Rant Don't fuck with me

Post image
• Upvotes

My teachers have been complete assholes to me. I talked to them all privately about in summary all they really said is that they pay extra attention to me because I dress unprofessionally and, (I wear Bendavis and proclub). in middle school I was seen as a threat to admin with one reason being they way I dress and two because I'm a bigger kid so when I wanna defend my self I get treated as the aggressor, schools need to pay more attention to staff and the way they treat kids, in the picture above I was apparently supposed to write something when no other kid was and everyone was looking at the scene that my teacher was creating to embarrass me or something.

Question MY MOM MIGHT FIND OUT ABT MY LONG DISTANCE BF.. WHAT DO I DO?? LMAOO

Brooo I'm cooked. I currently don't have my phone..
I was on facetime with my bf and she suddenly burst in and asked who I was call with. She wanted to see his face and I just panicked LMAO. To be honest I don't mind telling her the truth about it, just not when my brothers are gonna be involved in the conversationnnn. Like when she was asking me about it my brothers were being annoying asf making unnecessary comments and just coming in my room so I didn't really wanna say the truth.

Extracurriculars Looking for a high schooler to discuss and debate views

I'm a high schooler with mostly left leaning political views. Im looking to engage with right leaning high schoolers for real, honest conversations about specific aspects of politics and compare our views. My goal is to have strong debate, where maybe one of us convinces the other, but both of us walk away learning something new.
If you're interested in doing something like this, please comment here.
Note: Not interested in empty rhetoric or superficial commentary or any mudslinging.

Question Anyone else's school have that garbage policy where you get cut off after a few absences and forced to get a doctor's note?

I feel that there is a critical and overdue change to public school attendance policies across the country.

Currently, many school districts enforce a rigid cap on excused absences, often allowing as few as six days per semester before requiring a formal doctor's note for any future illness. While these policies are built to secure state funding and track chronic truancy, they basically ignore the reality of student health, academic performance, and mental well-being.

The current "seat-time" system feels like a broken metric that optimizes for bureaucratic compliance rather than actual education. It treats physical presence as a proxy for learning, penalizing responsible, high-performing students who get sick, stay home to protect their peers, and successfully master their coursework from home.

Does your school have this exact policy, and how do you guys deal with it? It feels like we are forced to choose between our grades, our health, or paying for doctor's notes for a basic cold.

Class Advice Needed/Given should i drop a class?

so ive been struggling a lot with my ap physics 1 class and my teacher cant really teach and whenever i asked hes just telling me what is given and whats the formula to use from the question, he never really teaches us how to actually do it hes just introducing us a new topic, the definition, formula then give us some practice questions give us 3 minutes then show us answer, he never show us how to work it out step by step on a board, just straight up give us the answers. and im not the type student who can understand immediately, im not smart like that, and ive tried self-study almost everyday using most my time to study hard for this class, but the slides he gives us are only practice questions with his answers. and bcs every tests i had even after retakes i still get an F and my overall grade is D+, and im a senior so this is really ruining my whole gpa, and my director my academics wont let us drop a class bcs it's too late. are there any advices how to convince her to let me drop this class?

Rant I feel like all my effort kinda went nowhere

• Upvotes

I'm a senior right now and I feel like all my efforts are going down the drain. I did everything right, I prioritized academics (2nd in my class), did all the clubs associated with my field, did all the aps I could and even started doing college prep in junior year. I'm actually applying now to 1 college because every single other option is closed for me and even THAT ONE COLLEGE might be.

My main issue is financial aid. I can't get federal loans, I can't apply to most scholarships because of citizenship status, I can't apply for Fafsa and all that- so I'm stuck going instate. My family cannot afford more than 500-1000 out if pocket, which is near impossible outside of community College with one exception.

Than I go and realize I possibly might not be able TO DO nursing clinicals at this college. I havent called but its like... whats the point of going to the college and applying if I cant even do clinicals??? I cant even afford this college w/o a scholarship only 20 people receive so im even more pissed off.

Trust me I did questbridge too and i couldnt do the match because all the schools who offered nursing either had horrible AP policies or were too far away for me to be able to legally bind to them. Im still doing regular match but unless i nab a full ride its not an option really.

I'm just sad because everyone around me got my hopes up high and it all fell down. Like I shouldn't have believed them (they know my issues yet are still oblivious to most of it) but i feel like i put all this effort for nothing (I like studying but i sacrificed my mental and physical health for my spot and i would have liked not to do that if i knew it wouldnt work out)

I know it isn't set in stone but I still feel like a fool in this.

Question How to make friends as a transfer.

I’m a new sophomore and it’s been 3 months of being alone and literally having zero friends. Nobody knows who the fuck I am but there are really cool people in my classes and I know someone at my school on social media and we’ve had brief talks. He allowed me to sit at his lunch table but I chickened out so when I asked again he denied it and I just didn’t ask again after that. I don’t know how to just start because everybody is already in their groups and it’s already been three months. Am I just screwed?

Extracurriculars High School Project Looking for a Django/PostgreSQL Developer

Hi everyone!

We're a team of high school students working on a project called the Household Energy Resilience System, and we're looking for another student developer to join our team and help manage our hosting and database infrastructure.

Our project aims to help households optimize electricity usage, schedule appliances efficiently, and improve energy resilience during power outages. We already have a Django backend, a frontend, and a Python-based optimization system in development.

What we need help with

We're looking for someone with experience in:

  • PostgreSQL: Database setup, configuration, migrations, backups, and recovery.
  • Django: Connecting Django reliably to a PostgreSQL database.
  • Hosting and deployment: Maintaining our existing application on Render or helping us migrate to a suitable alternative.
  • Environment configuration: Managing environment variables and database connection settings securely.
  • Reliability: Establishing a sustainable, preferably free hosting and database setup that won't unexpectedly expire or put our data at risk.

What you'll be doing

You'll primarily take responsibility for the project's hosting and database infrastructure, working alongside our existing developers. This includes assessing our current setup, helping with database migration if necessary, configuring deployment, and setting up a reliable backup process.

We're not looking for someone to rebuild the project from scratch. We need someone who can help us maintain and improve what we've already built.

Who we're looking for

  • A high school student with practical experience in Django, PostgreSQL, or web deployment.
  • Someone comfortable troubleshooting technical issues and learning independently.
  • A reliable team player who can communicate progress and document their work.

This is an unpaid, volunteer role in a high-school student-led project. We're hoping to find someone who wants to gain practical experience, collaborate with other students, and contribute to a real-world technology project.

Interested?

Comment below or send me a DM with a brief introduction, your experience with Django/PostgreSQL/deployment, and any relevant projects you've worked on.

Thanks!

Question Did joining extracurricular activities in HS actually help you make friends?

All in all I graduated High school almost 14 years ago. High school was not the best for me. I was one of the most unpopular/most hated person in that school. It all started the very second I walked into the school my freshman year. I wasn’t making friends and was being bullied. When I complained that I wasn’t making friends. Everyone told me to join clubs and it will help me make friends. Well…I did that and still no one wanted to be friends with me. I got bullied for being in the clubs that I was in. And the kids in the clubs didn’t even acknowledge me. I gave up on clubs my junior year. Every time I read an article about making new friends in high school. Every single one of them say ‘join a club to meet likeminded people’ and I always think to myself. ‘That doesn’t work because I joined clubs and I didn’t make any friends and the kids were hostile towards me. Am I the only one this has happened to? Did joining clubs help you make new friends?

Shitpost So, this happened.

I’m sitting in class right, and my teacher is talking about how she likes the flavor of coconut, but not the texture. so I ask her “what about piña coladas?” she says “me and frozen alcoholic beverages are not a good idea.” so I go on to tell her about my trip to Florida, and I’m telling her about how I went to the Mai Kai and how I ordered a virgin Piña colada. and how it was in fact NOT virgin, but a bit slutty. and she bursts out laughing and the girl next to me thought o it was so funny that she fell out of her seat.
