Fortune's Weave General Debating redoing a path

• Upvotes

Currently on my third part 1 path nearly finished with it (Dietrich’s) my first path was Theodora, because I just loved her character design and frankly I loved her path and story. However, because I was still learning the new mechanics this game brought and didn’t exactly know fully what I was doing, most of the characters are a little under leveled, Lillian while getting good strength growths, I feel if I sent her to brigand university she’d be an even better archer for me, and Lysander..my golden ornius rider was a complete waste of energy and time. Nydine in Cais path for me was a beast and gave me love for the ornius rider classes. I’m debating if I should redo Theo’s route after finishing Ledas. Does anyone feel it would be worth it all?

Edit: forgot to mention their skill levels are shockingly low because I didn’t focus training much

Fortune's Weave General PSA for those still unsure of the best way to tackle Part 1 vs Part 2, in what order, with which lords, etc.

• Upvotes

I’ve seen dozens of different opinions on whether to head straight to Part 2 after finishing one path with one lord, or to do all 4 lords first, alternate as you go, etc.

Wanted to share my experience to clear this up for those still confused.

The real key, in my opinion, is to take so long making this decision, and bouncing around between the lords, that you burn out entirely on the game before even starting Part 2.

I’ve decided to put the game down indefinitely, with two Part 1 paths complete and a 3rd a little over halfway. Sure, I don’t know where the story goes, and never got to experience the payoff of battling with my forces at full power. Granted, by leaving the game in this moment, the entire prologue portion now feels like dead weight. But consider the benefits of my approach:

- No more worrying if I did things in the “correct” order
- I can stop feverishly reading Reddit posts like this one under the mistaken assumption they will finally give me clarity on what to do
- Spoiler prevention: by just giving up and no longer reading anything about the game, I eliminate any risk of ruining a surprise

Drop me an upvote if this also helped you finally make a call on how to approach Part 1 —> Part 2.

General Spoiler Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Final Map Theme is AMAZING Spoiler

Thumbnail youtube.com
• Upvotes

When I first heard this, I reminisced on the entire 160 hour+ journey with such an incredible cast, and no video on YouTube yet has captured that feeling, till this one

Fortunes Weave might have the best OST of all the Fire Emblem, and this particular one was amazing - never has a final map music made me this surprised and hyped - When I first heard Cai's theme and all the other lords following that in one epic final medley!

Fortune's Weave Gameplay I thought I didn't like this game... until I focused on one route.

• Upvotes

So, I tried to do what many planned to do before the game came out. Use the obelisk chamber to freely switch between stories, soaking in everyone's story a little at a time, freshening up gameplay, possibly unlocking rewards such as locked classes along each simultaneously.

I played each story up to one actual battle in Dagsion, took about ~20 hours. So 😭 boring 😭 I think all the exposition of all four routes really tainted my initial view of the game, I swore they just completely abandoned any thought towards the gameplay or combat. I thought this game was just, exclusively talking. And since so many reviewers mentioned the route-switching approach to playing the game, I thought this was how you were kind of SUPPOSED to play.

Anyways, I gave up on that, and finally just focused on one route at a time, specifically Cai's route. Now I'm having fun! I feel like I can actually recall the characters and storyline (I am busy and in school so I am constantly coming back to this game every few days), it is way easier to manage the time management and world exploration aspect when playing one route at a time, and I'm finally getting to challenging gameplay. Also, route-specific mechanics, like Cai's mount capture, don't have to be "remembered". I experience it now, and then I move on. I really thought I was going to dislike this game, but I just realized playing between 4 routes, especially at the start, is way too much to go through and kind of intimidating.

^^ I am more of a "gameplay is extremely important, but good story and writing is a bonus" fan than a "idc, as long as the story is peak" fan sooooo... Three Houses and Fortune's Weave always feel like it takes more urging myself to get into.

Anyways, idk what the point of this post is, but I think route swapping was not a good idea and I don't imagine trying that approach if I play the game again 😭

Fortune's Weave General Potential first recruits for DLC lords in Fortune's Weave

• Upvotes

There is a lot of theories about potential gimmicks of dlc lords, but I am really curious who do you think will be first recruits outside of main team of each of the lords?

Supposedly they should round out team composition of each of the lords, so maybe looking a Talimun team(dark magic user, archer, white magic user, mid speed axe user, speedy sword user) it will be Noctula(bonus points for not having supports with any of his team members). I also suspect Peppe as possibility for Bertrand(his paralogue suggests him being interested in Bertrand and also being potential bow user for his bowless team)

Nydine is also potential first recruit for someone as she doesn't have any asociation and qualifiers participation. Io is similiar but his prf horse and 20lvl start makes him a lot stronger than rest. There is also Kiroc, maybe Majide? Or do you think they will repeat some characters from main game lords?

Hope it’s useful alongside this guide! Feedback and corrections are welcome.

Gameplay Replaying Chapters and New DLC

Hello all! I’m 92 hours into the game and on my fourth path (Dietrich)…and I’ve got a question about the weapons in the first wave of DLC…I’m fairly certain they’re part 1 only (correct me if I’m wrong), but if they are and I want to go back to get them, if I went back and replayed a chapter to get the DLC weapon, would I need to finish through to part 1, or could I just replay a particular chapter and be done with it? The weapons look cool and I want them, but I’m not sure if I have it in me to complete the other three routes again.

General - Path of Raidance Is it just me, or is Oscar really that bad in Path of Radiance?

I ask this because I was watching KingOfSkill's playthrough of Path of Radiance lately, and his run was largely defined by Oscar barely leveling up his stats, and there were also points that he didn't have any stat buffs period, twice. The same thing later happened to Boyd since KingOfSkill claimed he was right next to Oscar when that happened.

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Mount Catching part 3

Hello! I was just hoping for some advice from people who have reached part 3. I caught a few mounts with cai, but none of the stuff like red meganius. I keep seeing people talk about replaying cai part 1 to fix their mounts. I just want to know, is there not enough time in part 3 to rectify this? Im not even done with all part 1s yet, and im feeling so ready to just move on to part 2. The idea of replaying a whole part 1 at this point just sounds so mind numbing to me, as someone who really isn't enjoying all the extra stuff besides the regular fe gameplay.

General What’s the FE game with the most combat and least amount of social sim/non combat content

I initially bought Fortune’s Weave thinking it was purely a tactical RPG, only to start and be met with what I consider a very slow opening not too dissimilar to Persona. I eventually got into the groove and managed to find enjoyment in the gameplay loop and all the sim/support elements. Then I reached Part 2, which is just one battle after another and I absolutely loved that. It was by far my favorite section of the game, but it’s quite short with just ~6 maps or so. I hear Part 3 is more a mix of both 1 and 2 and the freeroaming stuff is back.

As I understand, Awakening is when the series took a turn and began adding more social elements? So, what game should I go back to if all I want is a tactical RPG with tons of maps, character building, classes, etc, with a minimum amount of side elements like side quests/activities?

Thank you.

Hi! I just started the game a few days ago and am playing the first few chapters of my first Route. Is Wave 1 of the DLC worth getting now? Or should I just wait for wave 3, which is obv why id buy the DLC. I just spent so much money on the base game and id just like to know whether im getting my moneys worth now or its safe to wait until all the waves are out. Thanks!

Fortune's Weave General Is Sirocco the (for lack of better term) narrator?

Just as the title says: is Sirocco the guy narrating all the excerpts of history type cutscenes and the chapter titles? I'm currently on Leda's path right now, so Sirocco is always one of the last voices I hear before another chapter starts up, and when the narrator goes to read the title out, they really do sound similar! I can't find anything about the narrative voice online (although that might be my own human fault), it's been haunting me! TT

Thanks so much in advance!

General Fortune’s Weave Archive of Our Own Data

Disclaimer: I’m not gonna use an account for this because it’s easier to see the public data for yourself this way and signing up for an account takes ages

HAPPY ONE MONTH SINCE LAUNCH (kinda)

Since I did this last time when Engage rolled around I just want to share some stats here

Fortune’s Weave has 472 fics as of today. Top 5 ships are as follows:

1) Dietrich/Fabio: 105
2) Leda/Olympia: 45
3) Dietrich/Esmeralda: 19
4) Cai/Tialla: 14
5) Natha/Creek: 10

For a quick comparison, Three Houses had around 1,103 fics by August 26, 2019, one month after the July release. Sadly some authors will delete old fics over time so we don’t know the exact number unless someone has a screenshot of that timeframe. Top 5 were

1) Dimitri/Byleth: 147
2) Claude/Byleth: 114
3) Edelgard/Byleth: 95
4) Sylvain/Felix: 90
5) Hubert/Ferdinand: 32

One month after Engage released it had 371 fics. Top 5 was:

1) Alfred/Alear: 47
2) Ivy/Alear: 31
3) Diamant/Griss: 16 (the whole tag is made up of two authors)
4) Alcryst/Alear: 14
5) Diamant/Alear: 13

Unlike FW and 3H, Engage had fics that were way more spread out and less focused on ships. As a result a handful of authors can more or less have a monopoly on a ship’s tag and really pump up the numbers.

Right now the most written ship for Engage is Alear/Veyle (total of 164 fics, 79 are written by one author) for pretty much that reason

General Spoiler [FE8] An interesting change to Valter's weapon between the Japanese and international versions Spoiler

I recently learned that Valter uses a Silver Lance in the Japanese version of Chapter 15, but a Killer Lance in the international release.

It made me wonder whether there's some unintended symbolism here. The Silver Lance represents Valter's former prestige as an Imperial General, while the Killer Lance reflects his brutality and bloodlust — sacrificing reliable damage for the chance of a devastating critical hit.

It was probably just a gameplay balancing decision, but I find the contrast interesting, not sure if this has been brough up before.

In my custom worldbuilding, Silver Lances or silver weapons in general are reserved for high-ranking knights as symbols of prestige and status. That’s why they aren’t sold in ordinary armories and are rarely seen in the hands of enemy soldiers.

Fortune's Weave General Theory: Anatolia will allow Black Magic upgrades on her route

I made this possible connection after a post mentioning that Black Magic doesn't scale into part 3 and falls behind upgraded Salamanders and Levin Swords.

I noticed that when playing Anatolia as a guest unit, her spell Wondering Wall (Which is Black Magic) has a range of 3, while Sha Lan's version of the same spell only has a range of 1.

There is nothing in the flavour text or in Anatolia's skills to suggest why she has the increased range. She just flat out has a better version of the same spell.

It got me to thinking, that maybe Anatolia gets magic upgrades as a mirror to how Dietrich gets Combat Art upgrades. Possibly even using the same resource.

Maybe even having it so Anatolia can teach certain spells to other units, like Dietrich's secret arts.

I don't think White Magic would be upgradable though. Perhaps teachable though.

Fortune's Weave Spoiler Besides the obvious, which FW characters could plausibly still be alive by the time of Three Houses? Spoiler

Tons of untagged spoilers follow, proceed at your own risk.

Obviously Seteth makes it, and any of the other Nabateans (or mechanical Nabateans, hypothetically) who live through the game presumably could as well.... but who else? I haven't seen anything that explicitly confirms or denies Ninae as Nabatean yet but it sure seems like it, so maybe her too.

Fabio seems likely, Agarthans seem to be ageless. By a similar token, Anatolia/Troy/Nezha/Eshmel should be functionally immortal, right?

Whatever's up with Ursula seems to suggest she could still be kicking around by then, too.

Then there's the part Nabateans, who I don't feel like we have a great sense of. I think at one point Aurora says Cai has about 500 years, but I might be remembering that wrong? So he's probably off the board by 3H and presumably so is Leda, who's several generations further removed from Kalla. But Talimund is one generation closer to the Founders* than Cai is, so he could theoretically still be kicking around.

\Unless we assume certain implied but unconfirmed possibilities about Aurora's parentage as facts.*

And obviously Guzran is unkillable, so presumably he's fine.

Anybody else feel like a likely threat to make an appearance/cameo in a future posts-3H Fodlan game, were such a thing to exist?

Fortune's Weave Spoiler Another potential early boss for Bertrand's route ?

So there's this guy named Suarez that Catania randomly namedrop twice. Here in Dagsion, mentioning he's recently deceased in a pretty high-key way, and in her support with Lysander, saying he was a survivor of Cydonia that REALLY hated Bertrand

So with those two informations together, it'd make sense that Suarez tried to murk Bertrand publicly and got cut down as the result, and it have to happen during the span of the game, given Catania speak of him as someone that died just earlier
