they’re obviously gonna keep mj around and have them rekindle their relationship in a slow way, they’ll be friends in 5 and reunite as lovers in 6 and we’ll get to see their relationship form in a new way which i think is a good idea and doesn’t defeat the point on bnd’s ending
also mj is as important to spider-man as lois lane is to superman so i don’t understand as to why people say black cat should be endgame for mcu peter, i think it’d be a cool fling for one movie but endgame hell nah
i do think them rebuilding the relationship is a good way to give mj some character development
I think the elephant in the room is no part in making Spider-Man movies is interested to put their money to do a Peter Parker's social world movie. There's universe synergy and villains and toys and beating the next record. It's too big of a circus to make a small movie.
Yet. The character needs time and space. It's a human behind the mask that makes the mask work. We know he has a soul (thanks bnd) but where does it come to play? That's important too.
The solution, a team up movie as a way to de-escalate for a moment, breathe and see the character in a normal civilian setting, dealing with day to day things.
I think teaming up with Daredevil sounds the more convenient but it could be another character.
The way to do it would be the following:
- A special presentation building up Daredevil's (or other character) conflict
- Daredevil's (or another's) movie which is secretly "Peter Parker photographer trying to live his life", while falling in the middle of the crisis, and having to team up as the resolution.
Managed to pick up last month's ASM when it finally went on sale here on my side of the world, and now I'm properly caught up.
I honestly like how Ravage formally debuted as a villain in this issue and the issue after, slowly trying to win back favor from May while easing Peter out in the picture while still being Cormac Crane before going for the kicker when you least expect it.
Having read the solicits for this month, I am curious on how they'll conclude this face-off between cousins as Issue 1002 will apparently explain how Ravage came to be. I have a feeling things may not be as it seems with what were initially led to believe the first time Cormac was first revealed.
It's probably nothing and I'm having these weird possible scenarios playing out in my head but best bet is that Cormac may not be Peter's cousin after all but a de-aged clone of Uncle Ben (I don't think resurrecting Uncle Ben would be in the best interest for ASM so editorial will be completely hands off with that).
There's was panel in #1001 that seems like Peter was about to unknowingly unleash something from his eyes after having lost Aunt May to Cormac just before Mary Jane showed up to give Peter a shoulder to cry on. Either that may just amount to nothing but an artistic expression of Peter's despair or a lingering effect of whatever the hell Ravage was trying to do to him in extracting his memories.
With that said, I love Ravage's character design. I just need to see a whole turnaround of Cormac in his villain form just to appreciate that whole look he was sporting. :)
I’m not saying he shouldn’t be allowed to rage out once in a while, and I’m DEFINITELY not saying he should be a doormat, but that he’s matured somewhat and has acquired some temperament is an underrated thing, I feel. It shows Peter’s matured somewhat and, when he does get angry, I think it hits more. All this to say, Peter B probably being the best example, I think Peter’s temperament being less volatile lately isn’t all bad. Yeah, Marvel shouldn’t sanitize Peter completely, and they unfortunately do sometimes, but I do feel having had Peter mellow a LITTLE isn’t awful
The entire process took about a month and a half, covering both the initial design phase and the creation of the 3D model in Blender.
My goal was to create a slightly darker, grittier version of Spider-Man. I drew inspiration from many different artists; the lenses are clearly a tribute to Todd McFarlane’s design, incorporating a philosophy similar to the MCU’s mechanical lenses, along with a reflective texture intended to evoke the style of Alex Ross.
The messy web pattern was largely inspired by the suit from the Edge of Time game, while the logos are inspired by the BND suit and the classic suit from the Insomniac games (though the spider emblem on the back has six legs which is a deliberate nod to the 1967 animated series).
Overall, this is a personal project that I don’t even consider fully finished, but I certainly enjoyed working on it. I’d love to hear what you think!
A villain many people don't know because he isn't the Green Goblin, Venom, Doc Ock, etc. He was just a scientist whose ego grew larger than his own life.
I just read issue 192 of ASM, and aside from the Green Goblin (Harry), I’ve become a huge fan of Spencer Smythe. Sure, characters like Scorpion and Doc Ock are really cool too, but the last few issues with Spencer Smythe as the villain were really awesome!
What I liked the most was the scene with Man-Wolf and the one with the bomb. Because of plots like that, I currently like Harry as the Green Goblin more than Norman. The kidnapping of the people Peter loves and the mind games with the bomb were a 10/10 story (issues 136 and 137)! The Spencer storyline reminded me of those two issues, and I really liked it.
Spencer has such a well written story for that era. He went from being a normal scientist who built a machine for money to becoming a truly supervillain, until he ultimately paid the price for it. Above all, he does all of this without any superpowers or other special abilities.
This is my first supervillain team that I ask this question about favorite founding member of the superhero related media and I am interested on hearing your opinion about this question based on the comics you read about them.
I think we could because spidey already and come across another X-Men related character being Jean Grey, but that was for a totally different reason, and I think having Firestarter and Iceman would be fun additions for a Spider-Man 5 or 6, depending of what the story is going to be about and centred around too. But I these 2 characters would be fun picks for future movies and appearances as well.
