Finally upgraded. I'll still keep my Rog ally X for emulation.

Been stalking this page since inception!! And i bought one two weeks ago. I already hate Armory Crate lol

Hey ya'll! It's been a little bit since i personally talked about Winhanced here, but this is the community that started it all for me so I thought it only made sense that i make a custom video for my Ally friends, sharing what I talked about today on the Winhanced sub.

My favorite feature coming in Winhanced 1.0 is the brand new overlay! I will talk more about it and its features over the next few weeks (no worries I am not going to spam this sub), but to start I want to show off something people have been requesting for months. Which is the controller mapping page and GYRO!

In 1.0:

You can choose to either use the overlay or Winhanced HUD via the game bar (it's up to you which one you find most valuable) the gamebar HUD will keep its existing feature set and continue to get device toggles over time, but the other pages are exclusive to the overlay due to the extra control it offers.

- It's anti-cheat safe (we don't inject anything into game processes)
- Works in full-screen games (not older exclusive full-screen games, though)
- can be mapped to whatever button you want
- has lots of goodies.

The controller page of the overlay offers:
- full firmware-based Gyro (no virtual controllers here)
- full button remapping across all of our supported device families
- Macros and secondary keybind mappings
- RGB control right from the overlay
- new device-basedwhatever graphics that show the current state of your controller, including its placement in 3d space.

Winhanced 1.0 is currnetly scheduled to release on 12/15. but honestly could be sooner it all depends on how testing and other 1.0 related task wrap up :)

Hooked up is my 5060ti aorus egpu. Running everything on max settings with ultra ray tracing. And still getting 100+fps. The screen is incredible this is my first OLED device. There's a lot of improvements this lil device has. Absolutely worth it.

So i bit the bullet and bought the x20? Im a life long console player this will be my first pc handheld. What are some must have accessories to pair it with

After updating the RoG Xbox Ally today I noticed the ability to exit armoury crate via the B button is gone. Is there an option to be able to do this again or is this just how it is now?

Edit: Additionally the friends list in the Xbox Game Bar seems broken now as well. It can’t be scrolled via controller, touch, or mouse.

Hey everyone,

I have a question about my ROG Ally Z1 Extreme. I’ve been having some issues with updates since yesterday, and I’m not really sure what to do.

Whenever I haven’t used my Ally for a while, I usually check for all available updates. I start with Windows Update, then check Armoury Crate SE, the Microsoft Store, and MyASUS to make sure everything is up to date.

About two weeks ago, I did this after not using my Ally for a while. Yesterday, after another few weeks of barely using it, I checked again and noticed that there were some new updates available, including a BIOS update and an MCU firmware update. I’m not entirely sure what the MCU firmware does, but I usually install the updates that Armoury Crate recommends.

The problem is that the MCU firmware update doesn’t seem to install properly. Whenever I click the install button, a loading bar appears for about three seconds and then disappears, as if the update has finished. However, when I close Armoury Crate SE and open it again, the update is still listed as available. I can repeat this process over and over, but it never seems to actually install.

I had a similar issue with the BIOS update yesterday, although I can’t remember the exact details. After trying to install it, I shut down my Ally and turned it back on. It then automatically booted into the BIOS, where I was able to complete the update.

Unfortunately, the MCU firmware update is still showing as available, and I can’t get it to install no matter how many times I try. It’s currently the only update I have left to install.

I also have another question. Someone mentioned in the comments on this subreddit yesterday that there was a new AMD driver update available. I don’t know much about drivers, so I wanted to ask: Are AMD driver updates also available through Armoury Crate SE? If so, I might have missed it. Or are these drivers included with the BIOS updates, or do I need to download them separately from somewhere else?

Sorry if these are basic questions. I’m not very experienced with PC hardware and firmware updates, so I’d really appreciate any help or advice on how to get the MCU firmware installed and make sure my Ally is fully up to date.

Even with my new glasses I still cant read anything on the ally so I 3d printed a mount for a touch screen monitor. Problem solved

This is an odd problem, I just updated Windows 11 to 26H2 and my Ally Z1 no longer wake on keyboard. I have not had this problem since I've had this device. I checked the Device Manager and wake on keyboard is enabled for the keyboard device.

Anyone else seen this issue?

Hi, I speak Spanish, so I’m using a translator—please excuse any potential lack of clarity. I’m having an issue when using overlay programs, such as Discord or the real-time monitor built into the Command Center, while playing games in full-screen mode. Having these overlays active causes significant stuttering in my games—something that didn’t happen before. What should I do?

I was playing majoras mask recompiled when it suddenly shut down and now it doesn't work and doesn't even have the charging light on, it wasn't charging, the battery was at like 50%, I bought it second hand, I don't have the official charger but I have a simple 65w charger but still doesn't work, I've had it for like 3 months and I'm genuinely scared it won't work again lol help me please

Can someone explain why I have no GPU options. All drivers up to date, Radeon showing on device manager. Just bought it and need some advice.

Hey everyone -- hoping someone can help me out here. I would desperately love to play Control Resonant docked on my TV in addition to my handheld. I've done a TON of research, messed with a lot of settings, but it still looks pretty terrible. Can someone help me? Here's my current setup and the best I've gotten so far:

Hardware:

• Bullwark Dock
• 100w Charger
• TV: Hisense, game mode
• 2025 Xbox ROG Ally

Armory Crate:

• Manual operating power, 20w (maxed out)
• GPU memory set to 6GB
• FPS limiter 30
• AMD RSR off
• Resolution output 1080
• Refresh rate 120 Hz

In-Game:

• Resolution: ultra performance (I think this is 640 × 360)
• Graphics preset Low
• Vsync off

Still only getting the game to max 30 FPS (even if upping limiter to 40) but any movement sinks that number to 22-26. It's still super choppy, not to mention fuzzy with the low res. I've seen so many games (not Remedy necessarily, but other RPGs) look fantastic with the ROG Ally docked, so not sure if this issue is a user error or specific to Control Resonant.

I've only used the dock for Control (the first game) otherwise, no other games yet. Any help is VERY MUCH appreciated -- THANK YOU!

Edited to update: Bit the bullet and signed up for Xbox Ultimate Game Pass for cloud gaming and that solved all issues.

Hey guys, I have just bought an XBox Ally X 2 weeks ago. And I really like it so far.

Today I updated the device with the new updates that were shown in armory crate. The update ran through and did not give any error messages. But now, my controller is not recognized anymore. I have restarted the device a couple of times, checked everywhere for updates (Windows Settings, My Asus, Armory Crates, MS Store) but still the controller is not working. The only buttons working are the armory crate button which takes me to the AC menu and this button above the "start" button. This one seems to take me to my xbox library. The rest is unresponsive. Even if I go into the controller calibration in AC via touchscreen, there is no reaction to controller input.

Could somebody please help me. It is friday night and I am not able to use my device. This sucks big time.

Edit: It seems the buttons and pad are still working on the Windows login screen. I was able to type in my pin instead of using my fingerprint. But after that it does not work anymore.

Should I be worried? And what can I do to prevent it?

I decided to sell most of my pc components in favour of making a switch style pc using a 9060XT (16gb) through the thunderbolt 4 connection. It's still a work in progress I may require a bigger desk by the looks of it but I've had to spend the last 2 hours getting it to work it's far from plug and play unfortunately but it can be fixed so I want to inform others what I did to get it working smoothly incase anyone else is silly enough to ditch their pc in favour of this🤣

Because it's an AMD GPU you'd assume it'd be plug and play but it's not, it doesn't work at all with the ally drivers and you have to install separate drivers for the 9060XT to get it to even dock. Once you've done this the AMD app will no longer work for you igpu but it can be mitigated by using the AMD control panel in the Microsoft store to bring back the features for the igpu.

I decided to install the driver only after seeing this and ditch the AMD app completely as you can just use afterburner to control the 9060XT. After all of this when ever I entered into a game it would immediately crash. I had to go into device manager and go into properties of the thunderbolt 4 connection and untick "allow power management to switch off device" not sure why this is even a setting but windows be windows I guess🤷

After you've done all that you have your self a working egpu on the xbox ally. The z2e can be set to full turbo with CPU boost on and still run cool as it's no using the igpu and screen etc, CPU boost gives it a pretty good boost in performance when it's using the egpu I noticed. I suspect ironically you'd be better off with a Nvidia card in this scenario as the Nvidia app isn't going to interrupt and conflict with adrenaline but I'm not actually sure because I don't have a Nvidia GPU to test it with.

Downloaded black ops 3 on windows and it won’t load up force closes. Does anyone have a fix?
