Anything I watch looks 2-3 times better on a Mac screen.

The dell and Lenovo screens don’t even have have half the clarity on a Mac.

Even the budget MacBook Neo has a very good display.

Remember the Apple cinemas display? They were very good and even though they weren’t 4k, still very clear.

I won a brand new unopened mac mini (m6,16gb, 256gb) at a community raffle - unopened although the plastic is off the box. Has anyone directly experienced turning in an unopened machine for store credit to buy the bigger capacity model? No gift / original receipt. Google is inconsistent in its AI answers.

I have one dumb question. Is there a way to have “natural scrolling” be different for mouse vs trackpad?

I recently tried to upgrade my OS version, but ran into various problems, mainly due to disk space running out and decryption stalling. At the end my HD ran out of memory and no hack worked. Spent hours entering code into terminal in recovery mode as instructed by AI.

What finally did the trick was safe boot. You hold the shift key while starting up and the system clears out hidden files and caches. Amazing, how much it freed up.

I’m in the UK so the MacBook Air doesn’t come with a charger but the Apple one being £59 is VERY expensive, what chargers are good for the MacBook that are much cheaper? Whilst I’m waiting for that will my regular USB C adapters be sufficient or will it brick my battery?

When I use Force Touch Search on a Mac, I've noticed that when I search for any 2-letter word, I get a blank screen. I've noticed this since OS 27. Is anyone else's Mac doing this?

Just got a new M5 Pro after 5.5 yrs working with the first model M1.

Did migration assistant which had to be done a second time since my desktop didn't migrate over. Once the second migration happened I had another user folder "acandela_1" which had folders with zero bytes to the folders. I checked all the folders and no content, so I deleted them.

This is where it gets *interesting*. The acandela_1 folder itself shows that there is 39GB in this folder and it has 1 item. You can see this in the "Get Info" details. But the folder is empty of any content. I contacted Apple senior support and we troubled shooted every possibility to delete this folder. I've worked with Apple products for about two decades and this particular issue has me stumped!

After mulling over a few other tech scenarios, I began to think that this folder with "invisible content" could be connected to either iCloud and/or iCloud drive.

My dilemma is that if I turn off iCloud and/or iCloud Drive, I could lose some data and not certain if this would be associated with the acandela_1 folder. I'm aware I could download a copy but I think this would add more work than I need to isolate this issue with the second user folder.

We checked permissions and still not able to delete the folder. I can say I'm not a fan of the addition of the iCloud drive. It's easier (for me) to just have one source destination and leave everything there. Desktop, documents, etc.

If anyone has experienced this or something similar, or if not, what could be the solution to this? Again, I'm now leaning to it being Cloud related. Also created a TEST user to see if the folder would show up and it does with the same information.

Looking for high quality Wallpaper but can t find. Websites says "yeah bro its 4K" but when i download and Apply, its look like garbage. There are some websites, especially for Mac Wallpapers but they sell one wp for 7$. I guess due to Mac OS I have to find 5k Wallpapers. Do you have any recommend? What free websites or apps do you use for Wallpaper? I have 13.6" Macbook Air.

I recently purchased this 16 inch MacBook M4 pro (about 22 days ago)

I noticed when the lid is closed and I open it up, it opens normally. But while working, when I try to adjust the display backwards, the base lifts up with it, but the hinge doesn’t move and the base automatically drops halfway; after that, the hinge becomes smooth again and I can adjust it normally.

Is there any problem with my Mac’s hinge? Or is it considered normal when the display stays at an angle for a while, so maybe the hinge becomes stiffer?

This is my first MacBook and I have never used any other MacBook so I don’t know guys. Please help me out, I would really appreciate that 🙌

My ASUS Marshmallow KW100 keyboard and Arctic Fox wireless mouse were detected by my new MacBook Pro M4 Pro, but neither would connect.

The keyboard appeared under My Devices without a Connect button. The mouse also got stuck during pairing.

I tried Bluetooth pairing mode, switching keyboard channels, and reconnecting multiple times. Nothing worked.

The fix was surprisingly simple: restart the Mac.

After restarting, both the keyboard and mouse connected successfully.

What to try if your Bluetooth devices won't connect

1. Make sure your keyboard or mouse is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
2. If the device appears under My Devices but won't connect, restart your Mac: Apple menu  → Restart.
3. After your Mac starts up, open System Settings → Bluetooth.
4. Put the device into pairing mode and connect again.

If your keyboard or mouse connects to your iPhone but not your Mac, test it with your phone first. That helps establish whether the device itself is working.

The takeaway

Before resetting Bluetooth settings, deleting system files, or buying a new accessory, try restarting your Mac. In my case, that simple step solved the problem for both devices.

I tried deleting a bunch of my old files, and it was taking forever, so i tried to stop it and now its stuck like this. I cant seem to force quit the trash and I cant seem to restart normally either. Any suggestions on what to do?

Hello, I got this mb pro 2017 and realized that it was getting too slow while the fan is not running. I tried to run the Apple Diagnostics pressing D on starting (intel) but it start internet recovery instead. I then installed mac fan control to try to force the fan to run but as you see in the 3 picture it still doesn't. What are my options?

I set the dock to appear when my cursor moves to the bottom of the screen, but alot of the time it takes multiple attempts for it to appear, even when im not fullscreened. Anyone know why this happens? I feel like its a common issue since my friends mac does the same.

As you can see, documents and apps are completely eating up my storage. Does anyone have recommendations for trusted cleanup tools?

My Mac kept saying the disk was almost full, so I finally dug into "System Data".

Biggest surprises:

- Xcode simulator runtimes I hadn't touched in months, some marked as unusable

- DerivedData from projects I deleted a year ago

- Docker images and build cache, a few GB each

- node_modules in every old side project

- iOS DeviceSupport folders for iOS versions I don't even have anymore

The rule I ended up with: if it rebuilds itself (caches, build files, node_modules), it's safe to delete. If it's actually yours (screen recordings, old DMGs), look first.

I've been a happy Apple Studio Display user for about 6 months now.

One thing that's starting to annoy me is having to move the CalDigit cable back and forth between my iMac and MacBook Pro. My fear is that sooner or later I'll wear out or damage the connector.

Is there a better way to do this?

I heard you can leave two Macs connected to the Studio Display and just keep one turned off. Does that actually work?

I was also thinking of changing my setup a bit. Instead of using the dock as the center of everything, I could use it only for the external peripherals and connect each Mac directly to the Studio Display. I'm hoping that might even give me slightly better display quality.

Anyone running a similar setup? Any tips or comments?

Hello! I am wanting to sell my M4 IMac with higher specs on eBay but I am really worried about the shipping costs, I also don’t have the original box so I would be buying 2 large heavy duty Home Depot boxes and lots of bubble wrap.

Is it worth it to ship via eBay? I am trying to sell it locally but no one seems to want it. It’s in perfect condition and I’ve only used it like maybe 15 times since I bought it less then a year ago.

I have an old USB 3.5" drive enclosure with a 1 TB Seagate drive as a Time Machine backup drive.

It works, but occasionally just disconnects from the Mac. I have to power-cycle the enclosure to make it reconnect.

It's always done this, and I've always assumed it's a bug or some incompatibility with macOS. I think it has something to do with the Mac going to sleep. My newer USB enclosure used to do the same thing, but it appears that Golden Gate may have resolved its issue.

I don't guess there's anything that can be done to fix it, eh?
