what frustrated me the most, is the fact that on a night where the offensive line played very poorly including both starting tackles, our first round pick left tackle, who looked great the last two weeks filling in for Campbell and Moses, is on the bench while the offensive line gets destroyed.
This is malpractice and nepotism at its finest.
Edit: Okay, favoritism would've been the correct word, but my point still stands.

Casual I miss my Boutte
I really miss Kayshon Boutte! I legit think if we had Boutte out there the last couple of weeks he would have caught those deep bombs that hit Aj brown in the hands. Honestly wish we could trade back for him, he aint going to be doing much on Texans with all the Wrs they have on their roster
Edit: Yall crazy, I put this as casual cause its not that serious. I made this post because Boutte was out here (last year) trying his hardest and making a few athletic catches that Aj Brown has not done so far in 2.5 games (small sample size I know). Thats it! This is not me wishing we did not sign Aj. This is not me wishing we should actively trade for Boutte.
I get Aj is rusty and coming off in injury, but there were some signs in Philly last year with some of these drops that have me a little concerned
Also there have been a few plays this year were it seems Aj has not tried his best. 2 happened last night:
1 being a drop in end zone where, while yes the cb made an incredible play and broke up the play, but Aj was just hoping it would fall into his hands, he did not even try to make a jump for it. The other play being when Stevenson had long run in the red zone and Aj did not try to block at all. If Aj made that block Stevenson might have scored
This post is mostly about me reminiscing about the heart this team had last year at the wr position. The other part of this post is me just wishing Aj had a little more "gotta want it attitude"
Sorry if im totally off base. It just feels like Aj is not a big team player. I will still be rooting for this team every week and hope Aj will show up big soon!
Go Pats

Discussion Let’s take a look at how our 2025 2nd Round picks matched up last night:
Selected 38th Overall, TreVeyon Henderson: 3 rushes and 2 receptions for a total of 23 yards.
Selected 39th Overall, Luther Burden III: 1 rush and 4 receptions for a total of 137 yards and a touchdown.
I know Luther disappeared in the second half (thank you Gonzo) but man is it disappointing to keep missing on these swing for the fences type of picks.

Discussion This is the first time since probably the Super Bowl I’d put this loss squarely on Vrabel.
Vrabel got outcoached last night, simple as that imo. He took a risk early, but it was such a boneheaded one that ended up costing us the game.
Normally, I love Vrabel’s aggressiveness and his seemingly endless faith in the guys, but this wasn’t an unproven Jets squad you’re facing at home, this is a proven Bears team you’re on the road against, on a short week, all while your own squad’s injured to hell and back. Under those circumstances, you don’t go for it on a 4th and 5 at midfield and risk exactly what happened - gifting them an essentially free field goal.
That field goal is what ended up costing us in the end, because without it, that ending FG wouldn’t have put the Bears up two scores, and you wouldn’t have needed to worry about attempting an onside kick that nobody in the league has been successful at yet.
I love Vrabes, but man was that early 4th down a boneheaded risk he took that I genuinely believe cost us the game. There are more examples of it to you could point out, but that one’s the biggest imo.

Serious I love this team, but why did I stay up for the end of this game?
As soon as there was 7 minutes left in the 4th, I knew the Pats were going to blow this game. Just by punting the ball away and stupid penalties. Like, how did Spillane not get that sack in the Bears' end zone? This team has basically no clutch ability. (Barmore just got a sack)

Casual NFL is in good hands
Bears fan here, I know you guys don't need to hear it because you already know it but these guys are genuinely so fun to watch and will be must see TV for years to come (I really hope Drake gets some help on offense)

Discussion Christian Elliss didn't help us when we needed him.
I'm sorry, but Elliss really did cost us that game. The dude gave up two huge plays, missed a potential sack, and then gave up that crossing route because he wasn't playing his zone right.
I get it. Not everyone is gonna have a great game, but when we need a stop to get off the field, you gotta do your job. Those are the plays that matter the most, and he just wasn't getting it done. I'm not placing the whole blame on him, but the dude just seemed too excited to make something happen
Also, can someone explain to me what AJ Brown even does out there?? Like seriously, lol.

Discussion game thoughts
don’t understand the hate for Maye after this game, ppl just hate when it’s popular or convenient ig. yeah that one INT was bad but it wasn’t as costly as ppl think. too many mental errors both on offense and defense, Mcdaniels’ government mandated run-run-pass play calling and expected maye to bail us out ever possession, and Defense getting is what killed us, emphasis on the defense. In no way is it excusable to let up 400+ yards, allow long 3rd down conversions(especially the screen pass td on 3rd and 17 and ellis’ missed sack), forget how to tackle, and not force a single turnover.
