I am going to have a midterm with this professor soon. From what I have heard, people are suggesting that I review the textbook and go through the quizzes and homework. However, from what I have seen, a lot of the material from the textbook is not present in the slides he gives, and a lot of those slides are not covered in the lectures he gives. Because of this, I am confused about what to really cover. Also what sources I should use to practice other than just the smart book since for the homework you can't really redo them its kind of hard to practice with them. Are there any practice exams or anything anyone can share from even other teachers to see how or what type of question might appear i feel like i am going in blind not exactly sure what to expect on the test and its kind of stressing me out. Much appreciate any help.

Im applying to master’s programs this cycle, with some of my earliest deadlines around December 1, and I’m having trouble getting responses from professors about recommendation letters.

I initially emailed several professors I’ve taken classes with and who I thought could speak positively about my work. I have also sent follow-up emails, but most of them still have not responded. I understand that this is a busy point in the quarter, so I don’t want to keep emailing them to the point where it becomes annoying.

So, I wanted to ask if it’s normal for professors not to respond to recommendation requests through email as it has been 2 weeks? Another thing I could try is going to their office hours, but I can’t find the times since I’m no longer in their classes. If anyone knows how to find those, it would be very helpful.

Edit: Thank you for everyone's advice, ill probably be able to get all the recs by the end of the month now.

CSE 101M might genuinely be the easiest class I've ever taken. I still don't understand why it's considered an upper-division CS course when it should honestly be a GE. The homework and exercises are ridiculously easy, and you barely have to study to get 100s on the tests. I'm convinced you could walk into an exam without preparing and still get a perfect score. I've genuinely never seen a class this free. Easiest A of my life. They should honestly make this class harder because it's almost insulting how little effort it takes.

So since I moved in last month, I have had my Xbox Series X registered within the ResWifi-Devices network. I have the correct wireless MAC Address registered and have been typing the password in correctly yet I still can't connect for whatever reason. I have been using the guest wifi since which has worked perfectly until yesterday. Whenever I connect, it says that "It cant connect to the DHCP server". Has anybody else had this exact same issue? If so, how do I fix it? I've contacted IT and so far they haven't been that much of a help.

Hi everyone! I'm looking for people to join me for the Ideathon(we get money if we win!). My idea is an AI powered stuffed toy for children. It can teach children, play interactive games with them, provide emotional support when they're having a hard time (like dealing with bullying), and encourage them to participate in activities with their families. I'd also like the toy to have physical movements and interact with children in a more engaging way. One of my main goals is to prioritize child safety, since current AI toys can sometimes generate inappropriate or harmful responses.

Hello! Has anyone here successfully received a retroactive withdrawal? My advisor feels I have a valid case, and I’m currently waiting for the committee to review it. I’ve heard that retroactive withdrawals can be notoriously difficult to get approved, so I’m curious how true that is based on others’ experiences. the rent is 985 month not including utilities which average around 200 dollars. Its a 7 person cooperative house with very loving and supportive housemates of almost exclusively queer and trans people. Everyone mostly keeps to themselves but is super supportive of each other. If your more introverted, the walls are thick and all doors have locks.
