Help Friend with terminal illness went on transphobic rant, tried to fight me

• Upvotes

My friend that I have known longer than any of my other friends (15+ years) has got cancer. He's going through chemo and things honestly aren't looking great.

I went to visit him the other day, and the moment he saw me in his driveway he jumped out of his chair, like actually jumped, and RAN up to me screaming and spitting with rage. Mind you he had HEART SURGERY two days ago.

He called me every slur I've ever heard. Threatened to beat me, threatened to shoot me, I mean seriously I've never ever in my life heard someone get so irate. Not even online where anybody can say whatever they want. This was brutal. I got my car door between us and managed to get back in it. He told me never to come back to his property ever again. He was still out screaming by the road as I sped off.

Nobody (him, his wife, his adult kids who were there at the time) has reached out to me and I haven't reached out to them. I genuinely don't know where this came from or what I need to do. I don't even know if this would really be the right sub for this.

Help?

Good News finally feeling gender euphoria due to body fat changes

• Upvotes

EDIT: I feel kinda like shaggy from scooby doo when during the movie he drank that potion and turned him into a chick

i'm so happy, every day i looked at my body when I showered and saw more and more male development throughout the years and it just made me feel disgusted and kinda like riding a scary roller coaster at the top. i kinda just braced for it with age, but the more i resembled a "man" the less me I felt.

my body was square and rigid. i was bony and lanky, maybe a little feminine. but dude, i gained weight and i'm about 3 months in and i literally cried in the mirror noticing my body for the first time.. I have breasts, i have a WAIST (and it does that super hot thing like with the love handles like idk how to explain it but it's distinctly feminine), my thighs are rounded and curve beautifully now instead of two long hotdogs. I am framed like a woman. I would be happy if i literally had zero more growth.

BUT, i'm a butterface lmao. Meaning i'm pretty clocky because of my jawline, it's narrow but it's square so yeah. It's not terrible but mainly I can't figure out what to do with my hair like hairstyles wise, I have grown it out to my shoulders but it's just a frizzy curly mess and I also have a big forehead and male hairline. I have edges but they're not enough. If I could just cover my corners i'd be a 7/10 but imma try to layer it so some of the length from the middle or back falls more forward? I just wanna frame my face like a girl :((

Advice Question How do I smile pretty??

• Upvotes

I have been getting better at makeup and it makes me feel really pretty which is a new feeling but it’s actually so lovely!

But I feel like my smile looks so stupid and masculine. Has anyone else had this issue? How did you fix it?

Or is it just a thing I kind of have to live with?

Discussion **A dream that made me smile when I woke up 🩷**

• Upvotes

I had a dream that I was spending an entire day with a group of lovely trans girls. We went shopping, talked about our favorite clothes, laughed about silly things, and shared little moments together.

At some point, we sat in a café, and I looked around at everyone smiling. I felt so comfortable, like I had finally found a place where I belonged.

Nobody had to explain anything. We could just be ourselves and enjoy being together.

Then I woke up and realized how much I loved that feeling. I wish I could step back into that dream, even just for a little while. Maybe one day, a moment like that won't be just a dream anymore. 😊🏳️‍⚧️ Have you ever had a dream where you felt completely free to be yourself, surrounded by other trans girls? I'd love to hear your stories 😊🏳️‍⚧️

Advice Question Fav Non-medical Transition Tips/Links?

• Upvotes

Hello, all! I'm 38, married/parent (supportive spouse/family, thank goodness!), overweight, and have identified as Nonbinary for over 9 years now. Earlier this year, I expanded that to Nonbinary Transfeminine and started using they/she pronouns instead of just they/them. I feel like I've been drifting further and further femme ever since I cut the ties with masculinity (and good riddance!) and I don't know where that drifting will end. Will I realize I'm a trans woman after processing enough baggage? Will I stay Nonbinary Transfeminine, but with emphasis on the Transfeminine part of it? Will I be content just expanding my personal perspective and leave the rest as-is? I really don't know. Time will tell. But I DO know I want to embrace more of the feminine in my life in every way I can - whether it's only as a temporary experiment in the long run or if it's something that sticks.

So I was wondering what all of your favorite non-medical transition tips were? Or favorite links to pages with tips?

Any and all tips are welcome for others reading this post, but, for myself specifically, I already shave my body hair (or at least what I can reach - my back is still gross), I do makeup when I can (eyes mostly as that's the one area I feel like I kind of know what I'm doing), I shape my eyebrows, keep my nails long and paint them when I have time, my hair is long-ish and an androgynous style, and I have signed up for a clothing subscription box to help expand my wardrobe. I don't know if there's much more I can do in a general sense, but I would love to see what you all find helpful and maybe steal some of your ideas for myself! And I'm hoping others will see this and find helpful tips and tricks, too.

There are probably other threads like this out there, but I scanned the recent ones and didn't see any in the same vein. Sorry if I'm doubling up too much.

Venting how in gods creation am i supposed not to feel lonely

• Upvotes

hello i just made a throwaway account to vent im sorry if this is stupid
i live in belgium where no one really wants to sit with me, no one really wants to talk to me or befriend me
recently ive been trying to do a bit more effort into socializing as well and see if i can do to help more by talking to more people irl or going to a bar or do meetups or queer activities
none of them really worked out for me, nothing seems to vibe with me either. nothing horrendous but i just leave really empty
people tell me to install dating apps but all i get are people trying to date or they live in another country
even my online communities that i used to actually thrive in seemed to vanish
i genuinely think being trans is kind of a curse for me at this point and i dont know what to do because i feel like it affected a lot more of my life than i thought

i genuinely just want some friends i can hang out with, go to the pub once a week

i dont know maybe im just dumb

Euphoria HOLY I'M EUPHORIC

• Upvotes

So I'm on the bus rn and some girl tapped my leg and called me pretty! She corrected herself and called me handsome, but I said I accept both. I'm not even trying to pass rn, I just have my hair back. It makes me feel so tingly, but in a good way!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the guy next to her, while we were speaking, had his hood on and was looking away. But afterward, he was looking in my direction again. Idk if that means anything, but I thought it was interesting

Venting Feeling really dysphoric tonight 😢

I just don't know for how long I can hold on. There is no way to DIY and I can't get on estrogen until I turn 18. I am just gonna miss the best years of my life. On top of everything there is imposter syndrome saying that this all might be just sexual. I just wish I was never born at all

Venting Feels like ill never find love

I just feel like im too tall. I was born with a delicate soft face , I even got pretty big boobs from HRT. But it feels like genuinely nobody wants us. I feel like the only person who ever puts any work in a convo with me are couples who want a unicorn or really gross guys. Im not interested in most men. It feels like my only choice is other trans women. Which I do not mind but a lot of the ones I meet I do not vibe with. It seems a majority cis women are uninterested in trans women even when they are bisexual which again, more power to them. I just feel like my dating pool is just trans women. There are plenty of beautiful trans women. I just really like giving cunnilingus and I feel sad about not getting to do that. Of course sex is not life , but sex is a big thing. I struggle every day to not think “Hmmm maybe if I never transitioned this would not be a problem”. I have been alone for 2 years now and im starting to feel like thats how it is supposed to be. I just want to find that
someone. And dont know how or if it will ever happen.

Help I NEED YALLS HELP, IMPOSTER SYNDROME IS HITTING ME LIKE A TRUCK AND I NEED REASSURANCE

Ik i post a lot on this reddit, but theres so many questions i have, so many thoughts that i need help with so can yall help me again? so i need yalls help to make a judgement for me based on what you read here (MUST BE HONEST BTW) so heres a list of stuff both FOR and AGAINST me being the trans woman i want to be.

FOR BEING A GOATED GIRL:

I easily feel gender euphoria by even just IMAGINING myself as a girl, to the point where i literally feel giddy about it (at least when im not constantly testing myself).

I sometimes feel good about being called a girl.

I feel slight gender dysphoria with bein a boy.

Not a day goes where I dont think about it.

i sometimes feel slight aggression against my boy parts.

FOR BEING A MID BOY (AGAINST TRANS ME BASICALLY):

Its pretty hard to make those "Thought experiments" work for me.

I randomly experience... idk "cis episodes"? for a short time, uh i have no clue how to explain it, but its not like a feel comfortable as a boy all of a sudden, just feels slightly off to imagine myself as a girl for a short period of time and it fucks up my brain.

My gender dysphoria is VERY in the background, almost like it aint there.

It sometimes feels off to be called a girl (which contradicts the one in for me being a girl)

Trying lip gloss barely did anything for me (maybe i just need something more obvious)

hwell thats kind of it. make your judgement girls. (Note: I dont really like the idea of being just nonbinary/genderfluid or anything that isnt a trans girl)

Shapewear and padded bras are just normal clothes to most people, but I still catch myself feeling like my stuff needs explaining. Has that faded for you over time or does it hang around?

Discussion Forced Haircuts.

I am a trans woman and as a child I was almost forced to be bold every two weeks or three since I was a child until was 16.
Barbers felt like the end of the world for me

Did you have a similar experience?

What was it like? Did you get your head shaved as a child ? Why ? And how did it feel like, and what did your parents say?

Discussion Post Transition Girls: Are you happy? What keeps you going?

As a questioning transfem, I’m at a crossroads, and I’m guessing most of the people reading this were here at some point. I’d like to hear about your honest, and hopefully positive, perspectives.

I often come across conversations of how difficult the trans life is. From being abandoned by family and friends (possibly everyone you’ve known pre-transition) to being a recipient of discrimination and hate speech/crime and so much more every step of the way. It’s pretty depressing, and in many ways, continuing to present and live a cis life doesn't seem like the worst option in comparison.

Despite all the obvious challenges, are you happy in life? How do you deal with said challenges to make transitioning worth it?

Discussion Transphobia within LGBTQ+ community

I have this gay 'friend', who refuse to use feminine pronouns on me because I am still biologically male and pre transition. He says I am trying to seek attention. He, representing another huge portion of LGBTQ+ community, is condemning the majority of our community claiming we're seeking attention. They say 'real trans women' don't act like I do.

First, all of us LGBTQ+ individuals go through a lot of trauma. Therefore many of us express ourselves and cope with our disphoria differently. One might find being a male mildly irritating while another it drives suicidal. Therefore it's illogical and immoral to compare LGBTQ+ individuals.

Then, they're logic falls apart when they ask us to be 'normal'. What is normal ? If it is fitting into social norms, we're already breaking them. We aren't hurting anyone by being ourselves. Their logic is irrational because they're saying "It's okay to violate social norms, but only up to this extent". And that extent they don't mention.

The limit I consider, whether accepted or not by society is when one hurts another intentionally. Their limit is what feels modest to them. Modesty is not solid. It's dynamic. What was modest a hundred years ago is ridiculous today and vice versa. They demand us to live up to their standards of modesty. These are the same people who dress code women. These are the same people who refused women to wear pants.

When they say we're giving bullets to transphobes projecting a bad image of community to the society, they're once again demanding us to live up to their standards. We giving bullets won't be a problem if they choose not to shoot.

Advice Question New jobs

Hey dolls, so I had my egg crack about a month ago and I've been on work comp for the last 2 months and came to a realization that my current job isn't exactly what one might call conducive to being trans friendly.

So where I'm going with this, are there any formerly or current blue collar girls out there with any advice on what I might do, that'd be less hostile environments? My largest roadblock in theory, is I only have a HSD and no degree. Currently I work for my local county's highway department, doing road maintenance and snow plowing.

Any advice or recommendations would be incredibly appreciated!

Dysphoria I’m afraid I will never love my body enough to feel worthy of someone else’s love

My body is wrong all over. Wide ribcage, 20” shoulders, muscular back, big feet (for my height), huge calves. I’m a year on hrt now and I’m really, really afraid i will never look okay in the mirror. I hate waking up in the morning and seeing my male looking frame in the mirror. Shirts hang from me like a coat hanger and nothing made for women looks good on me.

How am I supposed to believe anyone will love me like this? I can’t even love myself. Straight men and lesbians would consider me a pale imitation of a woman. I want nothing more than to be viewed as a woman, but I don’t know if that will ever happen at this rate. My face and body are just so awful. I hate living day to day feeling like my life is stuck in pause because I’m not pretty enough to do anything. I feel unsightly outside even when presenting as a guy.
