I waste so much time and I hate it

I procrastinate so much and I feel like between when I wake up and when I go to bed nothing happens. Its so sad because at the end of the day I swear I won't do it anymore and I'll actually focus, get my work done, and get to do something worthwhile but it never ends up happening. I have a list of things I want to do and I haven't scratched any of them off. Even right now I'm telling myself tomorrow is the day.

I can't do assignments until the very last minute and I always regret doing the whole stressful last minute routine. It is so upsetting. Before going to college I had time to exercise, do my hobbies, go out with friends. Now I don't do any of that. Instead of reading or watching something when I have downtime I just scroll. I hate myself. The only thing I do is homework and studying and classes I don't feel like I'm living at all. My classes are hard but not so hard that it should be all I do. I waste so much time doing something that would take so little time if I actually sat down and focused. I just keep dragging it out :(

Does anyone have any advice on how to stop. It is 8pm and I wasted another entire day doing nothing. I'm so lucky to go to this school and these 4 yrs are going by way too fast in the future I'm going to look back at what I did here and say wtf why didn't I try harder or make the most out of it. I want to stop so badly and I'm telling myself tomorrow is that day but I've been saying this for so long now.

We met at UCLA, winter '24

Between you and me was a world of little moments. Even now, I can scarcely recall them all. We laughed, and we walked. We shared our music, our doodles, our secrets. I borrowed your jacket. I watched you make a bouquet. I remember the smell of your perfume. I picked you up from a pile of leaves. You sat next to me when I was alone. We drank, and we loved, and we rode under the moonlight. I shivered, and you were warm. I cried, and you lifted me up. You once said to pretend it was all a dream. That you'd go off the cliff with me. Asked if we could run away together. But after it all, you said you wouldn't make it through this summer. I hope you did. Because when you're gone, it's only going to be me who has all those little moments. And when it's my turn, those little moments will belong to no one at all.

I studied for the wrong fucking exam

I was at the library putting pen to paper to study for my midterm tomorrow and it hit me: im studying for the wrong fucking exam. I was supposed to be preparing for the class that i havent been to since week 1. Matter of fact, i wasnt even in the library. I realized there was no pen in my hand—’twas my dick! There was no ink on the paper either… just another liquid substance on my computer screen where it was playing my hot professor’s syllabus lecture.

I know, im so fucked.

As i calculated what i would need to get on my final exam to pass the class, i realized that gooning should be a privilege, not a habit. If i do it on the daily just because, i’ll never make it anywhere in life. But if i jack off every other day, AFTER i study for my hot professor’s class, not only will i succeed in life, but i’ll be able to see her again next quarter!

Take this as a lesson boys. Now im rewatching that lecture from the start but with no dick in hand. Just a real, genuine, no.2 pencil.

One of my dream school is UCLA but I have low stats. My sat score is 1210: math:670, reading:540. UW gpa: 3.65; W: 4.13. I've taken 7 AP classes, 5 dual credit. My rank is 193/623. My ecs are varsity tennis, mentored sophomores, internship at an engineering facility: reveling technical drawings on excel, robotics club, winning first place, owned/ created successful business, social media manager for a club, translater for my grandparetns; family responsibility. I speak fluently 3 languages and am learning French in highschool. I have a very diverse international background. None of my parents nor I was born in the US. I really want to get into mechanical engineering,do u think I have a chance, what advice would you give me.

Applying out of state, women, Hispanic/white

Our School Doesn't Do Halloween Right

If the weather is right this year, I'm either taking the train or borrowing my filthy neighbor's clean car (I help him wash it sometimes) to UCSB. Our school has nothing on the parties at UCSB. I want to wear as least as possible clothes to go as a bare bachelor to demonstrate that we don't need a whole lot to enjoy shit despite the fucked up economy.

I mean like, fucking...last year there was a party at a little house (they have a lot of little houses ar Isla Vista there). The DJ started playing a very strange song called Goodbye Horses 🐎 and this one guy who I assumed was living there walked down the stairs and threw down his robe in a thong asking if anybody would f-ck him because he would fuck himself as everyone cheered him on. I was somewhere between laughing and feeling uneasy at what he was going to do next before he started jumping up and down to the next song.

I might just go there in my robe wearing a towel underneath to make it easy if anyone wants to take it off me. I'll ask the DJ to play Come Ride the Pony as I'll emerge from the bathroom with a cigar in my mouth laughing hysterically as my entrance.

We all need to practice having public speaking skills and ego-centric entrances as well. Everyone here has some shit they want to lay down to make themselves known. And mine isn't for free. You have buy me dinner first so I can post it on Instagram without showing you!

None of those trash liner tarps covering the entrances to frat houses along Gayley have NOTHING on UCSB. Cheap school bus riders!

It's no wonder why in middle school, on a Monday morning the bus smelled like ass and liqour and we stared at the bus driver asking what went on in the back. Now I know why. Those p-ssy ass go round frat Smegas probably had rented it.

should i transfer here as a pre med?

I got into ucla my senior year but ended up choosing my local csu, since I thought it’d be less competitive and would make it easier for me to get into medical school. But I feel like I’m missing out on the college experience of leaving my hometown and getting to explore life. It’s been easy to get research opportunities and getting club leadership and such but it’s because nobody does anything on campus. I’m considering applying to transfer to UCLA because I regret my decision. Do you guys think it’s worth it? I initially rejected my offer because I thought the premed environment at UCLA would be too oversaturated and it’d be difficult for me to get into medical school. Is this true?

Wild Friday Night at Wooden

I went for a workout at night after dinner and I was approaching an empty locker to stuff my shit in. And out from the bathroom comes my professor of a very difficult class. He came out panting with a huge grimmace on his face like I just saw something that I shouldn't have. I think he took a shit that harder than the fucking exams we're about to be slammed with.

Then, after my workout as I was showering, some guy brought an air horn and kept blowing it while singing. He ran before I could see him.

I brought it up to the front desk on my way out and they told me that they caught word that some group of guys wants to go streaking there, so the front desk folks have these little waterballoons in a box and they're filled with spicy liquids and dye to throw at them in case it ever happens.

I’m taking ANTH 3 this quarter (Fall 2026)
There are a few things on the midterm study guide that I couldn’t find in the lecture or section slides. I need to know what these terms mean or what I'm supposed to know about them? 😭

How to meet/talk to people in lecture?

Genuine question--try not to make fun of me. I am a 3rd year STEM major, and my major is small enough where I take many courses with the same people in my graduating class. I have always sat in the back of lecture halls by myself or sometimes with a friend. Taking the honors courses my 1st year helped me connect with a handful of people in my major, but beyond that, the rest are mostly peripheral (which is not unexpected).

Meeting people through clubs, work, or any tighter-knit activity is much more approachable than trying to spontaneously talk with people I have seen for three years but never interacted with. Study groups are a nice idea but they never clicked with me, as my work schedule makes meeting difficult and I fare much better academically than my peers.

So with that said, how do you guys do it?

Best of the Best

I liked the movie, light, unserious fun. But the least believable part was how big the freshman dorm rooms were. They had a spacious double, good light, and private bathroom ! Should had them sweating it in a classic triple.
