Clip FFB sim racing controller DONE RIGHT 🤯 (amazing new product)

** NEW VIDEO - FFB sim racing controller done RIGHT **

This game controller makes me question whether everyone actually needs a wheel and pedals. It’s going to allow those who can’t use their legs to compete at the highest levels with minimum compromise.

I want one.

Other made an engine-sound simulator that doesn't take much CPU, here's what the porsche mission s might sound like

the simulation is quite simplistic rather than a full-on physics-backed sim like angethegreat's one. this does mean it's cheap to run CPU-wise, this one's running in the browser. which means something like this could be used in sim engines.

lots of engine layouts are possible and sound (to my ears) fairly good, including rotaries! no 2-stroke engines yet. I'm also not quite happy with how the burbles/pops sound.

turbo stustustustu is there in some of the cars, as well as straight-cut gear whine, and supercharger whine in the r53 mini. I'll record some more clips demo-ing these.

the cool thing is plugging in configs from real engine parameters, and having the result sound pretty close to reality with a bit of parameter twiddling. the v10 for example has that major-3rd harmonic interval that sounds so cool.

I went a bit overboard and had too much fun with the doppler flyby feature, and a 'tunnel' toggle. and the silly engine animations.

edit: I am a software engineer and have been passionately creating side projects like this for over 10 years, pls don't let the sloppy ui distract from how cool these engines sound

Rigs Simulator made by Simforge for India's first Sim Training Center for Professional Racing Drivers.

I present to the community the Simulator made by Simforge for Switchback Racing. India's first Sim Training Center for Professional Racing Drivers.

Full Build Video - https://youtu.be/eQk8DXAXORY?si=EMvlTv9v1kg3bMCp

Simulator Before Restoration - https://youtu.be/-txFSOdLlHo?si=E4AnsS4jw0zOBDsX

This is a restomod of an existing simulator. https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/s/vH9M8L9kk0

The company acquired it from a driver who's ranked 2nd in INDIA as per the FIA website.

All the electronics like the amplifiers for the Haptics, the VRS Motor driver for the wheelbase, control box for the Heusinkveld Pedals, adaptor for the Fanatec Shifter etc are all under a compartment under the pedals. I've never seen a simulator with a compartment like this to house electronics on the Sim. Maybe the first time someone has done this (I could be wrong).

Compartment for Electronics under the pedals

This simulator has a piece of NASCAR history. The Yellow lug Nuts on the spring isolators are from a NASCAR cup series car which raced at Daytona in 2024. Making this simulator extra special. Here's reddit post I made about it . https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/s/TEdEzbOwtl

The rig is completely isolated from the floor which makes the haptics very immersive.

The Heusinkveld Pedal on this simulator are not in their original form. They were completely dismantled , restored, polished to a shine, serviced, modified before putting them back together. The results speak for itself and they look amazing. https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/s/CGK170TksA

Polished and Restored Heusinkveld Ultimate Pedals

This Sim has the VRS Direct force Pro wheelbase. Probably the best wheelbase I've experienced till now. Hard to choose between these and the Simcube Ultimate 2 Pro.

VRS Direct Force Pro Wheelbase

Using the Moza CS Pro wheel along with the MOZA universal Hub on this Sim.

One the best features of this sim is the RaceConsole Stream-XL button box made by Reaperware. Setup and adjustments are super easy with the Stream Deck XL. Highly Recommended . we also made a custom mount for it.

For safety , we made a dual button kill switch for the VRS Direct Drive. Dual button was necessary so both the operator and the user of the Simulator can cut off the torque in case of an emergency. As far as I know, there no OEM solution for this. We just made a custom kill switch for this . https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/s/zyvxr0W2z7

This simulator has the Fosi Audio SK02 DAC and the Beyerdynamic Dt 770 Pro Headphone. Headphones and DAC used by Audiophiles. For both of them custom mounts were designed. We also used the existing BOAT soundbar and mounted it on the monitor stand.

It's got the Fantec Clubsport Shifter and 6x Dayton Audio BST-2 Bass shakers. The bass shakers are directly installed on the seat. This way the vibrations area localised and very distinctive.

Fanatec Shifter
Dayton Audio BST-2 Bass Shaker

The Monitor stand has a hood on top of it. It made of one piece of Aluminium. It shifts the perspective and makes it very immersive. The first thought that came to mind after installing it was the "Batmobile".

The bezel free kit and the monitor alignment using the Vesa Adaptor Kit make the screen perfectly blend in . Would Highly recommend the Bezel Free kits for anyone using triple screen monitors.

Cable management on this Sim took as much time as assembling it. A member of the community gave the valuable advice of adding service loops to cables.

Rigs My Custom Designed Button Box Bracket

Post image

My rig is not aluminum profile so I am limited to the accessories I can use. Good thing I have a 3d printer and a general knowledge of 3d modeling.

The Amazon gated shifter only came with a cylinder shift knob so I also printed a spherical knob as well.

Rigs Custom Stream Deck Mount for My Sim Rig 🤣

I wanted to add a control box, but I prefer using a Stream Deck because I can customize the icons on the buttons for each game. I use a shifter from SimTorq, and since my rig is an NLR Victory, I didn’t have anywhere to mount the Stream Deck. So I designed my own mount and attached it to my shifter. The result turned out pretty good, lol. 🤣

Rigs Custom Wheel with buttons in MOZA QR on ESP32

https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/1fv58il/comment/pgzhoen/?screen_view_count=2

Inspired by this post, I built a custom steering wheel—powered directly by the R9 base—in less than a week. My VR sessions have become much more comfortable now. While I still need a mini keyboard, I’ve managed to get the essential key bindings back onto the wheel itself. (I spent a long time using a T300 with an adapter for a 330mm rim that retained the original buttons, and after switching to the R9, I really missed having them.)

I ordered buttons from AliExpress sized to fit the holes on a Momo Prototipo rim (a very popular choice)—specifically 15mm, 20mm, and 10mm sizes. I also picked up a 30mm button for the center (yes, the horn actually works; I use it via the "Dynamic Return" app in Assetto Corsa). I also got two ESP32 Mini boards, some heat-shrink tubing, a soldering iron, and relied on my basic soldering skills.

Using Reddit and a multimeter, I figured out the voltage the base supplies to the pins—it turned out that 3.5V wasn't enough to power the Bluetooth functionality on the ESP32. Not to be discouraged, I headed to the store and bought an automotive charger, and I tried to step down the 12V from the base for the ESP32. It worked once, but unfortunately, the board short-circuited and started heating up. The next day, I got hold of some Mini 360 step-down modules, set them to 5V, and soldered them to the ESP32. Google’s AI (Chat) helped me put together the firmware, and the device now shows up as a Bluetooth gamepad.

Pogo pins are on their way, but for now, I’ve just used some multi-strand copper wire—tinned with solder—and it’s working perfectly. I made the center part out of a piece of a cardboard box!

Don’t be afraid to experiment; the results might just surprise you.

I can send the files via private message if you’d like)God Luck!

Question Pedals feel uncomfortable. Can someone help?

Post image
19 Upvotes

Can someone that knows a thing or two about ergonomics help me out? I just installed a new set up moza pedals and can’t get them to feel good. I feel like I’m a correct distance from the wheel. On the brake my ankle starts to hurt on the marked area and my knee after a little bit. Seems a little too close. But the throttle seems like it’s too far away.

Rigs 3D Printing Tilting Heel Cups - Who tried them?

Post image
16 Upvotes

On the SimExpo I saw these pedals and was intrigued by the tilting heel cups. Now it may specifically have to do with Coanda drivers using them, given they are the fastest.

I own Simsonn pedals and I like them very much, I see no reason to upgrade. I found this 3D printing file and I would like to know whether someone owning the Simsonn or the Simjack pedals actually tried printing and attaching them. How/what was your experience?

Other Alright, fellas. I got the moza r5 yesterday as a first ever base. This what i think today

• Upvotes

Well, first of all i was extremely excited. I pulled that baby for 295 bucks in a PERFECT condition. Except for the dust. But setting this aside, here what was my first impression once i felt the torque and drove the car: "Oh damn? Does this car has no power-assisted steering?" because, well, it felt exactly like a car with electrical power-assisted steering that got it overheated and turned off. Before getting the base myself i thought that 5 nm of torque - was not much. Well it was completely false. It's just barely easier then no power-assist car. I would say that car with no power-assisted steering feels like... about 7 nm of torque. In comparison. It was uncomfortable, a little hard at first, yes, but i declined myself from lowering power output less then 80%, because it's the only connection i have to the road. And... Well damn thing makes my table shake when i drive on the grass like i'm offroad for real, lol. But most important thing - understeering. At first i wasn't able to feel the moment it happens at all, but with circle after circle i was shoked that i finally felt it. It was amazing, ngl. And i thanked my previous self for not lowering output less then 80%, it was SO subtle, i don't thing i could have felt it on lower settings. And also, there was a moment in a turn that i was flabergausted by: i started to spin out, so i gave up on holding the wheel, but forgot to stop giving more throttle, and i barely lowered the throttle, and suddenly i was freaking drifting in the corner, managed to have a good entery and somehow impoved the actual lap time by a whole second.

Well i most certainly don't regret money spent, and i'm now aware just how actually HARD this is. I love it. And for anyone wondering about the game: assetto corsa.

Question Which Bucket Seat for my Alu Rig

Danke!

Clip CONSPIT CHS Shifter + H-APEX Handbrake — Real-World Sim Racing Review

I've been testing the CONSPIT CHS shifter and H-APEX handbrake, and put together a review covering their build quality, feel, and how they perform in actual sim racing.

The CHS supports both H-pattern and sequential shifting, so I'm particularly interested in how people feel about its dual-mode design compared with other shifters in this price range.

For those using a dedicated shifter and handbrake setup, what matters most to you: mechanical feel, adjustability, durability, or value for money?
I'm a sim racing creator from South Korea, and the full video is in Korean.

Question Upgrading from an R5: MOZA R12 V2 bundle vs SIMAGIC Green Flag?

• Upvotes

Just sold my MOZA R5 and am looking for the best-value upgrade. Debating between the R12 V2 with the CS V2P round wheel and the SIMAGIC Green Flag bundle with the Alpha EVO Sport 9 Nm and NEO X-330R round wheel.

I already have SIMSONN Plus X pedals that I’m keeping, so I’d probably sell any included pedals to bring the overall cost down.

I mostly race Miata Cup, but I’m looking to branch into GT3 and other GT racing. I want to stick with a round wheel for versatility, with enough buttons and rotary controls for the other cars.

For anyone who’s used both, how do they compare in actual force-feedback feel, software, reliability, and wheel quality? Is the R12’s extra torque/headroom the better buy, or would you take the SIMAGIC package?

I’m pretty budget-conscious, so looking for the best bang for the buck rather than getting talked into something twice the price šŸ˜‚ Especially interested in firsthand comparisons of these newer bases rather than the older R12 or Alpha Mini.

Question Are there any 3x screen mounts for 22ā€œ?

• Upvotes

I am moving into a new room, with finally enough space for a triple screen setup. I got 3 22ā€œ monitors for free (not the newest but idc), but I just can’t find any monitor stand for 22ā€œ monitors. Just the trak racer one, but tbh, it’s a bit expensive for me. Are there any other ones I can’t find, any other solutions like a trick to make 3 22ā€œ work? I am relying on you guys, I need your help!

Rigs Quad monitor mount question - Uk

• Upvotes

I have a sim lab p1x integrated monitor mount. I am looking to get the quad monitor mount but it has a hefty delivery cost to the Uk. Where quad monitor mounts from brands such as trak racer are available on Amazon at a much cheaper rate.

The question is. Will it fit my monitor mount as it seems to be the same time of aluminium profiling. Has anyone else combined seperate brands?

Thanks in advance!

News Race Room upcoming big update!

Looks like on 20th Race Room is getting a lot of new updates:

  • UI update (menus)
  • FFB update/fixes with new settings
  • OpenXR support
  • historical spa, laguna seca...
  • rolling starts
  • menu wheel support
  • new vehicle dashboards
  • ...

Looks very interesting to me. I stopped playing it as I had no love for its FFB and SteamVR, but I will try it out.

Just leaving this here in case others are unaware about this, like me.
