It started at a 91 on release, before settling at an 89 once a lot of reviews started coming in. Now it's gone back up!

Every complaint I have with 3 kingdoms was completely fixed. The biggest issue was the graphics, the free roam area feeling pointless and the class system.

It's true that FE isn't perfect but no fire emblem is. FE 9 probably being the closest but even still it has monumentally less content than FW does.

FW is by far the biggest and longest fire emblem I've ever played. I'm doing every side quest on every route and it's incredibly time consuming.

Meanwhile they just casually announced DOUBLING THE PLAYABLE PATHS.

Does it have problems? Yeah. The support system can feel too large. You should start with Kai and the game doesn't tell you. Some of the chapters feel like not enough is going on. There's no clear way to build your team. In some paths you don't get any character choices until you have renown.

But... It's just soooooo huge... And most maps are hella fun. The characters are soooooo cool. The classes feel perfect. The cut scenes are sick. The grand strategy elements are really nice.

Idk. I played everything past Thracia besides the 3DS Gaiden remake. This is definitely a contender for number 1 for me. Path of radiance might still win because I had a crush on Soren but it's a thin margin

im not really versed in *EVERY* FE games but i love that we have a different unit genre as the MC/ lords in some of the game.

in light of fortune's weave, we saw some very interesting lord types. like of course the typical crit monster sword master Dietrich would be the BEST unit for deleting enemies but its kinda boring compared to the hundreds sword users out there.

my notable 4 favourite *interesting* lord unit in FW;

- Cai: mounted mix str/mag attacker. he can cover more grounds, his AOE can reach faraway enemies, halts them in their tracks and, if you equip his flamekeeper skill, halves damages to allies. it really allows for an interesting gameplay.

- Orchel: tanky mage. she might not be able to hit your enemies but damn is she the tankiest healer i ever saw. her skill can allow her to passively heal herself so she really embodies that cutscene of her shrugging off the axe to the neck. not to mention the MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE mode in part 3 is just so cool.

- Leda: stat buffer. Honestly, i'm surprised that FE dont incorporate stat buffers class more often in the game. its an RPG game mechanic im most into because it allows for more strategic gameplay over just moving your units forward to defeat an enemy.

- Talimun: stat DEbuffer. similar to the above, i would love to have the ability to mess around the stats in battle instead of just minmaxing my units. he's really fun to use where you have to plan around both yours and your enemies stats and swap them around.

I hope future FE entries introduce more interesting lords. like of course theres in game classes but the lords/ avatars often have plot relevance to their skills that really builds their characters. also since the lords are the game over conditions, its more fun planning on how to keep your lord alive while working you armies around their quirks.

like maybe the new entry can have a charioteer lord thats actually disable, so they cant dodge in the chariots or be like a reverse orchel that can only reclass into mounted units.

(sorry im just so tired of seeing another sword user MC in EVERY game i play)

Frozen lance is a 7 might magic combat art and part 2 gives you so many iron weapons at +3 to spam combat arts

Iron spear+ 3 has 17 might so plus that with +7 might from combat art and it's a 24 might magical attack with 2 x damage against Cavs so it becomes 48 might and you can give her magic rod for 3 more damage

Just put her in Pegasus knight and she will one shot stuff trust

In the past weeks people have claimed units receive a new rng stat growth seed:

- Only once per save file

- Every time you start act 1 fresh

- After descending another time

- After clearing act 3

I know im going to be downvoted but i wanted to show some love to a game that has gown on so much on me for the last couple of days.

First of all, I played the game on casual normal, so I don't know if my opinion counts. I had started playing fire emblem engage right after finishing the fire emblem three houses, and found the art style and story very different from the last game that I had just finished and decided to drop the game after chapter 19 thinking that it was a letdown and a waste of my money.

No, some months after and after finishing and enjoying fire emblem Fortune weave on hard casual ( only lowered the difficulty to normal on the last map of part 3 cuz for the life of me after trying it four times on hard I just couldn't do it ) I had an urge to play fire emblem engage again.

And holy moly, I fell in love with it, like really started to appreciate the games design and choices with a clean lens. The amount of fun that I have had while playing engage is truly something I never imagined I would. In fact, I just bought the DLC and plan to do the hard mode now that I'm familiar with the game mechanics .

When I started to look at engages story as a light-hearted one, I even enjoyed its story with shirt it's fair share of cringe moments but it really made me laugh and I totally had a very good time and think that the story if not taken very seriously is a nice fluffy one that introduces us to the awesome maps that this game has to offer.

And talking about the maps, they were so much fun, even the emblem mechanics that I didn't understand at first or rarely used I started using them when I picked up the game again, a starter engaging with the ring mechanic more and more. And I had such a good time . The game play is truly very very fun.

Also , I have some really really favorite characters in this game: mauvier , zelkom , bunet, ivy , marni , alear, veyle, Fogado, timera, louis . Oh and did I say Mauvier ( love this man ) . I have already played some prologues of the DLC and damn, every map has me in awe and making me think where to position my units and not play mindlessly.

I never thought that I would love again as much as I do now, but this game is truly a gem that I think receives too much hate( but at least that is what I feel) but I think it did lots of things right especially in terms of gameplay.

I'm already thinking of replying the game on hard mode soon after I'm done with the DLC the fell xenologue.

Before I discuss anything, obviously if you already clicked on this post you’re treading part 1 spoiler territory. So here’s the last warning.

I updated the heroic games bracket to reflect what the results of the games would be should there be a completely neutral route, and you (the player) aren’t backing any of the eight flame lords. This can be deduced due to all four paths and their end results.

The four flame lords that always get knocked out in the quarter finals are: Leda, Talimun, Orchel and Anatolia. (Until the DLC comes out), Talimun, Orchel and Anatolia lose in the first round in all four of the part 1 paths. And Leda loses in the first round if you aren’t backing her. The only path Leda has to the semi finals and the finals is in her own path. Which means in a neutral route, Cai would be the winner.

In the semi finals, both Cai and Dietrich can presume to lose at this stage. Since both of them do not make the finals unless you are playing their routes, their default exit is during the semi finals.

Which leaves the neutral finals being Theodora vs Bertrand. Obviously, Theodora never actually fights in the finals in any of the routes, so theres Noway to tell who would win between the two armies in a neutral battle. But given how important both of them are in Part 2, them being the standard finalists for the Heroic Games make a lot of sense.

I have seen posts warning about losing mounts hearts or just the mounts in general in Part 3, I am a bit nervous considering how much time I actually spent so is there a way to guarantee that I won't lose any mounts?

Ever since I beat Fortune's Weave I've had the urge to replay all my other fire emblems and for some reason started with fates. Anyway even after all this time Peri still sticks out like a sore thumb, she just doesn't seem like someone Xander would want as his retainer and the whole having a crush on her from the S support feels flimsy at best as an explanation.

I feel like Peri could be easily fixed however if you just have her & Beruka swap royals and add on a few details to her backstory.

The new version of Peri's backstory is simple: her & Camilla were childhood friends/playmates like Corrin and Silas were. Peri was always super clingy towards Camilla and was never too far behind her. However this would actually be very draining on a young Camilla who was more introverted in her youngest of years, so much so that on one instance she faked being sick before Peri was to visit her. However that very same day was the day Peri's mother was murdered and Peri had walked in on the aftermath leading her urge to kill maids and whoever else who was unfortunate to be put up against her. After word of what happened spread Camilla felt super guilty, if she hadn't faked being sick then Peri wouldn't have had to seen her mother die, because she was "selfish" Peri would never be the same so from then on Camilla made sure nothing bad could ever happen to those close to her eventually becoming as clingy as Peri was. Years later Camilla would reunite with Peri and immediately take her on as her retainer against the advice and wishes of literally everyone. Camilla hoped that by being by her side on the battlefield that it would quell her blood-lust and she could be the same Peri she used to play with. However because of Camilla's caring and lax nature she lets Peri get away with things that others would call mad. Any time Peri got into any trouble Camilla felt obligated to defend her eventually developing that terrifying presence she uses within her supports. The characters would also adress how crazy Peri is and not brush off her murderous habits (save Camilla).

Peri's dynamic with Selena can touch on Selena's inferiority complex as Selena could feel that no matter how good of a retainer she is she'll never be as close to Camilla as Peri is since they go way back and Camilla gives her special treatment.

And if you're curious about Beruka... hey story's the same, she just attacks Xander instead. I feel like her story can work just fine with Xander and it could show Xander's kind and merciful side. It'd also make him seem like a wise opportunist rather than a down-bad moron.

So yeah, that's my take on Peri. Let me know what you think and comment if you'd do anything different.

• Day¹⁸: Flightless. Tana waves to Ephraim from up the sky.

• Day¹⁹: confused. Esmeralda and Fabio wanted to surprise Dietrich with a new style while he's asleep. Unfortunately, he woke up before they finish.

• Day²⁰: lounge. Ephraim realized that Orson had been acting off, and instead of shrugging it off, he confronted him moments before they set out to Grado.

Idk his deal but if he’s the strongest warrior of mosa I guess I’ll believe it
