PSA A Note on Moderation and Transparency
We want to be transparent about a recent moderation issue.
Over the past several days, the mod team has received repeated messages pressuring us to manually approve posts that were removed following community reports. We understand that having a post removed can be frustrating, and anyone is welcome to contact us through Modmail if they believe a moderation decision was made incorrectly.
However, repeatedly messaging moderators, demanding that content be approved, or attempting to pressure moderators into overriding removals will not influence our decisions.
We've also seen activity from another subreddit directing attention toward posts and moderation decisions in this community. The moderator of that community has been banned from this subreddit following repeated moderation issues.
We want to be very clear that no one should retaliate or go to another community to contact users, report content, vote, or engage on our behalf. This is not a callout or an invitation to get involved.
We try to give users the benefit of the doubt and work with people whenever possible. Moderation decisions will continue to be based on our community rules and what we believe is best for the subreddit, not on outside pressure.
We're sharing this simply for transparency and to keep the community informed. Thank you to everyone who contributes positively.

There is a website to review Diet Coke and ONLY Diet Coke at NYC restaurants
dcnyc.boondoggle.studioPurists (sickos) know that all Diet Coke is not created the same. Fountain, can, plastic bottle, those annoying little glass bottles that cost $10, Coke freestyle machine - all God’s children unique in their own taste and drinking experience. Then you get to presentation, is it served with a slice of lemon? How about a cup of ice? And if it is a fountain drink, is the syrup to seltzer ratio right? These are the questions that matter and I'm glad there's finally a place to answer them.

Zoning reg regarding parking in rear of residential property
Writing on behalf of my cousin who doesn't have Reddit.
He lives in an R4 zoned area (General Residential District) in Brooklyn. Someone made a 311 complaint a few weeks ago about him parking his car in the rear yard of his house that he accesses via a curb cut and shared driveway with the neighboring house. This is something he has done ever since he bought the house over 13 years ago. The curb cut already existed when he bought the house.
A Department of Buildings agent came by to inspect and issued my cousin an RCA (Request for Corrective Action), which is a courtesy given to homeowners with no prior DOB violation. The RCA identified infraction code B383 and the relevant law ZR 25-41. When I looked up that zoning regulation, it actually says, "...all permitted or required off-street parking spaces, open or enclosed, which are accessory to residences shall be designed and operated primarily for the long-term storage of the private passenger motor vehicles used by the occupants of such residences...". This is exactly what my cousin has been doing for over a decade. But other sources I found says that parking in an off-street area on any side of the residential property is generally illegal and in violation of zoning regulations.
Can anyone with expertise on this matter help clarify whether my cousin is indeed in violation of some zoning regulation? If he is, which regulation is he in violation of, because he certainly doesn't seem to be in violation of ZR 25-41 as the RCA identified?
If it provides context, the neighboring house was issued a more severe Civil Summons for having the illegal curb cut.

History McSorley's is a staple in regard to America's top Pubs. What am I missing?
The history here is second to none for the industry, but it's labeled as a tourist trap. I think it's great.

Photo Lee Bul in Chelsea — a familiar name from my school days in Korea
Lee Bul was already a familiar name when I was in school in Korea, so coming across her current show in Chelsea made me smile. It's lovely to see her still making such ambitious work all these years later.
Looking through these photos, her work feels even richer and more intricate than I remember. The mother-of-pearl pieces especially stand out.
The show is The Anatomy of Every Setting Sun at Hauser & Wirth, 542 West 22nd Street. It's on through October 24, with free admission. Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-6 pm, if you're planning a Chelsea gallery day.
Has anyone been? I'd love to hear which piece stayed with you.
