Yesterday we were car pooling to a baby shower and one of my wife's friends was driving our car. SiriusXM popped up a notification that said "sounds like Carolina is playing right now. Want to listen?" and he thought he was being nice and changed the station to the game.
It was just before the 2 minute warning and we were ahead 10-nill. Once I realized what happened I told him I have a superstition that I can not watch or listen to Carolina's games live or we will lose. I told him I have tried to overcome this fear multiple times, but have never been successful. We all laughed about it and he was like, "bro, it's fine. Let's just listen."
... Only for the birds to score, for us to get a penalty on the kick return, a penalty on first down, a penalty on the second play...
And then he changed that channel back to whatever music channel we had on before and was like, "sorry... I didn't understand."
Made me happy to hear that they overcame the handicap I forced onto the team. I was worried the damage was done.
