Free Phoebe Bridgers ticket at Chase Center (Tuesday 10/27) — looking for a concert buddy!

Anyone interested in seeing Phoebe Bridgers on Tuesday 10/27?

I have an extra Above GA ticket and thought it might be a fun excuse to meet someone new instead of doing the usual dating app thing. I'm 38M, Japanese, pretty easygoing, and love live music.

Ticket's free! No expectations beyond enjoying the show together. Happy to chat or video call beforehand if you're interested :)

Art/ tech/ storytelling club out of Gray Area

Is it a secret if I'm the host, trying to share it with you? Maybe.. maybe because it's not very well known, but it is a bit well loved by those that keep coming back. We love it because it's in the incubator space at Gray Area, the upstairs room above the theater. Every other Sunday we are meeting with a different type of VR film. Something indie, often international. These vignettes or curious occurrences where indie art was funded and now, the tech dejected, we can activate the space and share a bit of tea over something from other reality. Or is it? This is a gathering that is finding it's people. One day we'd like the wonder of these stories to reach folks who could benefit most. But who knows -- maybe that's you?

Sharing the link to the next gathering:

https://luma.com/6rcp2b56

Hope this counts as a secret. And hope my writing about it makes sense.

this POV: indie VR art is best shared over a conversation. What's the point of art technology if it isn't somehow a catalyst for connection (in person please -- no need to hide from the friction)

Gender Adventurers Quinceañera BIRTHDAY PARTY October 21st San Francisco NSFW

Our Club's Fifteenth Birthday - Come to Our Quinceañera
Wednesday, October 21, 2026... 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Folsom Street Community Center
1286 Folsom Street, San Francisco, California

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! 15 years of monthly events!!!
180 in person meetups; if you add the online munch and our field trips we've hit more than 300 total events!

Come to our very special birthday party! Turning 15 is an important milestone and we deserve to have a quinceañera together!

If you didn't get to have a special quinceañera, always wanted one, or need a do-over, please put on your fanciest clothes (big dresses encouraged) and come join us at the Folsom Street Fair Community Center.

There's no better group to go "from flats to high heels" with. Let us crown you and please join us in the ceremony of the last doll (or the "first doll" for some of us). No Catholicism required for this quinceañera; the roots of some of these ceremonies date back farther than the arrival of colonists in North America.

Our club has gone by many names over the years. We were "Sissy Night" back when that word was a general slur for anyone defying gender norms, instead of a specific fetish. Then we briefly became "The Crossdressing Club" but that never fit well for a group where a third of us eventually transitioned.

Now, we are the Gender Adventurers and we deserve to have a celebration of how far we've come in the last decade-and-a-half. If you remember us under a different name, or encountered us at Wicked Grounds, please come say hello and show us how much you've grown.

. . .

We offer monthly online and in-person events geared towards gender exploration - but we prefer to think of ourselves as Gender Adventurers! An adventure is open-ended; it might or might not have a final goal or destination but you gain valuable experience as you progress. Side quests are encouraged; objectives might change and there could be plot twists along the way!

There are no medical requirements to join our club. Some members explore advanced remedies to their dysphoria, including hormones, implants, body hair removal or enhancement and many other appearance-based gender signifiers. Overall, "passing" is not our group goal; we aim more for celebration and experimentation.

Our in person group meets at 7 PM on the third Wednesday of every month at the Folsom Street Community Center in San Francisco. It is wheelchair accessible. We have changing space available and non-gendered bathrooms. For everyone's health, we offer face masks in a variety of styles.

After 2 hours to get to know each other and get dressed up, we shift into "afterparty mode" and relocate one block away, to the Cat Club. This portion of our evening is 21+ at a bar during Playland, their fetish theme night. Photo ID is required and nipples/genitals must remain covered, since they serve alcohol. There is a $10-20 cover charge and paid coat check.

We have an ONLINE discussion group via Zoom on the second Thursday of each month, from 7 PM until 9:30 PM (Pacific Time). The next online group will be November 12th on Zoom. RSVP here: https://fetlife.com/events/2026/11/12/online-international-gender-adventurers-november-12th-zoom-rxxpmt

We are also having a CLOTHING EXCHANGE (Clothesgiving!) on November 18th in San Francisco. https://fetlife.com/events/2026/11/18/san-francisco-gender-adventurers-november-18th-clothesgiving-skzk5o

Our club is funded by donations! If you support our goals, please send money to "FriendsofAlice" via Venmo or joining http://www.patreon.com/aliceinbondageland

This winter, it will be possible to find edibles such as chanterelle, matsutake, porcini, lion's mane, blewits, black trumpets, hedgehogs, and more. You'll learn foundational skills to be able to go out foraging on your own. The program also includes community building, a cooking demo, and a tasting at the end.

Empathy Creatures by Mélodie Mousset

TOPIC: Care

Immersive Story Club is a regular gathering out of Gray Area theater (with pop ups around the world), that invites a gather around poetic XR. Art, animation, documentary — this project is possible thanks to Agog Immersive Institute.

Indie artist Mélodie Mousset has agreed to allow her work to come to ISC. Leading up to this gathering, look for instances of care or lack of care. Come open minded, prepared to reflect and write. Bonus if you bring a friend <3

Uni foraging

Post image
2 Upvotes

Join us on the Sonoma Coast to forage for fresh uni. We've just announced our last dates of the year! All the rest are full! Learn how to find, harvest, and enjoy eating delicious uni! Purple urchin are native to California, but their population is wildly overgrown because their predators have died off. As a result, they are decimating kelp and abalone habitat. We can help bring the intertidal zone back into balance by eating them! The best part is, they are DELICIOUS! Led by our wonderful ocean guides, Ryn, Maria, and Christopher. www.forkinthepath.org/schedule

Join us Saturday at 6 PM for an SF Tech Week talk on human-in-the-loop for AI agents

If you're around for SF Tech Week, come join us this Saturday (Oct 10) at 6 PM for a talk on human-in-the-loop for AI agents and automated workflows.

The question behind it: your agent workflow can run for days, retrying and resuming after failures. But right before it does something irreversible, who gets to approve it? And what does that person actually get to see?

Mateusz Jagodzinski, a Solution Engineer on our Workflow Builder team, will show you how he handles it on Temporal, with a live demo and an honest look at what broke along the way. He's spent seven years building React, data visualization and diagramming interfaces.

Almost 150 people have signed up so far, and we'd be glad to see you there too. RSVP here: https://partiful.com/e/2WbsWzjnZJ95qy8liAH2
