Video Dr. Holly cameo!!

• Upvotes

Hi everyone last month my friend and I of many many years got in a horrible fight. She said some pretty awful things. Things that will replay in my mind for years. But anyways I blocked her on everything and haven’t talked to her in a month. She knows how much I love dance moms and that Holly is my favorite dance mom. She bought a cameo for me from dr Holly as a last attempt to apologize. I’m still not sure if I should accept it or not but I thought yall would enjoy it!!

watching the show and having personally competed with the ALDC when i was younger, i’ve never seen nia wear braids for competitions. i can only assume abby didn’t allow it, but i find it pretty ironic that kendall, a white girl, has cornrows in for “stomp the yard” 😭 interesting how that works… just food for thought.

Question/discussion Do you think Maddie feels guilty about how the other girls were treated?

Everyone is always coming up with reasons on why Maddie doesn't want any association with Dance Moms. Whether it's because of how much pressure she was put under, or because of her mom, Abby, Sia, production, whoever. It could be all of the above, but i want to offer a different perspective.

The show paints her in a good light with the favoritism sure... but it doesn't give her grace with the fanbase. Sure now everyone is aware that Maddie was also abused in a different way, but it wasn't always like that. I've been in the fandom since 2015 and the fan reception of her was very different than it is now. And i'll even admit that as a child I did dislike Maddie on the show (obviously my feelings have changed) because of how she was treated differently than the others. I think everyone can agree that it was no fault of hers of course–but on production and Abby. I think Maddie even realized this because she said when she watched the first season, she cried because it made her out to be a brat. I don't think she ever was, and even if she did have bratty moments she was still a kid. All of us were fortunate enough as to not have all of our worst moments as a child aired on television every week for the world to judge.

Saying this, I do think Maddie has some guilt about how it all played out. Of course the show made her a star and I do think she's grateful for the experience, and even though none of it was really her fault, I think if she could go back she would try to do things differently or maybe not do it at all. I think most people forget that the girls were all her best-friends and that it was probably uncomfortable for her to be propped up by Abby and for them to be torn down. Who wouldn't feel guilt in situations like that? And you can clearly see the distress by the way she cracks her knuckles and bites her nails. It's a win-lose situation for her. And I'm sure she felt bad when the mothers would fight, because most of the time it was about her preferential treatment. Maddie even says "I'm sorry" during Kelly's fight with Abby, so obviously she was aware of what was going on and that it only happened because of the duet she did.

I don't think Maddie ever agreed with Abby that she was better than everyone else. And even if she were to talk about Dance Moms now, what could she even say that would appease people? How does she talk about the favoritism without coming off as full-of-herself, or discrediting her talent completely?

I think Melissa is at fault for this the most out of everyone. She could've and should've put a stop to what Abby was doing but instead she encouraged it. I honestly don't know how Maddie and Kenzie have not gone no-contact with her yet. I know Maddie said that Melissa apologized but I don't think that is enough. And honestly her not speaking to Abby might be because of her abuse, but also for the other girls' treatment too. Even her little sister, who she arguably loves most in this world, was treated horribly. So why would she keep Abby in her life?

Anyway, that's just my two cents. I'm sorry if this has been said before a million times it was just on my mind.

Dance moms rant

• Upvotes

You know who needed to get beat tf up? Gianna! When she’s alone with the moms she cries and acts like she doesn’t know what to do, but when Abby’s there?!?? She smirks with Abby and rolls her eyes as if what the moms are saying is so ridiculous. Yeah that’s my rant

As what the other comment said, Jess was indeed a raging bitch. But this is the second time I’ve heard her say that she thought that Jess genuinely did not like them, the first was when her and Brynn were talking on Brynn’s podcast a few years ago. I’m curious what she was like when the cameras stopped rolling.

I know this was from about 2 weeks ago, but this TikTok came on my fyp just now. It’s so sad that season 4 nationals ended up having a horrible ending for Christi and Chloe. I’m sure what Abby did to Chloe still affects Christi to this day, Abby is disgusting and should be held more accountable

Rewatching from the beginning and my goodness Christie was awful

She was literally always bitching. Like lady if you’re that miserable, leave the studio? And I was shocked to find out she’s only 7 or 8 years older than me. She did NOT look like she was in her early 30’s in the first seasons, she dressed and styled herself like a grandma. And her return in season 7 or 8 was soooo thirsty. I don’t know how Chloe turned out to be such a sweet girl. When Christie threw Leslie out of Kelly’s house?? Or ran up and pushed Yolanda from behind like a 4 year old in the later seasons?? Ugh she’s awful. Love love love Chloe though 🩷

Question/discussion Is Season 8 even worth watching?

I just started Season 8, and, with the original team, gone, some random kids mixed together, and stupid unnecessary arguments, I mean, the change between Season 7 and Season 8 is HUGE.

Seasons 1-4 - Absolute cinema, honestly, the old team was amazing and the drama, at least, was not scripted, the kids were actual friends and the moms knew each other before the show. It really felt organic and like they really were a team.
Seasons 5-7 - The show lost some of its spark, without Chloe, Christi, Kelly, Brooke or Paige, but I still had some pretty good things to laugh about, like "MOMS BETTER HAVE MY MONEY!" and Chloe coming back for a few episodes in season 7 was great.

Season 8 - Completely new and different design, and not in a positive way. The lighting and saturation is so white and pale it's making me want to puke. The kids are great dancers, but they're literally arguing for no reason, and in a really cringey way, the moms too, and it's honestly embarrassing to watch grown women scrambling to find ways to argue with each other.

I'm halfway through the first episode, and I literally physically CAN'T watch it anymore. Should I just go back to season 1 and rewatch the show?

Question/discussion I Just Found Out Sia Was Involved in The Maddie Diaries

I genuinely never knew Sia wrote the foreword for Maddie’s book. After hearing Christi and Kelly point out how Abby was barely mentioned, it got me thinking. Everyone seems to focus on Maddie for not praising Abby, but Maddie was only 14, and Sia was heavily involved in her life and career at the time. Honestly, I have a strong feeling Sia may have had some influence over the book’s direction. We don’t know what happened behind the scenes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was more to it than people realize, and I would certainly not put it past Sia if she was to be heavily involved in the Books direction.

Question/discussion Season 7 therapy

End of Season 7 is basically just therapy for the girls from all they had to put up with abby and it’s genuinely so heartbreaking.

When Kira said she felt guilty because she sees what it’s doing to them now that they’ve grown, and seeing Chloe and Nia crying my heart breaks for them. It just shows how your childhood impacts you so much more than you realize.

Ranking Dance Mom Girls based on tumbling (My opinion)

Reasons.

  1. Jojo(Jojo isn’t much of a tumbler. She mainly does side aerials which aren’t the best. She also did mention that tumbling backwards is a fear of hers)

  2. Kalani (She may have only did front and side aerials on the show, but she can do a back tuck without a physical spot. But I wouldn’t say her tumbling is the most difficult)

  3. Chloe (She wasn’t too much of a tumbler. But over the seasons, she improved her tumbling and was able to get her back tuck at Studio 19.

  4. Paige (Paige was amazing at tumbling and has a pretty high back tuck, but sometimes she can be sloppy especially in her aerials)

  5. Nia(Nia’s side aerials in season 1 and 2 were not the best, but season 3 and onwards, she not only improved her side aerials, but her tumbling improved a lot. Her front aerials were also good for the most part, she just has trouble landing them sometimes.)

  6. Kendall( Kendall can do some pretty complex skills. But there are some times where she has straight legs in her aerials, and there are sometimes where she doesn’t have straight legs in her aerials.)

  7. Brynn( She can do so many moves in a row and is really advanced. She’s definitely one of the best)

  8. Maddie(Many people don’t know, but Maddie she a pro when it comes to tumbling, she can do back handsprings, back tucks, layout stepouts, and more.)

  9. Brooke(Brooke is the acrobatic queen and can do almost any tumbling pass. She can do a no handed round off into a back handspring back tuck, a double front aerial, and more.)

  10. Mackenzie(Kenzie would definitely make a great gymnast/cheerleader. She can do multiple back handsprings, back tucks, layouts, layout stepouts, and she even has an Arabian on ground. Many people don’t know this, but she also can do a full twisting layout on trampoline and tumble track. So I think she is the best tumbler.)

Question Was Chloe really regressing by Season 4B?

I know there has been discussion in the past about how Chloe starts to lose flexibility and overall declines ability wise in season 4, specifically the 2nd half of the season (4B)

I know some people say that she was amazing in season 4 and holding her own. On an episode of BTTB when they were recapping season 4, Christi said Chloe told her that she was dancing for her life at that point because Abby was the most awful to her by the end.

I’m not a dancer at all, I just watch for drama so if someone could provide more context 😊
