Hoard backup your game saves and restores It in another machines, when im talk about sync im mean about move your game save to another machine, ignoring .ini or .json or any config file, work fast and isnt deprecated.

Hi, im the solo dev of hoard.

If you want a Alternative to hoard you have ludusavi, ludusavi is the more old tool with more people behind "A good thing", you need Syncthing to sync the saves, all this tools are free, hoard too.

Here you have a video to use ludusavi + syncthing instead of Hoard.

Hoard works in any desktop system, SteamOS, macOS, Linux, Windows, and works with emulators, and we working on android & iOS support.

If you want a specs of hoard just read the README.md in github.

Ah you can Self-Host without accout or telemetry or just log in and play.

If you self-host need a NAS"own server" and to sync im talk about to use tailscale but you can set up a wireguard network.

You can see hoard in GitHub or in web, if you have any issue you can join in hoard discord and i help you, or tell me here and i text you.

Im upgrading hoard the last 4-5 months, a good feedback isnt never bad.

Mi idioma principal es el español, i have a bad english hahaha, but im here if any Guy needs me.

Article Avoid "Native" PC Ports of PS4 Games on your Steam Deck - SteamDeckHQ

I have been seeing a ton of discussions about these "Native" ports of PS4 games and how they are running on the Steam Deck, and while it is exciting, there are also a lot of red flags. I wrote about my thoughts on the heavy AI usage, lack of transparency, and misrepresentation of what these ports actually are in my article. It's cool that this could happen, but at the end of the day, I would avoid using these entirely.

Question Hello Steamdeck owners! 👋 knowledge!

I am going to buy a Steamdeck soon and I recently started playing RuneScape Dragonwilds. I was wondering if that game is playable on the Steamdeck? I looked it up briefly with unclear results. Thanks in advance.

Also: If you have any other general suggestions when it comes to owning a Steamdeck, please drop some?

Tech Support is it just me or?

The steam deck is an amazing piece of tech, when it works, it's wonderful, having access to all my games on the go and with cloud saves allowing me to switch from my pc to it seamlessly it's pretty much the best.

but it feels like mine is cursed. Whenever i try to have a quick game during my lunch breaks at work it's always an incredibly frustrating issue. the deck takes like 10 minutes to boot, gets stuck at the "logging in..." screen, the initial logo splash screen or getting user data.

My lunch breaks are only 30 mins, and this F***ing thing takes 1/3rd of that time just to boot up; when i'm at home or otherwise have all the time in the world, it boots up super quickly!

it seems to only do this when i'm short on time, which is a crazy coincidence.

At first i thought it was trying to connect to steam and since i was off wi-fi it was wasting time reaching the servers, but it does this even if i'm on airplane mode.

considering this is supposed to be an on-the-go device, i'm having trouble believing that my lunch break use-case wasn't part of what steam envisionned when making the steam deck.

does this happen to anyone else or why it happens? all the information i googled didn't help

-opening boot menu with holding (...) and power

-opening the setup menu by holding volume up and power and hitting continue

-turning on airplane mode

i'm getting pretty frustrated with this

Tech Support Hypothetical question about water damage

So let’s say, hypothetically of course, that I put my water bottle next to my steam deck in my bag I take to and from work. And then, remember hypothetically, the water bottle wasn’t sealed properly and then it hypothetically spilt and soaked the steam deck and its case. Unfortunately, and hypothetically, I did not notice it until the next day around 14 hours later and I have no clue when in that hypothetical time frame the water spilt. I think the steam deck was in sleep mode, hypothetically, and I have not turned it on, will it be okay as long as it fully, hypothetically, dries under a heater/fan before I touch it?? Thanks guys, just thinking of any future hypothetical issues that might arise. 😁👍👍🙏

EDIT: it’s been (hypothetically) heating and drying since I first posted it, and since nothing like this even happened to me for real my steam deck is in working conditions, I am pretty sure it died before it got water on it so no power going through it definitely helped me out some how. As far as I can tell it’s working like a charm

Question How do I get rid of this?

Post image

I was using the new Game Glance plugin but a recent steam update (I think? it just kinda popped up when I came back from desktop mode) add these to the controller and settings icon. I don't want the music and it causes overlapping issues with Game Glance. Any idea how to get rid of these icons?

Everytime that yellow artifacts in GOW3: Remastered (decomp). I’ve turned of the upscaler but still no luck. However, when the deck is docked and attached to the monitor, then all seems normal again.

Out of curiosity, has anyone been playing Stalker 2 on their Steam Deck lately? I have the OLED TV, but I've heard it's only playable on low settings and runs at 30 FPS.

Tech Support All video players for Youtube have this weird data glitch(?) in the top left corner while the video rapidly flashes frames from the past second at random times. Has been happening for weeks if not months. Might be a Steam Deck only issue.

Question How can I set up my SD to download EVERY available update every night?

Post image
52 Upvotes

This is so damn annoying!

I was happy when Valve released the SteamOS feature of downloading updates while in stand by. I set it up to download everything "as soon as possible" and yet everytime I'm grabbing my Steam Deck, I have to update my damn games and some are even pending for "this week" rather than the upcoming night. It sucks. I want it to download updates while I sleep so I can play while I'm awake. Is there no way to achieve this?

First of all, please don't delete this. This project is Open Source, Free and licensed under MIT.

Here's an app I developed to create Minecraft servers on a Steam Deck (or anything running Arch Linux/SteamOS).

Question Is there really NO Umibe no Étranger custom boot video for Steam Deck?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been digging through steamdeckrepo and reddit, but I couldn't find a single boot video / startup animation from Umibe no Étranger (The Stranger by the Shore). The art style and aesthetics of the movie are literally made for a gorgeous OLED/Deck screen!

Am I blind and missing it somewhere, or does one really not exist yet? If any talented creator here takes requests, please consider blessing us with one. I would be eternally grateful!

Thats the movie i am talking about

Question Can the Steam Deck make a hotspot?

• Upvotes

So I've been looking up weather or not the deck has local wireless multiplayer like Nintendo handhelds. The answer is no unless you set up a hotspot.

But now I'm wondering if the deck can set up a hot spot itself. This is a feature for Windows, even with a tower PC. So I can see this as a way to make local multiplayer like what a bunch of devs want.

Playing the new castlevania, which is great, but i can't get the screen to fit the Steam Deck's monitor. It's cutoff on the edges. I can't change it to fit like other games.

It's only in the in game menu.

Anyone have a fix for this?

I've tried all the windowed options to no avail

Discussion You don't need anything else

After purchasing every single handheld device, including the Xbox Ally X, Legion Go 2, and OneXPlayer 3, I can confidently tell you that the Steam Deck still provides a better overall experience than all of them. I sold my Deck OLED earlier this year; yes, I was being stupid, and now I am back after selling the OneXPlayer 3. These devices are great; however, I couldnt use them for the only thing I bought them for: gaming. I am here to tell you that the grass is always greener on the other side and the Steam Deck still rocks. Don't experience FOMO watching the X20 or anything else. Also I got the steam deck oled just for 300 bucks with dbrand Killswitch. Got really lucky

Promotional been developing my game on the steam deck since day one, demo is up now and it's in steam next fest

hey all,

solo dev here. i've been making slots & skulls, a turn-based roguelite where your weapon is a slot machine and you build the symbol pool it can land on.

the deck has been my main test device since the very first build, so the controls, ui and text size were all made with it in mind, not patched in later. since it's turn-based you can put it down mid fight and pick it up later, which ended up fitting the deck really well. there's also an auto mode if you just want to watch a run play out.

the free demo is already up and will be part of steam next fest (oct 19-26). the full game releases on nov 4.

if you try it on your deck i'd really like to hear how it feels, especially anything about controls or readability. still have time to fix stuff before launch.

Has anyone experienced trouble getting this port on the deck? I’ve gotten as far as the Sony and Santa Monica Studio’s logos appearing but then the game completely crashes. Please help.
