I watched the Ohio State Indiana game (missed halftime) and did not see that stupid anti trans ad once! You know. The one with Soren Aldaco. The person who never liven in an Ohio and had gender surgery as an adult.

Who are we voting for? John? Amy or Sherrod? This is my first time voting, and I want to make a good decision.

Edit: So after doing some more research, it’s pretty much fuck Vivek and Husted. I’m leaning toward Amy and Sherrod.

Good people

To the band members from that house party that followed that super drunk guy until the ambulance showed up to get him. I'm bad at names but I belive it was Gio, Tim, Mike, and one other. I told you I was bad at names, please supply the missing person. Also your band name, too. The world deserves to know who you are. Good people who go out of their way for others.

Edit: if you were a member that was apart of this, please tell me the name of your band. The situation was pretty dire and I never asked.

I mean it should have been an easy win for Casey since he is white.

Every Saturday 12-2. We were a little bigger than usual due to the event to promote early voting! We had 75 people show up and a good 19 at the intersection holding the large signs.

I actually knew zero percent about the whole thing with that woman/man who was not from Ohio who didn’t have minor surgery.

What was the deal with this? And sorry for any pronoun mishaps. Just trying to catch up before Election Day

MILLER & CREECH - OHIO GOP WTF? - Our NO KINGS Get Out The Vote message - Slideshow, Mentor, Ohio 10/17/2026

Today's No Kings: Vote Early rally lined about 2,000 feet of Mentor Ave in front of the Great Lakes Mall.

We picked who we think are the two creepiest Republicans on Ohio's ballot for one of our messages.

Max Miller's ex-wife says in sworn court filings that he threw hot water on her, shoved her, and pointed a gun at her, all of which he denies. Mother Jones also published emails and texts showing a fight that stretched across 17 months over the stuffed blue bunny his 2-year-old daughter has slept with since birth. Her grandfather, Sen. Bernie Moreno, says Miller held it hostage for 48 hours while she cried at night. Both of Ohio's Republican senators told him to resign. He's still on the ballot.

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2026/08/rep-max-miller-has-a-history-of-withholding-his-daughters-blue-bunny/

Rodney Creech told state investigators he got into bed with his daughter in his underwear, "probably every night." Fellow Republican Rep. Phil Plummer told those same investigators what Creech had confided to him about the accusation, and when BCI asked Creech about that conversation, he said, "Whatever Phil told you, I probably said." He was never charged, and the Ohio GOP endorsed him for re-election anyway.

We also had our Bobby George poster, since his parents just joined Moreno in a fundraiser for Cuyahoga County Councilman Michael Gallagher (District 5). Pretty sure most of you know who Bobby is, but if not, he's the Cleveland restaurant owner who pleaded guilty to attempted strangulation of a woman. Ick. MAGA gonna MAGA.

Trump isn't on the ballot in November, but Trumpism sure is. Early voting in Ohio is open now through November 1st. Vote early and in person if you can, and bring a friend or family member. The sooner the better, because anything can happen: illness, car trouble, a family emergency, or this administration pulling a fast one on DEMOCRACY.

Do you see more signs in people's ads supporting Democratic candidates than you usually do?

• Upvotes

I live in Westlake. Before Trump entered the picture, I generally saw more yard signs telling us to vote for Republican candidates. In 2012, more pro-Romney signs existed than pro-Obama signs. By 2020, 60% of signs in Westlake were pro-Democratic. The same was also true in 2024. This election, 80% of signs I see in Westlake are supporting Sherrod Brown or Amy Acton.

Are rural counties any different?

Calling on Amy Acton to mend the damage

This is the open letter to Amy Acton. Please read, sign, and share!

https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/sign-on-open-letter-to-dr-amy-acton-from-concerned-ohioans-for-intersectional-justice/

OPEN LETTER TO DR. AMY ACTON

TO: Dr. Amy Acton and the Acton for Ohio Campaign FROM: Concerned Ohioans for Intersectional Justice RE: Harm Against Transgender Youth and Protecting All Ohio Communities Dear Dr. Amy Acton,

We write to you as healthcare workers, parents, students, educators, immigrants, refugees, grassroots community organizers, and community members of all races, faiths, and backgrounds living across Ohio. We write grounded in intersectional solidarity, collective care, and human dignity—principles that compel us to speak out when political candidates treat vulnerable communities as disposable political collateral. In the spring of 2020, you earned our trust as you guided our state through a public health crisis with clarity, empathy, and moral conviction. When national political forces downplayed mass illness, you stood firm on medical evidence, transparency, and the foundational duty to do no harm. That is precisely why your June 30th statement to the Toledo Blade—declaring that you "do not support boys playing in girls’ sports" and dismissing state-mandated exclusion as "settled law" that you will uphold—was such an alarming betrayal.

Reducing transgender girls to "boys" is not medical science; it adopts the deliberately dehumanizing rhetoric of extremist political movements seeking to isolate vulnerable children. We have watched with dismay as Democratic candidates like Rep. Marcy Kaptur join this race to the bottom with anti-trans campaign ad buys, while the Ohio Democratic Party apparatus actively silences dissent from its own Pride Caucus leaders. Leaders like Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear have proven that true leadership defends vulnerable youth without cowering to right-wing extremism. Even Republican Governor Mike DeWine vetoed House Bill 68 after listening to pediatricians and families; for a Democratic physician to position herself to the right of that veto is unconscionable.

Your words have life-or-death consequences for young Ohioans. According to Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) data, among nearly 350,000 Ohio student-athletes, only 17 transgender girls participated in sports over an eight-year period. There was never an athletic crisis in Ohio schools; there was a functional, medically monitored policy. Yet the harm of state-sanctioned exclusion is tragically real: peer-reviewed research, including studies from the Trevor Project, confirms that anti-trans rhetoric and legislation correlate with up to a 72% increase in suicide attempts among transgender and nonbinary youth.

Gender policing never stops with transgender people. Restricting who qualifies as female inevitably subjects cisgender women and girls—especially those whose natural builds or athletic strength deviate from stereotypical femininity—to suspicion, invasive surveillance, and humiliation. The high stakes of this election demand moral courage and principled strategy. As Ohio’s only two openly transgender elected officials—Dion Manley of the Upper Arlington School Board and Amy Heutmaker, Trustee in Russell Township—stated, recognizing the high stakes of this election does not excuse your remarks. While many of us, the undersigned, will cast our ballots for you this November, we recognize that many trans Ohioans and allies will ultimately choose not to vote or volunteer for a candidate who erases trans identity. We are also horrified about the prospect of campaigns across the country interpreting an Acton win as a sign that all Democratic candidates must throw trans kids under the bus for political gain.

We similarly cannot understand or excuse your troubling remarks about local law enforcement cooperating with federal agencies, especially following the tragic suicide of 20-year-old Wright State student Pierre Damas Bel who was fitted with an ICE ankle monitor following the revocation of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians. In Central Ohio, our communities mobilized against the detention and deportation of Mohan Karki, a Bhutanese-Nepali refugee father in Blacklick torn from his infant daughter after 14 years of legal residence. In addition to defending qualified immunity to shield police officers from accountability, these statements on the campaign trail legitimize the destruction of Ohio families and threaten the bedrock base and multiracial coalition required to defeat the overt extremism of Vivek Ramaswamy.

Calling you in is an invitation to moral consistency. We urge you to immediately take the following actions: -Retract and publicly apologize for misgendering transgender girls and legitimizing exclusionary legislation as "settled law." -Reaffirm your commitment to evidence-based medicine and public health, recognizing that the safety and dignity of transgender and intersex youth require affirmation and social inclusion. -Rescind your support for qualified immunity and local police cooperation with ICE, standing unequivocally with Ohio's Haitian, Latine, Syrian, Bhutanese-Nepali, and broader immigrant communities facing state violence. -Meet directly with Ohio's transgender elected officials, community leaders, and advocates rather than permitting party leadership to silence community dissent.

The mandate of a physician is to do no harm. The duty of a governor is to protect all who call Ohio home. We ask you to return to the integrity and evidence-based leadership that first earned our trust, and prove that no Ohioan’s humanity is up for negotiation.

Anyone had luck with Court of Claims for ODOT roadway damage? Do I need to get an attorney involved? Vehicle damage exceeded $10,000! State is denying claim.

Turnpike police slowdown/block on Oct 16?

Driving home late last night on the turnpike from Detroit and there was a state police car and two additional ODOT (?) vehicles with flashing lights blocking all three lanes from going more than 20 mph. We encountered them about 5 miles before the Elyria exit and got off there, so not sure how far it went.

Anyone have an idea what they were doing? I’ve seen police slow traffic down before but never with three cars or for that long.

ETA: this was around 1:30 am

“Career politician Amy Acton” What???

Dr. Acton was an associate professor and director of the state department of health. She volunteered for some political campaigns, but that doesn’t make her a politician.

Amazing (or not) how far these ads stretch the truth.
