Delhi Politics As a Delhite and a woman i just want to say STOPPP asking me why i’m not supporting CJP/Congress or these vote chori protests.

I said what I said because, trust me, I don’t care at this point. The protests started because we women didn't feel safe in this city. Delhi dilwalo ki nahi Delhi Darindo ki hai yeh ab bas.

And FU to all the women especially because what the Fuck is “stop talking about women's protests because Vote chori or SIR scam is much bigger than it.”
Why every fucking time something else is much more important than almost 50% populations’ safety? What was the use of attending 7 protests when, in the end, our slogans became meme material and our protests were taken over by some other party’s propaganda?

Every fucking time something else is more important than women’s safety, be it a pollution protest, farmers' protest, Exam leak protest or protest against the Election Commission.

Where do we women stand in your list? And I have one better question where do we women as citizens stand in this country? Because I believe even dogs and cows have better rights and positions than we women in this Fucking country.

So FU everyone and F this country. Bhai pitto marro katto I don’t give a F now. I was never a BJP supporter but I don’t have any support for any political party now.

Even if in 2029 any other party comes into power, we women would still ne Graped, murdered, burned and harassed and trust me no one would give a F about us because it is and will always be so normal for this country.

And trust me, how we let these men take over our protests again; we totally deserve this treatment only.

UPDATE - I’m not asking anyone to change my viewpoint. I have been politically aware for more than 7 years now and it has given me nothing, I have seen terrible statements from party members of almost all the Big political parties and no one gives a F about women; all they have is GYAAN to give us women about protecting ourselves by changing our clothes or not going out late at night. So don’t give me more GYAAN that once the BJP is out, women will have better rights and safety because they won’t.
And if you think so then good for you and we all will be here after the BJP is out and we can talk when some new case like Nirbhaya or the RG Kar College Rape case will happen. PEACE OUT ✌️

AskDelhi What do you guys think is gonna happen to Abhijeet now?

He's been detained again, is he gonna be put into judicial custody for a week as well or booked under UAPA or something? I'm kinda concerned cuz the Delhi (typo) *Dalli Police also gave him a notice a few hours ago to kinda make this impression of that like "we warned him but he didn't listen" so that they can get him under some trouble.

Culture & Heritage CR Park experience - dissapointing

This is my first time seeing CR park, Delhi
I think this will also be my last experience here

I dont want to sound elitist or racist but I was flabbergasted and disgusted at the hygiene. I visited the famous shops here for trying food. There is filth and flies everywhere. No cleanliness and very smelly place. I felt really uncomfortable. Regret coming here

I genuinely dont understand the hype!?

Delhi Politics We need to show up tomorrow, it might be our last chance.

When you take a moment and look at what's truly going on its chilling, genuinely chilling, the fact that 63 Rajya Sabha members 130 lok sabah members have signed a notice for CEC resignation which was denied, the fact that the other 2 ECs have also raised complaints against him, the fact that this matter has been brought up for 2 years now.

Who works in our favour anymore? which institution is left? the fucking chief justice of india says, law isn't in his hands, delhi police is unaccountable and on the Nuremberg roll running a fucking pr campaign on instagram like some twtr microcelebrity after a scandal, the parents of a girl who was raped and murdered are sobbing as they're dragged away, and people are getting unlawfully detained with no consequences. The value of the rupee has fallen, the biggest donars of the bjp (ambanis) being adviced on indias foreign policies by Jeffrey fucking epstien, crimes against women have increased, pollution in delhi is worse, per capita income is a shitshow, hate speeches rised by 78%, (https://csohate.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/report-India-Hate-Lab-Report-Final-13.pdf?) (https://indiahatelab.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Hate-Speech-Events-in-India_Report_2024.pdf) communal violence increasing, freedom of press has dropped to 156 out of 180 countries, we haven't kept up with the ai or tech boom, our city infrastructure is shit, grads aren't getting jobs and people on subreddits are discussing if fucking non hindus should be allowed at garba.

I mean nothing is real anymore, and people aren't showing enthusiasm to evern TRY, to show up or protest, go look at the delhi subreddit.

I feel like im age regressing every time I talk to a RWr like man did you ever pass primary school?

I really thought at some point some day people will wake up and say "wow the gun is pointing at me", but I know of people whose parents passed due to government negligence during covid and they still haven't woken up.

You can't even say the rich are benefitting, they are not, they are loosing money and trying to send their children abroad because you can live in a fortress, but still smell the stench of piss across the road, they can talk about nationalism all they want, but they know despite having money they still don't have the quality of life people in other nations do, nobody here does, this government doesn't even benefit the 1%, it benefits the tiniest fraction of it.

Please please please show up tomorrow, the government has learnt, it will suppress any and all dissent if this dies down, we are already witnessing the worst of the worst these days, it's not funny anymore, you can not afford to clock out, you can not afford to let this moment go, it is not as casual as we're making it out to be, how many times will we be given the opportunity to show up togeather again, please show up tomorrow.

Ik tum Mai se aadhe se zyada log UPSE nahi de rahe, getting detained doesn't mean fuckall to you, so we need to show up.

It is now or never.

Before resigning yourself to "oh but what would a protest even do?" Remember that this nation was literally born out of one.

AskDelhi Why are you guys so Anti Dictators ?

Imagine if India was a Dictatorship
You could let 1% of people have most of the nation's wealth
You could help your rich friends get rich by cutting their taxes & bailing them out when they gamble and lose
You could ignore the needs of the poor for health care & education
Your media would appear free but secretly be controlled by one person and his family
You could wiretap phones, you could release foreign prisoners, you could have rigged elections
You could conceal military casualties, you could fill your prisons with anyone who dares to dissent & no one would complain
You could use the media to scare the people into supporting policies that are against their interests
I know this is hard for us to imagine as we are the "mother of democracy" but please try !!

Serious Replies Only Can someone explain me why didn't Rahul Gandhi or INDIA bloc start a sit in protest at Jantar Mantar with its rally of 2.5 lakh people on 12 October after visiting Supreme Court?

Now I see Indian Youth Congress trying to reclaim Jantar Mantar in small numbers so it's not clear to me what they want to achieve with this.

AskDelhi A state of disdain and despair ?

Maybe this is out of context and line- for the country seems to be in a very fragile state, while the current government does nothing but dictates the course of every action carried out by the citizens of this nation while the carry out this debauchery…
Alas, amidst all this my ailments lie elsewhere entirely, the inability of this place to welcome Durga with lacklustre and I find myself thinking within the walls of these temples and pandals that this is the rape capital
And how many rapists would be lurking in these very halls seeking divine feminine blessing when in reality the have defiled and tormented feminity most of their mortal lives.
I worry for a nation that I was born in where you can have power if you are a man, where you can appointed as governor of a state irrespective of been charged and tried on with rape cases and simply drop those said tape cases if you happen to have the right connection.
I also am fully aware there is to be some Reddit user who is going to point out the political element to all of this rather than comprehending a simple fact that any association the government has with our rights and basic accessibility-it is by simple definition political to its core.
My friends waver from conversations cause they said why does it matter if the government is shit , it is shit everywhere ..I find myself thinking adjusting to the current regime of things.. having rights today guarantees that we would have rights tomorrow?

TellDelhi It has begun, the pollution that colours our winters every year is back. Brace Yourselves!

Anger, frustration, irritation, sleep issues, breathing issues, cognitive difficulites, everything is about to become 100x worse thanks to the winter season and another winter without any stringent action from the government. AQI has already started rising in October, brace yourselves, it's going to be a tough ride.

In these days, if you feel particularly angry on someone, or irritated by someone or particularly depressed, please know that the feeling is being amplified significantly by pollution if not being outright caused by it.

I belong to the category of people who do not overly support nor very strongly protest against the government in general. Even if I do speak against the government I am generally in favour of Modiji. Air pollution however is that one issue on which I am very frustrated with everyone in power including the Prime Minister, like why are they not taking strict action on this issue? Do they not care that children developing in this pollution won't have normal lung development?

I pray from the depth of my heart that those in power take pollution seriously. in the short term it damages our mood, cognition, memory, and lungs, but over years it damages every single organ: Kidney, liver, gut, brain, everything.

Edit: Studies used as references in comments.

Edit 2: Also asked Grok what would it do if it were the Prime Minister and the reply is in comments.

Delhi Politics Jhanda marches all over Delhi to show support ?

Their strategy is to keep us dispersed and disorganised but can they arrest the entire youth for fluring tiranga in the streets and the road. It'll backfire. Let's show them the unity.

The want to keep us disorganised and this will be their weakness. Their police cannot run this and arresting/detaining would portray them quite badly

Dipke, das and ranka went to arrested to start this. Don't let this pass and organise.

Let's flutter the flag. Let's organise and lead these jhanda marches to show support and demonstrate dissent which is part of our democracy.

Cockroaches organise.

TellDelhi It feels impossible finding love as a gay man!

• Upvotes

Being a gay man is hard. Feels like everyone just wants sex and nobody wants an actual relationship lol. I just want someone to go on dates with, yap about random shit, and spend time with.

Being single is one thing, but having no friends either makes it so much worse. 😭

AskDelhi Is this only me or others aswell

• Upvotes

I travel frequently on the Delhi Metro, mostly on the Yellow Line, and honestly, kabhi kabhi anxiety hoti hai when a girl sits next to me. I automatically try to squeeze myself into my seat and avoid even the slightest touch because I don’t want any unnecessary argument or misunderstanding.

I saw this happen with a person on the Blue Line around 7 months ago. A girl was sitting next to him, their legs accidentally touched, and she started yelling at him. Since then, I think about this whenever a girl sits beside me in the metro.

I’m not against women, and I completely understand that women have their own concerns about safety and personal space. Accidental touch can happen in a crowded metro, and obviously, nobody should deliberately invade anyone’s space.

But I also feel that sometimes, as a person , you become extra conscious of every little movement because you’re scared of being misunderstood.

Do other guys feel this way too, or am I overthinking it?

AskDelhi Where are the people of Dilli ?

The detention of a mother seeking justice for her daughter, Ankitha Bhandary, raises serious questions about the public’s response to such incidents. Equally concerning is the comment saying "selective outrage" directed at those who stand in solidarity with her.

During the Nirbhaya protests, the country demonstrated a collective willingness to mobilise against injustice. It is therefore pertinent to ask:
what accounts for the apparent absence of that same selective solidarity today?

Has the principle of standing up for justice become conditional, or has the fear of speaking out begun to outweigh our collective conscience?

dilli walon ke liye sharam ke baat hai ye!
