This is the post for asking any questions about PlayStation Plus. Simply leave a comment with your question and some awesome Redditor will very likely reply to you!
Be patient: You might not get an answer immediately.
What time do new PlayStation Plus games usually become available?
PlayStation Plus games typically become available for download at 9:00 AM GMT in EU and 3 PM GMT in Americas on the first (Essential)/third(Extra/Premium) Tuesday of each month.
When is the best time to subscribe? Will be there any discount soon?
You can check the history of past PSN deals in this post (credits to u/Unusual_Trade5917) to compare and decide.
PS+ game is missing, has a lock, stream with premium label or price on it, what to do?
Restore licenses in console settings.
Try to download it from the phone app and the web store
Check your regional PlayStation blog, the game may not be available in your region.
Check PS+ Master List, it is possible that the game was removed from the service
Contact support.
Can I keep PS+ Extra/Premium game if it gets removed, my subscription ends or I move to a lower tier?
No
I want to buy a game I previously had through PS+. Can I continue from where I left off?
Yes, your save data will work as long as the version you buy is from the same region as the one you had with PS+.
I cannot buy XYZ game, it says I "already own it". What to do?
Check Console Store, PSN Web Store, Phone App. Sometimes you can choose between different versions of a game in Web Store but can't on console, or vice versa.
Nothing works? Contact support, they are able to remove your old license.
Can I use wallet funds to buy a PS+ subscription?
Yes, you can use the funds in your PlayStation wallet to purchase a PS+ subscription. Just make sure you have enough balance to cover the full cost, as the system won’t split the payment between wallet funds and another payment method.
Looking for some hidden gems/underrated masterpieces on PS Plus Extra/Premium. Not the usual mainstream recommendations like TLOU, God of War, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, etc.
Any genre is welcome — story-driven, RPG, horror, action, indie, mystery, etc.
Basically, what’s a game on PS Plus that you’d say “more people need to play this”?
I've added a couple of features since then and would love to get some feedback.
Quick recap for anyone new: SubSort is a web tool that helps you get the most out of PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass. You can browse both catalogs side by side and filter and sort by Metacritic score, time to beat, genre, date added, first-party vs third-party, co-op modes, and more, so you can pick what to play before it leaves. And now you can also look back on each month with ratings and tags, and see how much your subscription was worth on a single receipt.
You can now keep track of what you play right on the game cards. One tap bookmarks a game as Want to Play. The star icon lets you rate it, and the progress icon lets you log where you are: Playing, Paused, Finished, or Mastered. You can add start and end dates too, and just the year or month is fine if you don't remember the exact day.
You can also filter the catalog by your log, which makes it easy to pull up just your Want to Play list. Your log and the play log filters are saved to your account, so they follow you to any device. Other filter and sort settings are still saved in each browser, same as before.
2. Play Receipt
Play Receipt groups your play log by month and turns it into a receipt: every game you played that month with its list price, and the total at the bottom. It's a fun way to see how much your subscription actually gave you that month. Prices are US store list prices and don't include the subscription fee. If you're outside the US, you can switch to your own currency and enter prices yourself.
On the receipt, you can rate each game you played that month and tag what stood out: highs and lows like Good combat or Weak story, plus impressions like Hidden gem or Couldn't stop. It's a nice way to look back on the month, and your highest-rated game becomes your Game of the Month.
Any month's receipt can be shared as a link, and anyone can open it without signing in.
Sign-in is only for the new features
Play Log and Play Receipt need a free account (Google or an email sign-in link) so your log has somewhere to be saved. Browsing and filtering the catalog works exactly like before, no account needed.
Tip: start with this month
You can log games you played years ago, but when I tried going back through my whole history, it wore me out pretty fast. What worked better was starting fresh with this month and logging games as I play them. By the end of the month you'll have your first receipt without much effort.
Heads-up: regional differences
SubSort's catalog is based on the US Store. Most titles are consistent across regions, but the lineup can vary slightly by country. For the most accurate "leaving soon" list, check directly on each platform. PS Plus has to be checked on your console, while Xbox Game Pass can be checked on its official website:
PS Plus (console): PS Plus Menu → Collections (or Categories) tab → scroll to the very bottom → "Last Chance to Play"
Xbox Game Pass (web): "Leaving soon" section on the official website
Future plans: Surfacing these regional differences inside SubSort itself is something I plan to look into later on.
Outside the US? If the PS App opens instead of the store page
Since the catalog is based on the US Store, some games may not be in your region's store. If you have the PS App on your phone, tapping a game's cover or title opens the app instead of the web page, and the app won't show details for those games. Here's how to open the US store page in your browser instead:
iPhone (Safari): Long-press the cover or title and choose "Open in New Tab" once. After that, these links keep opening in the browser.
iPhone (Chrome): There's no setting for this, so you'll need to long-press and choose "Open in New Tab" each time.
Android: Settings → Apps → PlayStation App → Open by default → turn off "Open supported links". Menu names can vary a bit by phone.
If anything feels off, or there's a feature you wish existed, drop a comment. I read all of them.
What happened to sony lately? Its been ages we got a vr2 title. Last year we were getting one almost every other month. And this year its first i believe.
You can connect your PSN account and see where you stand with each game, what's still missing, and how difficult the rest of the completion might be. I've also been adding guides to help with the trickier parts.
It's still a work in progress, but the tracking, stats and guides are already live.
Would love to hear what you think, especially if there's something missing that would make it more useful.
Me and a friend want to play EDF Insect Armageddon together but they don't have premium directly on their account. I was wondering if I could Share Play it and then we play split-screen.
Also, from what I could tell, Nier Automata fits into this category, but I see people elsewhere saying it’s playable on PS5, can anyone confirm if it can be played on PS5 via PS Plus? Thank you!
edit** - the nier automata entry showing as PS4-only in my PS5 library turned out to be just a demo, and from the comments, this seems to be a question that is only relevant for demo copies, not full games!
Just lost my save data for rogue prince of persia on my ps5. Playing on cloud and can't find a recovery option at all... rip? I only had a couple hours but still sucks. Only noticed when I booted it up and the beginning text was crawling and it saved my profile...
I just upgraded my membership to premium to get access to Fallout 3 and New Vegas, because I really wanted to play these again. They were shown as available with premium but now I can only add them to my wishlist instead of playing them. I feel kinda scammed to be honest 🥲
Is that a mistake by Sony? Or are they just not available in the moment but will be soon?
(My store is in german btw, but i hope the pictures still help to understand my confusion)
I took the user score and the critic score of over 400 games and averaged them out. Anything that still had an average rating of over 80 got a short review showcasing gameplay and what the story is about.
Only about 25% still made the list but that's still a lot of great games on PS Plus. If you're new to the playstation ecosystem, you'll be spoiled with options.
If you only play the big triple A games, this video will expose you to the gems that went under the radar.
It's sorted alphabetically, starting with A games. Enjoy.
I’ve been grinding away at Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and didn’t want to redownload the game… I’ve played probably about 30/40 hours in the past couple of months, all on the cloud. I was just playing there & the game crashed & said my save corrupted. No big deal, I thought - I can just restore my previous save from my console to the cloud. It turns out that my last save on the console was for Dec 2025 (I’m not sure how as my saves regularly get synced) - and it looks like I’ve been set back about 50+ hours of game play.
Is there a way to recover the save file I was using on streaming play before it corrupted? Because I was genuinely about 30 mins off 100% completion/platinum & idk if I have it in me to repeat all of that tedious clean up grind for a second time…
EDIT: solved. Its a but troublesome, but you can go to the email your ps plus account is linked to, search the name of the game. If you have a receipt there (will come as 0 dollars) then you claimed it "forever" with the basic subscription. They do need to add a better way to do so, though.
Going to keep this post up for this "trick".
Just beat Silent Hill 2 remake because its leaving on the 20th (awesome game btw), and next would be Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Thing is, I am a bit tight on free time rn and would prefer to play it slowly, or even play it later on. I don't remember if I got it on the basic tier but as of now it doesn't show the same warning as Silent Hill 2 did, but still there is the symbol of the Extra catalogue next to it.
The MARVEL Tōkon PS Plus Pack contains 5 free avatars and a pose set covering every hero in the game. Just downloading the pack will give you the free avatars and they will be available in your PlayStation profile avatar selection page.
The PS Plus pack and avatars are available to all PS Plus subscribers.
I just think it would be pretty cool if I being honest.
(The ps3 games you had back then are kept still i just saying if ps5 games were in a version of ps3 if it were to be redid or updated).
Every month they take away between 5 to 8 games, and only put 2 or 3.
I get it they want to make the PS4 catalogue more robust, but why they have to remove so much content for us PS4 poor players who don't own a ps5? Sony is becoming the most anti consumer company ever.
