"It appears that Ramaswamy is either violating New York attorney registration rules, or committing a 5th degree felony by registering to vote in a precinct that does not contain his primary residence."

Please do not let this lady be elected as a Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court

I see posts about Amy Acton, Vivek, Sherrod Brown, and Husted near constantly. But a lot of important other races get overlooked.

Colleen O’Donnell (R)

This lady sounds like an absolute nightmare to have on our Supreme Court. Here is her campaign page:

https://www.odonnellforohio.com/

“She is running for the Ohio Supreme Court to uphold the rule of law, protect public safety, and preserve a conservative majority on the Court.”

“Most recently, Colleen served as a U.S. Immigration Judge in Laredo, Texas, where she handled illegal entry and asylum cases during the height of the border crisis. She enforced the law as written, never once granted asylum, and consistently ordered the removal of illegal aliens from our country.”

Let me just say that again… “NEVER ONCE GRANTED ASYLUM.”

This is not a person who operates with nuance or discernment or reason. This is a person who operates based off of hatred and bigotry, and her whole goal of running is to maintain a conservative majority on our Ohio Supreme Court, and likely to exploit the system for her own financial gain too.

That is the LAST thing that we need. We need a stop gap between this Republican nazi regime running Ohio and improper application of laws by lower courts. We need a supreme court that will interpret laws fairly and apply them as intended. We don’t need another Trump crony letting the GOP run amuck. And she proudly announces her Nazi agenda. She’s proud to ruin peoples lives, to have torn families apart, and to have returned people to unsafe countries/conditions regardless of their situation or background.

Jennifer Brunner (D)

https://justicebrunner.com/

“She founded in 2004 the county’s adult felony drug court, still operating today. This special court docket helps people move from crime and addiction to clean and healthy lives and give back to their families and communities.”

She wants to help rehabilitate drug addicts so that they can go on to live normal lives and participate in society.

Bottom Line

Every office matters, and you should really make sure to investigate who you’re voting for and not just skip over candidates unless you really really don’t know. But as I was going through candidates on my sample ballot, this awful lady Colleen O’Donnell stuck out to me as a particularly grotesque human being that needs to be completely out of our government. Please vote against her.

Vote for Jennifer Brunner

Seriously. I’m begging you.

Warren City Council blocked me, demanded my address, and used a blogger to smear me because I brought them protected wildlife data

Back in August, I brought Warren City Council and the administration direct benthic field documentation showing live, native freshwater mussels right in the Mahoning River. I included exact GPS coordinates and physical photos of intact shells.

Under Ohio Revised Code § 1533.324, native freshwater mussels are protected under state wildlife law. The point was simple: city leadership needed to account for protected habitats before approving riverbed work and moving forward with unbid emergency wastewater sludge operations (Draft 0857) upstream.

Instead of passing the findings along to the Ohio EPA or ODNR, here is how city officials responded:

  • Social media censorship: Councilwoman Honeya Price, who chairs the Water & Water Pollution Control Committee, deleted public constituent comments and blocked my account across communication channels used for public city business. That block has stayed in place for over two months. Under established First Amendment law, elected officials can't block constituents from public forums just because they don't like the topic.
  • Demanding my personal address: When I pushed back on being silenced and questioned the sudden move for council pay raises, council members deflected by demanding my home address and tried to paint me as an outsider with no business speaking up.
  • Weaponizing a local blog: A local political blogger ran a piece mocking the oversight as a distraction from "traditional city government." Once I posted the actual August email receipts and physical field photos publicly, the narrative immediately shifted to running glowing profiles about neighborhood trash cleanup to change the subject.

This isn't just about me or the river. You see the exact same pattern when a 6th Ward mother has to publicly beg for basic city support while searching for her missing daughter. When residents come forward with real problems, state laws, or documented facts, City Hall's default response shouldn't be to hit the block button, demand personal info, and coordinate PR cover

The whole time line

Billionaires don’t care about working Ohioans.

Elon just wants more puppet politicians in his pocket. Get Elon out of our elections and send Jon Husted home, or at least to one of the properties Jon claims as his home.

U.S. Sen. Jon Husted responded to the beating of a woman demanding the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files at President Donald Trump’s Youngstown rally by warning that people who interrupt political events face “consequences,” directing attention to the protester’s conduct rather than condemning the Trump supporters who punched her, pulled her hair and left her injured.

Is the Mod a Slumlord or Just a Corporate Shill?

• Upvotes

It's sad that this sub has become one person posting their political views on local Issues and not allowing for counterpoint discussion.

Unless you're a corporate landlord, billionaire, or large corporation, chances are you support the ideas promoted by Issues 11-13.

Read them for yourself. Don't take my or anyone else's word for it.

ETA: This is a repost from r/AkronOH. One of the mods there keeps posting slanted political views and deleting any posts or comments with a contrary viewpoint. This is in no way a statement or indictment of the mods on r/Ohio.

Son of Ohio: Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931)

Everyone is familiar with Thomas Edison’s remarkable inventions. Less known is that he was born in Milan, Ohio. At the age of 7, Edison moved to Port Huron, MI. Most of his adult life was spent in Menlo Park NJ where he focused on his many inventions. This photo of Edison’s statue in the Statuary Hall of Congress is from my recent trip to Washington, DC with my son.
