Things to Do Your out of town friend has a layover in Atlanta at 1am, where would you take them to have fun?
My friend has a layover in Atlanta. She gets in town at 1am on Saturday and her flight is at 9am that morning. So we have about 5 hours from 2am - 8am. What should we do when only so much is opened.
She mentioned Magic City, Iāve never been. Iām partial to Cheetahās but they close at 2:45am.
I wish Atlanta had more spots that were open late night that wasnāt just food.
Iāve been out in the A, but Iām not outside outside. I also know the times are crazy, but I know thereās something we could possibly get into.

Crime/Police Car break ins in neighborhood
Hey yall,
Been living here close to a decade and finally got to experience the right of passage of having my window smashed in and vehicle rummaged through.
I park on street in Virginia Highland and they hit all of the cars on the street and even a cluster of people that park next to the street. I was just wondering what other peoples experience with this has been? I typically leave it unlocked and have been rummaged through multiple times before; one time they even sprayed a ketchup packet on the seats which was super annoying. Breaking the window stinks. As I understand it they are looking for guns so they dgaf about other valuables - case in point ignoring my ray bans.
Anyways what can we do as a community to better deter this? Do you have any humorous car break in stories? Do you have any tales of justice? Idk this was a super shitty day

Question Filming Location?
Hey Redditors,
Iām hoping someone might be able to identify this filming location from the 1996 TV series āProfilerā? While the series was filmed in Los Angeles, the pilot episode (where this photo from online was taken) was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, where the series is depicted to have taken place. According to commentary, this location was filmed outside of Atlanta. Any information would be amazing.
Thanks heaps š

Question Is there any yoga in town that isn't 100 degrees and trying too hard to be a "sweat workout" ?
I'm looking for a yoga studio that is mildly heated at most (room temp up to 80s), and a more meditative, relaxing and restorative vibe as compared to the pop-music-blasting, high speed flows in 95+ degree packed boxes I've experienced so far (highland, yonder). But I don't mean yin yoga. I prefer vinyasa because I do want a physical challenge, just not cardio... I have other workouts for that. I truly hate how hot the studios all seem to be here.
Anyone know of any yoga studios around town that are not swelteringly hot, play more relaxing ambient music, and flow at a more typical true vinyasa pace?

Question Hit and run/ramming on downtown connector NB yesterday??
This happened around 4:15pm yesterday, October 15 and I canāt find ANY record of it online on social media or from news outlets.
I was on 75/85 northbound roughly between John Lewis Freedom pkwy and midtown (canāt remember more specifically). A red pickup truck cut across multiple lanes and hit the left rear bumper of another car. The car pulled over to the shoulder but the truck came up and rammed into it from behind. The car got back into a lane to keep driving away and the truck kept following the car and trying to pin or ram it. I lost sight of both vehicles pretty quickly. I tried to call 911 to report it but I was on the waiting line for over 5 minutes and by that time I was already far from where the hit happened and had no idea where the car and truck would be, so I hung up. (I know I probably shouldāve stayed on the line)
Again, I havenāt seen any evidence at all that this even happened!!!!! Maybe since it didnāt cause any long traffic jams it wasnāt reported as a traffic incident?
Did anyone else see this happen? And does anyone have any info about what happened to the drivers? Iām still super worried about the car driver.

I saw this cat yesterday by the Chamblee switchyards and it looks like an expensive breedā¦.not your typical stray cat imo. Iām wondering if it belongs to someone and where I can even report this. I gave it some extra wet food I had in the car.

Politics Has any politicians spoke on the 285 toll plan ?
Itās clear that almost no one wants this thing. Even Kempt who was a cheer leader at the start 2 years ago has been quiet. Even GADOTās own report from earlier this year said that 77% of the people who submitted formal responses were against it. And the original timeline that was outlined in march was to do a traffic study to see if this plan would even work that would be available for public review early 2027. To my knowledge that study isnāt completed yet. Iām guessing they are just trying to ram in through before the next legislative session because once that contract is signed in December it will probably take an act of god to stop it. Iām just surprised that non of the politicians even commented. I guess itās too close to election time to change the stump speech.

Question E-Bike Rebate former winners, where there a lot of options to buy from?
I won the E-bike rebate (yay!) and I was wondering what other winners' experiences were when it came to actually shopping at the selected stores that participate.
Did you have a preference for any stores?
Was there a lot of variety to pick from? Or did the stores only accept the voucher for certain e-bikes?
How much was your voucher, and how much did you end up spending?
Thank you! This would be my first e-bike

Politics Ballot Question #1 why voting yes could be helpful
From Matt Eliott of Georgia DNR
Far be it from me to tell you how to vote, but I thought it might be worthwhile to provide some information on ballot measure 1 on this year's Georgia statewide ballot. The Georgia Conservancy article gives a good unbiased summary. In short, I am supporting this one. It provides larger landowners (2000-4000 acres) property tax relief if they keep their property in conservation, agriculture, or forestry for ten years. In Georgia we desperately need any incentives we can get to NOT convert rural land to data centers, solar farms, factories, warehouses, or tract housing. We are being overrun. Would this money go to wealthier landowners? Well, sure, who do you think owns land? With plummeting timber prices due to mill closures, there are a lot of incentives for large landowners to sell. I view most things through a conservation lens. The bottom line here is this will provide more incentives to keep Georgia from being further subdivided, graded, and paved into oblivion. Otherwise we do not have ANY sort of statewide land use regulations and most Georgia counties do not even have local zoning.
Glad to answer questions if you have any.

Question Glass company recommendation?
Anyone ever have any custom/unique windows like this replaced? A couple window people I asked said a glass company not a window company. I've gotten 2 quotes from large companies, but I would like to get at least one more quote and would prefer a smaller local company. Any recommendations? Thanks!

History/Culture 99x NOW. Radio 100.5 format tweaks
Is anyone else enjoying this format change? They are rotating more new indie/alt music into their playlist. I'm digging it. For instance, they are playing Fontaines DC . I'd like even more new music and less oldies alternative. But I'll take it. At least they are playing music from this decade.
