Hobby Safe my Black Orc's from the slaughter I'm committing NSFW
galleryHallo, I'm trying my, unfortunately, best to paint the skin or the miniature in general, I'm very new.
How is it ever possible to blend skin layers without looking so comically bad. I've heard the advice to water down paint, but when i do it, as soon as the brush touches the mini it splurges everywhere into bubbles and makes a mess. I'm trying to follow a squidmar tutorial (2nd image), where with just 3 colors that I also own, they make such amazing blends and highlights, mine looks like a green squig exploded right in front of his face.
I'm using a wet palette and synthetic brushes and I'm using a towel (and mouth yum) to remove the excess water from the brush.
IM REALLY TRYING TO GET INTO THIS HOBBY, I LOVE ORCS AND GOBLINS I NEED IT

Hobby Here is the result of my first painting session using exclusively Warhammer Tone Pro + some thoughts
I'll preface this by saying I'm a professional painter who owns maybe 700+ paints from about 12 different manufacturers!
My thoughts so far:
- The consistency is really nice and feels quite novel to use, the opacity even when thinned further is whacky and kind if feels like learning to glaze again because normal glaze consistency paint has too much opacity and can just completely eradicate any tonal work you've just done rather than tint/filter it.
- I would advice caution with your brush care, I noticed a lot of leeching into the base of the head because your spending longer amounts of time with very thin workable paint on your brush - I noticed a lot more debris needing removed after prolonged use with my brain dialled into how my paint normally behaves.
- Painting details like eyes/freehanding/tattoos is really nice when the paint wants to get off your brush as much as this paint does - I didnt feel the same time pressure to get the brush on to the model before my thinner small amount of paint dried.
- For me the biggest selling point is simply expediting basecoats on things like display level flesh etc. Perhaps gone are the days of 9 layers of glaze consistency fleshtone to get to the point of adding tonal variance etc when you can achieve the same opacity with two thin layers of this.

Hobby Cadian 8th sharpshooter. I'm still fairly new to painting minis so I'm really happy with how the face and eyes came out

Hobby Hot glue proxy!
Be brutal. I'm working on a hot glue reproduction of a deceiver (I made it female and with a small black hole in its hand) taken by the enthusiasm of having seen a guy who made all the extremely beautiful abstract hot glue tans (the warsinger if you're interested) It's still a wip but let's say I'm at a good point... what do you think?
I just placed the black hole, I still have to do all the smaller details but at least it has the shape 😅 the dimensions are of the original one

Gaming Objective question
The circled areas each have 2 terrain footprints which are connected. Do they act as 1 objective area, or do they each count as 2 objective areas?
Thanks in advance!

Discussion Would it be worth it to contact GW?
I recently purchased the AoS introductory box box and it was missing a Skaven. Would it be worth seeing if I could get a replacement piece.

Hobby Glowy Boy
Painted this guy up for a local competition. I really like how the little burning purity seal turned out. I might have to do some of those on the Legion of the Damned

Hobby So after some serious faffing on today's stream I managed to figure out how to finish the grungy yellow. After reducing the brightness of the yellow, it needed a new edge highlight. And then I got carried away with the chipping and scratches and just ended up finishing the yellows on all 3 Boyz.

Lore Purple loyalist space marines?
Are there any loyalist chapters/legions that have purple as their main colour scheme?
Purple is my favourite colour and I’ve only found the emps children but they’re traitors and me no heretic
