Im checking fb today and found a listing with these games and one console with 4 controllers. I’m not particularly interested in the console nor the controllers but might get one extra. The listing as a whole is 670 dollars but I might get these games for 200. Just looking for some tips or a better price, thanks!

Hello all ! My boyfriend just bought a ps3 and has been seriously addicted to buying all the nostalgic games he wanted to play as a kid. Since Christmas is around the corner, I wanted to get him something really really special, but I just barely started gaming and I don’t really trust my own judgment ! The Super Slim gets heavy slack for the design and sliding door but I never had any issues with it and I got mine back in 2013. I love this system and been playing it a lot more than my PS5 lately. Got a lot of platinums on the way. :)

Der Zustand von Uncharted ist einfach unglaublich. Das Game sieht aus wie unbenutzt und so eine gut erhaltene Hülle habe ich in meinem ganzen Leben noch nie gesehen.

This system has been through a lot while in my possession (2501A). Has fell from dressers atleast 2 times. Knock on wood she’s still kicking. Does the usual I don’t wanna read disc until you rub me the right way but eventually she does. Beast of a system. Super quite all original parts. Even opened her up and it had like 3 dust bunnies, fan has very light dust. Other than that super clean unit. Damm been missing out on using her for about 8 years. Here’s to another 20. Check out my stand for ventilation.

Hey everyone, wanted to share a hobby project I’ve been working on.

It’s called Disc Collection. You take 2 photos of a game case and it builds a 3D version you can spin around, open up, and pull the disc out of. It’s also a simple collection tracker (ratings, hours played, wishlist, etc), but the 3D case is the fun part.

It only works if you own the physical copy, so it’s kind of my way of celebrating physical media.

There’s also a public gallery (my favorite part) where you can browse other people’s cases, and if you heart one it goes on your wishlist as a checklist, so you can use other collectors’ shelves to figure out what to hunt for next. It’s anonymous, no usernames or followers.

It’s free and I want to keep it that way, it’s just something I do for fun. No accounts, no ads.

Still pretty early, so if you have ideas or something feels off, there’s a contact option in settings. What’s the first PS3 game you’d put on your shelf?

A bit small but I only get stuff that I'm really gonna play

I've been getting more interested in older PlayStation consoles lately, and the PS3 era seems really interesting.

I like the idea of going back to older games instead of always chasing the newest hardware. For those still using a PS3, what games do you keep coming back to, and what do you think the PS3 did better than later consoles?

Recently picked up Star Wars the force unleashed 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Still on the lookout for skate 2, resistance 3, Dante’s inferno, motorstorm apocalypse, and Arkham origins.

Ever since Sony got very disingenuous and nasty with there more recent shenanigans I decided to put the PS5 down and went back to PS3 and I couldn't be happier tbh the games are more varied and enjoyable not only that I feel more at home with the PS3 then the 5. (I have both versions of MGSV lol)

Got this PS3 CECHC04 completely dead, no red standby light, no beep, nothing.

After comparing it with another COK-002 board and doing a lot of multimeter checks, I found that +5V_EVER was reaching the board but there was an open connection before the standby regulator section. Restored that factory connection with a small jumper and the red standby light came straight back. It now boots normally.

It’s a 7A CECHC04, still has the original 90nm RSX, and the thermal paste looked very much original/factory. The inside was full of really old-looking dust and otherwise felt surprisingly untouched. I cleaned it, repasted it, and also had to sort out a damaged Blu-ray ribbon connector latch. Optical drive is working again too.

Then I checked System Information and got the surprise: OFW 2.60. 😅

No idea about the actual runtime yet, so I’m not claiming it’s a low-hour console, but between the early firmware, original hardware and general condition, it feels like a little time capsule.

I’ll probably update it and jailbreak it eventually, but before I erase that untouched 2.60 state forever: is there anything interesting you guys would want me to check or document first? Any questions about the console or the repair?

As my DS3's battery is shot, I need to open it up and replace it.

Anyhow, this got me wondering if there are any aftermarket suppliers of more comfortable DS3 shells instead of the standard one. I'm looking for something like the Dualsense that sits nicely in your hands.

I'm not really looking for an aftermarket controller, just a shell. If you do know any good aftermarket controller brands though, please also let me know.

Is Halloween month and have been watching some old school horror movies like nightmare on elm Street and Friday the 13th so now I'm thinking about playing some horror games but I don't have any

with the death of the PS3 store near, i thought i'd highlight some of the Japan PS-store exclusives which can still be purchased. there are guides out there on how to set up your account (and add funds), but for brevity's sake, here are my picks for essential Japan-exclusives:

Intelligent Qube Final / Kurushi Final: stellar puzzle action game which some of you might remember. (note: I.Q. has also recently made its way to PS4/5, but my understanding is that release is the slightly inferior, and more difficult, Western release)

Einhänder: probably the biggest find on Japanese PSN; it's arguably the best shmup ever made, and basically impossible to buy elsewhere in 2026.

LSD: Dream Emulator: the legendary psychedelic art game. must-play, impossible to describe.

Rival Schools: the best 2.5D fighting game you've never played, this hidden gem is unavailable anywhere else aside from expensive eBay listings. criminal that it still hasn't gotten a modern port, even after its sequel was included in the Capcom Fighting Collection 2

Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden Memories: fun little scuba simulator. that said, if you own a VR headset, then just get Subside and skip this.

Initial D Extreme Stage: yes, they made a Japan-exclusive Initial D game. yes, it's pretty stylish.

Silent Hill 4: The Room: fun fact, the only way to play SH4 on a console short of buying the original disc, is to track down the Japan-only PS3 store re-release, which has full English voiceover and subtitles.

Haunting Ground: speaking of horror, another classic PS2 game that's effectively impossible to find; it got a Japan-only PS3 re-release in 2015.

*edit: thank you for the suggestions!! someone also pointed out that PS3 discs are region free, and some of these games are also available on disc. for example, here’s Initial D on the Mandarake shop.

I just replaced the thermal grease and tried it without the hard drive, but it just does this. No video, stays on for 40-50 seconds, and then shuts off with a click (the hard drive turning off) Replaced PSU once but it didn't fix it. Disc doesn't spin either.

Thought I’d post here since the issue might be PS3 related
