Discussion How I would write a story to fix a lot of issues spider-man had since one more day.
It's a rought draft.
How to start:
- an alternate future where peter and MJ's daughter kick mephisto's ass. As soon as he kick the bucket, her reality start dissapearing. Before everything is doomed, she send a message into the past.
The story itself:
- Strange recieive said message and inform peter of what happened in that alternate future
- peter get suddently attacked by almost everyone he knew.
- it is later revealed that the reason Mephisto was able to possess and corrupt all those people is because of the deal he did. The deal corrupted all of the relationship he had with everyone who knew him. And since everyone knew he was spider man during civil war, mephisto had a lot of fun.
- That also explain a lot of things that happens since Civil war: why the superhero community tend to turn on him everytime something suspicious happens, Ben Reilly, why everyone didn't realised that doc ock stole Peter's body, zen wells' run...
- some people are immune. Doom because he's doom, everyone more powerful that mephisto, people with enough protection against possession, anyone who weren't born (viv vision) or didn't exist in earth 616 when the deal happens ( spider gwen and gwenpool) and anyone who didn't know that peter was spider-man before the deal happens (not a lot of people since he unmasked himself publicaly).
- mj can resist because despite the deal happening because her feeling for him help her resist.
- then at some point they learn about a way to break the deal via a special loophole. There is a dimension with a special weapon that has the power to break the curse. With all of his allies, peter went and find the artefact.
But if the deal is broken, May will die.
Mephisto: it is ironic don't you think ? Your uncle died because you weren't heroic Enough. Then you selfishly save her life by spitting on your morality And now being a hero will kill her. In the end, you are nothing but a curse for those you pretend to care about.
Peter hesitate on doing what he must do. Sure he know what he must do but it's still painful. He was going to. Bear the guilt even if that litteraly killed him but he was interrupted by May, fufilling the condition to break the deal.
May: peter may have done a mistake but I know he would always try to fix it. That's what make his the hero he is now.
She then drop on the floor. Peter stay with her, crying.
May: peter, you didn't kill me. I choose to die. I choose to end my own life....for you...for everyone.
Peter: may, please...stop. it
May: I am proud of you. I just wish I knew sooner you were spider man. How good of a person you really are
With that, the future is restored and Mephisto can see it. He can see himself getting his ass kicked by the daughter he tried to erase.
And before mephisto could use the opportunity to sneak attack peter, mary jane attack him. The destruction of the deal freed their feeling for each other. In the realm the battle happens, emotions , thoughts can become powerful (similar to the warp). And MJ regained one of her most powerful emotion. Powerful enough to hurt and cripple mephisto for years. Powerful enough to make sure he can no longer mess with peter.
The destruction of the pact doesn't change reality. They are still unmarried. Everything that happened until now is still canon. But they regain their freedom. Their feeling for each other regain their intensity. Hope is here.
A few days later, may parker is buried near ben parker. Many people assist to the funeral, including MJ.
And now there is two possible end:
- the fan favorite ending: seeing each other remind them of how much they love each other. They get the memory of the other reality. Where they were married. It's the start of a relationship that will last. A few mounth later, Peter and MJ get married.
- the marvel etitorial friendly ending: realilsing they did end up selling their relationship to save an old woman and the consequences of it, peter and MJ is now more hesitant to continue a relationship.

Discussion Do you think this is going to be reversed?
We know that Marvel and Sony currently have a deal that allows them to use Spider-Man! Marvel uses Peter Parker in a shared universe, the MCU, while Sony is making a trilogy of movies focused on Miles Morales.
However, we know that Marvel might be able to use Miles in the MCU after that trilogy, so when that happens, Tom Holland's Peter Parker will probably pass the torch and retire from the MCU. If that happens, I believe Miles will become the MCU's main Spider-Man, while Sony could use Peter Parker to reboot the character with standalone movies focused on his own Spider-Man universe!
Well, that's what I'm almost certain will happen, but what do you guys think???

Discussion Peter parker did become Spider-Man too soon.
The way I see it, Peter became a superhero in a moment when it's not good for him (good for us, of course but not for him as a person). He became a superhero around the age of 15-16 years old and suffered a massive quantity of trauma.
Then he loses his uncle because of he made a mistake.
Sure he was selfish but he was a bullied 15 years old.
And He shouldn't be expected to stop a thief at that age, even with powers. And the universe punish him by killing his adoptive dad ?
That even give him the guilt complex he's known for and with everything the public say about him (especially J Jonah Jameson)others events(like George stacy and gwen's deaths...), we now have a traumatised adult with no self esteem who thinks everything bad in this World happen because of him, barely fuctionnal, so full of self hatred even Hulk and banner have a stable friendship compared to that and so full of guilt about everything he did I'm not even sure the penance stare would work on him
And unlike other teen heroes in both marvel and DC, he's neither a sidekick nor a member of a team. And the only family he had when he was in high school didn't even know he was a hero.
In short, he had no support system during his high school years.
This is possibly a big difference between miles and peter.
Peter was one of the first superheroes in the modern era. He was struggling and had to learn a lot of things the hard way.
Miles became a hero much later. The super hero community is better organised and there is more of them. Especially other teens heroes he can talk with.
And he can learn from the mistake of older heroes like peter without having to do the same mistake.
It is quite similar to having siblings if you think about it...
In short, Emma frost was right. He was just a kid. And because of the trauma he suffered, he didn't quite grew up to be a well ajusted adult.

Homecoming Replica.
The homecoming design is super underrated in my opinion.

Movies I find it so funny that people use to say that “Tobey’s suit is the most comic accurate”. And I’ve seen some trashing on Tom’s suit💔
Tom’s suit literally feels like they ripped Steve Ditko’s Spidey and pasted it on Tom. And don’t get me wrong, Tobey’s suit is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
But it’s just not comic accurate at all, the closest would be Todd McFarlane’s Spidey, suit cause of the kinda pointy eye lenses.
The most comic accurate suits we’ve had in live action are: Obviusly the BND suit, Tasm 2 suit, Homecoming suit, FFH black and red suit, and Tom’s iron-spider (not to the comic iron-spider, instead to the MK-4 suit).

Movies As a reader of every canonical comic book, this scene angers me on every rewatch. All it takes is 1 punch.
Tom’s Spider-Man, the individual who could carry around 10 through 20 tons steps back in supposed fear via a normal human being male who’s dressed in a suit & tie.

Outside of One More Day, have you ever disagreed with Spider-Man on a moral stance he'd taken? If so, what was it and why?
I imagine too many people would point out One More Day, so we are excluding it for this one.

Comics Non-Comics Fans React!
So I just explained “One More Day” to a non-comics reading friend and he reacted like it was insane. “What do you mean Spider-Man sold his marriage to the Devil?!”
On the other hand, he made fun of the absurdity of the idea for a few minutes then just shook his head and moved on to something else instead of talking about it for 20 years straight. So maybe he wins. 🤷♂️🤣
