Leda's Route Story Every Sirocco support convo
Leda/Mu/Olympia: hey Sirocco, you smell like pussy. Did you just get back from fucking one of your many bitches? How do you play the lute with those hands, since they’re all pruned from all the women you finger. Fucking man whore.

Fortune's Weave Spoiler Majide's C-Rank with Orchel means that Baozi was a screw up from the start. Spoiler
The entire point of Baozi letting Majide have Ink-Black Wen was for it to influence and control him. Turns out, however, he's just as incorruptible as Dietrich is, being completely unaffected in both mind and soul by the usual properties of Flamma.
So even if Dietrich hadn't come along and high-jacked the cloak, Baozi still managed to pick the one man in all of Dagda who would be entirely immune to his machinations.

Fortune's Weave Spoiler There WILL be free time for all the DLC routes, and the locations of the perches prove it Spoiler
When free time begins, each protagonist starts right near a perch. For example, Theodora has her own in her area and Leda uses the one near the temples. That raises a question: why are there perches at the pier and in the underground cell? That's because those are for Talimun and Bertrand! Anatolia should use the one near the inn and Orchel should use the same one as Leda, so there's no specific perches for them.

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Ultand is one of the best merge projects in Fortune's Weave
Other than the lords, most characters in this game do not have fantastic merge prospects, as their growths and/or availability put a large damper on what you can hope to accomplish.
Everyone seems to know Sirocco is one such merge project - fantastic growths, and enough paths to take him down to make something truly busted. When the DLC ships, I suspect Ninae will be another such super project. But a lot of people seem to rate Ultand as a really bad character, even though after playing Cai's route 3 times, she was probably my 2nd best character each time.
Ultand has the 4th best growth rates in the entire game. While the game speaks of her as a healer, resulting in most players using her as a Bishop, this is probably her 5th best class option in Part 1, and isn't anywhere near her final destination.
Ultand's Growths
- HP: 45%
- Strength: 40%
- Magic: 40%
- Speed: 35%
- Dexterity: 40%
- Defense: 35%
- Resistance: 45%
- Luck: 55%
- Charm/Charisma: 50%
As you can see, she has no real weakness, and many of these can be turned into major strengths given the right class lines. The biggest selling point of Ultand is not her spell list, but her mixed bulk, which is one of the highest in the game, totaling a combined 80%.
When I played her the first time, I did what most people did, and went down Diviner -> Priest -> Bishop. This will naturally build her magic and resistance stats fairly high, but she should have great stats everywhere.
One thing I noticed at the end of that Bishop run was that she had crazy Defense - very atypical of a healer. I always wondered why Cai's route did not get a natural tank, unlike the other routes, but clearly the developers wanted you to use Ultand for this purpose.
So on my second playthrough, I went Soldier -> Armored Knight -> Guardian, taking advantage of her boons in lances and white magic, along with her mixed bulk. On this run, she was amazing, and the combined merge made her a very useful Sentinel in Part 3 - capable of baiting both physical and magical attackers in the same turn, and having enough bulk to survive multiple attacks, similar to Theodora or Eshmel.
But the one weakness she had, despite already having amazing stats, was lower hit rates and not doubling enough. Luckily, there's a way to fix that too. We can play Cai's route a 3rd time, and have her go down Ornius Rider -> Armored Ornius Rider -> Caladrius. Using the Tending feature on Cai's route, we can bond a Speed/Dex mount, and I think this was her most broken class on this route. Even in her first chapter of availability, you can get her into C-rank swords through training, get the Levin Sword from Centurio's Mentoring, and get her into Ornius Rider with just 1 Riding Manual. Ultand and Cai just steamrolled the entire run on Hard/Classic.
Here is the final merge of all 3 runs:

From here, I suspect her best classes in part 3 will be Orichaldia or Celestial Trooper.

Fortune's Weave General We're getting new FMVs. That suggests the 4 sublord routes were cut pretty late.
The fact that the DLC includes FMV cutscenes that weren't in the base game is significant, in my opinion. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe any Fire Emblem DLC up to this point has included FMVs. The closest thing we got was Revelation, which was developed alongside Birthright and Conquest and released less than a month after them.
The reason for this is simple: Full-motion video cutscenes aren't produced by Intelligent Systems. Most games (including Fire Emblem) outsource their FMVs to dedicated animation studios. This means that FMVs are essentially a series of animated shorts that the developer has to commission from an external development partner. Animation takes a long time, and there's usually a good amount of back-and-forth communication between the developer and the animation studio, as the animators deliver preliminary versions of the scenes and the developers give feedback. For a big game like this, it can be years before FMVs are finalized.
All this to say: for us to be seeing these FMVs now, less than a month after the game came out, they had to have been in production at the same time as the main game's FMVs. Animation also isn't cheap, so the total amount of FMVs in the game was probably decided during the planning stages, when the development budget was being decided on. What I'm saying is: these DLC FMVs were almost certainly commissioned alongside all of the ones in the base game. So, whenever they made the deal to produce the game's FMVs, the sublords were likely still planned to have their own routes.

Casual Fates Anna is such an interesting Character, I really wish she wasn't just DLC that could only support Corrin
Fates Anna is one of my favourite characters in the game because the concept of an Anna actually having insecurities about being the exact same as other Anna's is a take of the character we haven't seen before. Her support with Corrin F is one of my favourites in the game and I feel like it would've been even more effective if there were Anna's all over the place in the base game since as amazing as the support is we never actually see any other Anna's in fateslandia so for all we know there's just our Anna and the Anna that haggles with Corrin F. It would've been amazing to see this Anna interact with the other characters like Saizo or Niles, Saizo especially as we have one character who takes pride in sharing a identical name in his family and another who's having insecurities because of the very same thing. I'm also aware that Anna acts pretty differently to Corrin M but I think it would've been pretty cool to have 2 different playable Anna's, one for Birthright and one for Conquest where the 2 sisters are opposites and one tries to stand out and be unique while the other pretends to be different Anna's to make a quick buck then in Revelations they could have a support together seeing as we haven't really seen other Anna's interact all that much within the series.
I just feel like there was so much potential with Fates Anna and really wish she had supports with other characters.

Fortune's Weave General 245 hours later…
I finally finished the game!
Maybe it’s just the way I play, but it somehow took me 245 hours to beat it.
To be honest, Part 3 felt pretty tedious (especially the world map), and there were quite a few frustrating design choices.
One thing that really stood out was having to sit through dozens of level-up pop-ups after every single battle in the final dungeon lol
That said, I genuinely enjoyed the game overall. It kept me hooked for a surprisingly long time, and I’m glad I played it.
I really hope the DLC brings some much-needed quality-of-life improvements.
What do you guys think of the game? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Fortune's Weave Spoiler [Part 3] People keep misunderstanding past humanity's actions Spoiler
This has been frustrating me so much, but so many people who have gone through part 3 obviously did NOT read and/or understand the data logs at the Megaliths and keep saying that humans blindly attacked Sothis on Vritra's orders.
Humans did not attack Sothis and cause her to wake up, either with weaponry or their spaceships. Vritra attacked her immediately after a sample of recently discovered sleeping Sothis was fully analyzed and determined to be extremely similar to an entity from Sirius A that attacked a Serpent-class ship.
From Great Undoing I:
In the midst of the chaos [about the samples matching], before I or any of the Grand Megaliths could form a working hypothesis, Vritra gave the order to deploy Artemis' Arrow against the thing.
It's clear that "gave the order" was not Vritra ordering humans to attack using Artemis, but using Artemis itself, as:
- It happened before the Grand Megaliths could form a hypothesis, and they're massive supercomputers that could form one in a matter of seconds.
- A human scientist on the analysis project considered the order a massive error based not on the devastation it caused, but because it didn't follow from the analysis results. Yet they don't say anything about questioning Vritra's orders or expressing secret doubt, meaning there was no chance to actually do those things. "As the samples were analyzed, it became clear that they came from a life-form composed mostly of silicon. Based on those results, Vritra's decision to attack the thing with a superheavy metal round from Artemis was a catastrophic error." - Great Undoing II
- In Dietrich's path, Zenon on the bridge of the Nuwa expresses confusion at Sothis suddenly appearing and causing horrible destruction. If Vritra had given the order to fire Artemis indirectly rather than firing it themself, Chang'e would have conveyed that order to Zenon because, you know, there's a weapon of mass destruction getting fired and that might delay the ship leaving.
I'm not freeing humans of culpability for making an idiotic AI, or building weapons of mass destruction, but they didn't just fire things at Sothis because Vritra said so. Vritra attacked it without even consulting humanity or the Megaliths beneath it, and then humans attacked Sothis and the dragons that emerged to cause the Great Undoing because they were trying to stop what was happening.

General Which was your favorite main character sword in modern Fire Emblem and why?
With Fortune’s Weave breaking the streak by Eshmel’s preferred weapon being a Lance, these are the four MC swords from the 3DS era - Switch era of Fire Emblem. Which of the four was your favorite and why?
One thing I noticed is that Engage is the only oddball of the bunch that didn’t have their weapon receive a late game upgrade. Technically you can say Wille Glanz is the indirect upgrade to Liberation. but regardless, other than forging Liberation to +5, theres no direct upgrade to the weapon like the other 3 have.
