Freeze warning for the overnight which means today was an everything must go type of situation. Then onto tuber storage the rest of the weekend…

In the meantime, I’m enjoying being surrounded by blooms for the last time this season and missing them already! ☺️

Hi Everyone!

Just dropping some of my Blooms since bringing my Hibiscus inside for the cold seasons. Even my propagated babies are blooming at only a couple inches tall.

Enjoy!

She might succumb to frost over the weekend, so here's my favorite pepper plant of the season. I loved the colors she blessed me with all summer!

I’m so disappointed. Why are my carrots so small?

Post image

I planted these carrot seeds in February. They were in a five by five raised bed filled with about six inches of fully processed compost on top of native soil in dappled sunlight. The compost is a combination of cardboard, garden and kitchen scraps, lawn clippings and partially composted straw from my chicken coop using the deep litter method. They were watered all season on a schedule. Why are they so tiny (large seed packet for scale). Any tips or tricks are appreciated.

Anyone know what kind of okra this is?

I cannot remember where I got the seed pack. Also, I’ve had quite a few people tell me they’ve never seen flowers like this on an okra plant.

It’s only my second year gardening, and first time growing okra so any info would be appreciated.

What to do about all these cosmos?

Post image

We moved into this house in June, and the previous owners were known for their flowers. I’ve never gardened, we had a lot going on so we just let it’s do its thing and the cosmos overran everything.

This was fine at first, the neighborhood loved the wild look, became a bit of a photo spot for people on their walks.

But as it’s getting cooler things are dying off as you can see. Should I be pulling up / trimming back the brown dead ones? Leave the dried seeds for the birds (big bird neighborhood)?

Didn't plant bells but wonder if there was a seed mixup or plant mislabeled. Not even sure of the variety.

Hi, just found this strawberry in my garden. Why does it have leaves instead of some seeds? 😂

Was already in my garage when I got a frost warning. Went out to my garden without a bowl to get a couple of runner beans to try and use as seeds next spring, ended up being more than I was expecting and figured I would take the tomatoes as well, only a couple look like they will ripen okay, I’ll use the rest for some green salsa, apparently these also could work as a substitute for tomatillos.

Anyways, Surprisingly spacious pockets and I got a lot in one trip, would not recommend for ripe pickings but it helped me out tonight

It is supposed to get down to 30s tonight, and then tomorrow be back up to 70s. I can bring my peppers into the house, but I cannot bring my raised beds with Tomatoes, Onions, Squash, and Herbs. Is there a chance they'll be alright?

No photo to attack apologies! I am just mildly worried about my poor plants.

I raked and planted the outskirts of my yard, with deer and turkey fodder seeds. Among the seeds were some radish varieties. didn't plan on eating any of this stuff as I have a regular veg garden but these made for a delish stir fry with beef and the radish greens as well.

The seeds came from MI gardener. Two cobs came out this way but I’m not sure if they’re from the same plant. I am however positive that all the seeds I planted were red. The cobs are fully formed and dried out on the plant. I just have them doing the second stage of drying indoors as decor.
