We’ve had a few…incidents lately. So, let’s just cover something again: Rule 1: Be Nice. This is a plant sub, and I’m shocked at the amount of drama that occurs on a regular basis here. The attitudes get crazy. You should always be mindful to how you speak to people; you may have an answer to correct a potential issue, or help others, but there is always a right way and a wrong way to say things.
The sub is mostly made up of home hobbyists, of all levels. From absolute beginners, to experts, and everything in between. And, thus, we also have a huge variety care needs and habits, climates and environments. We love it when professionals, or growers with many many years of experience come on and share input, advice, and of course their plants! We do not love it when people take their experience too seriously, and bully others for doing things their own way.
We also have to remember, not every person may be as passionate about their plants as others are. “We listen, and don’t judge.” Someone has a terrarium doomed to fail, but they wanna do it anyways? Let them. Someone has a packed arrangement in sand, because that’s what they want? Cool, move on. That sun starved etiolated plant at OP’s desk makes them happy despite suggestions to make it healthier? Don’t harsh their buzz. Let’s all do better about being a welcoming subreddit for both beginners and veterans of the hobby.
Once again, I know many of us really want everyone to have the healthiest, “happiest” plant(s) around. And it’s fine to offer suggestions to better someone’s care. But if the OP ignores or passes on suggestions, please just accept and move on.
If you are ever harassed via chat, or in another sub by anyone, please don’t hesitate to report them to the admins, but also please send us a modmail regarding that user. This also applies if someone follows you to our sub from elsewhere, report the comment or send us a modmail. We may ask for screenshots to be sure of the situation. We don’t ban users willy-nilly, but harassment will never be accepted.
And for anyone who breaks these rules, and gets themselves a ban, when you rage at us in modmail it doesn’t hurt our feelings because we are adults. Sorry you’re unable to be an adult about things. But then again, people who bully others on the internet lack some maturity to really be classified as adults. ♥️

she left me with some of her plants since she's moving and i potted them together.
is the specific one in the foreground supposed to be expensive? she said she got it for $90 but she doesn't remember its name. she says the other were cheap.
some of leaves fell during repotting so i just stuck them into the soil. not sure at all if those will propagate!

Mama in the center surrounded by all her babies (leaf grown) in a 9in shallow planter. The two bluer ones were on a different shelf but are also her babies.

Though unglazed terracotta is best, I just wanted to let folks know who already don't know (like me in the beginning) that you can turn almost anything into a planter and make holes in all those pots that don't come with drain holes with a cheap set of diamond drill bits. Also, visiting your local second-hand store can save you lots of money on pots and really get your creative juices going! Share some photos of your most creative planters!

This is a pot of random cuttings I got from someone. My mom, ironically. She has a mother of millions, and it got into the pot without her realizing. There's two of them in her as far as I can see. I noticed awhile ago.
.. I know how infamous these things are. I love Kalanchoe as a whole, but.. Should I nuke it? They're still super tiny, just little sprouts

Among succulents, this plant belongs to the unique group of species with an inverted life cycle (growing in winter).

I am attaching some photos of my Sansevieria. I water it once per 3-4 weeks. It is located on southern windowsill. I am worrying about its leaves.
What can I do to help?

Since I was given this plant a year ago, it has been drying out from the center outward. I don’t know what’s wrong with it or how to take care of it.
I took some cuttings that I planted in a pot and they took well, but now some leaves are starting to dry out the same way.
Can anyone help me?

Saved this baby from M&S store in the beginning of summer. It had several scars, but was doing fine until last week when this spot appeared. What can it be? It is not mushy, I’d say it’s dry. There was no water coming onto the leaf (I water approximately once in 2-2.5 weeks, when lower leaves feel softer). The plant sits in a terracotta pot, SE windows (UK), and gets very diffused growth light for 6 hours in the evenings (it reacted to a straight light and was tolerating diffused much happier).
Thank you for your help

This is Audrey, my Pinwheel aeonium prop. She fell off my bigger Pinwheel aeonium in October of last year and I potted her up.
The reason for the jump between October and April in these progress photos is that during those months I lost her completely. I have brutal winds on my balcony and have lost more than one baby as a sacrifice to the wind gods. I figured Audrey was one such sacrifice.
Fast forward to April, I was organizing the shelves on the balcony and lo and behold, on the floor under a shelf was Audrey! Looking shriveled but where there's green - there's hope. I potted her up and nursed her back to health.
In May she began to really perk up and through the hot summer and now back in fall, she is thriving!
What a resilient little plant. Welcome back Audrey!
