Islamabad Local/imported Body Washes

• Upvotes

Is anyone else sick of paying PKR 4,500+ for imported Bath & Body Works / CeraVe just to get a body wash that doesn't leave a soapy film? What local clean alternatives are you guys actually using?

Rawalpindi Just had my first road rage incident in Rawalpindi

The guy was a complete lowlife (sorry for using this word but i couldn’t find a better description), who looked like he was a nashayi with his clothes all dirty on a bike that was hardly road appropriate, whose ego got hurt when i drove past him at a relatively higher speed. He then forced an altercation with me by stopping his bike infront of my car and was constantly abusing, as was expected out of him, and also shoved at me. I kept my calm and threatened him not to force me to do something because i did not want to get in a physical brawl with a lowlife POS in the middle of the road. That’s not how i was raised.
However, i was contemplating what happened and i think i should have done more and not let his shoving slide.

What do you guys think one should do in such a situation? How could i have dealt with it better? How can i improve my fight or flight response? Please share your experiences so i can learn from them as well. I’d love to hear from the street smart people who have faced similar situations .

Twin Cities Homemade Hanging Lights – Warm & Cozy for Your Home (for sale)✨

Hey everyone! 😄

So I made something I’m really proud of (probably😅) — these hanging decorative lights. I made them myself, and honestly I love how they turned out.

Quick details: they’re made with PVC and plastic, the bulbs give off a warm light, and they come with a 1.5-year company warranty — so quality-wise you don’t need to worry. They add such a cozy touch to a room. ✨

Just to clear one thing up — the price is Rs. 7,000 for a pair, and the photo only shows one of them.(because I have assembled only one yet)

And since these are all handmade, I can customize them a little if you want something slightly different. 😊

Also, if you have any comments or suggestions, please do share them — I’d genuinely love to hear your feedback!

I can deliver anywhere in Pakistan. 🚚 (well at your own risk, cuz you know our courier companies in Pakistan 🙃)

Oh and one more thing — if you’d like me to ship them myself (instead of the courier, only locally), I can totally do that too, just with a little extra charge of Rs. 2,000 😋

One more thing, I’m located in Wah Cantt if you want to visit.

If you’re interested or have any questions, just message me. Would mean a lot ❤️

Islamabad bats near centaurus mall

Hello,

i visited Islamabad for the first time recently, and went to centaurus mall. Now, i was in the car park which is outside the mall when some black animal flew over my head.

I’m from England and it was my first time in Pakistan and ofc islamabad so i’m quite confused whether this warrants rabies shots. I don’t know whether it was a bat or not, but i thought someone who resides in Islamabad would know. I didn’t get to focus on the animal but coming back to england i came across a post about rabies in pakistan so i’m quite stressed now. I do remember seeing a bird above me but don’t remember if it scraped my head or not. Maybe it touched me, maybe it didn’t.

Does centaurus car park have bats? Just to clarify, it was outside the building so it wasn’t a basement car park or anything it was an open sky and it was at like 1pm! Do these bats usually fly low enough to touch humans? Do people in Islamabad often get rabies shots from bats?

Again, i didn’t see a bat, it could’ve been any animal. I’m just nervous it is one as i’m not from Islamabad and all i know is it’s got loads of mountains.

(edit: just to clarify i have ocd and health anxiety so i do tend to imagine worst case scenarios so i made this post to ask before panicking)

Islamabad Any NESCOM seniors here? Questions about the fellowship bond, salary and promotions

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

NESCOM is holding its fellowship test at my university this week, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it before committing to a 4-5 year service bond. If you joined through the fellowship (or work there), I'd really appreciate your input:

  1. Bond: How much is the penalty for leaving early, and does it go down for each year you serve or stay fixed? Did you need guarantors, and did they keep your original degree?

  2. Pay: What's the realistic starting take-home salary, and which allowances do you actually get (medical, transport, housing)?

  3. Promotions: How long did your first promotion actually take? Does doing an MS speed things up, and do they sponsor MS/PhD?

  4. NOC: How hard is it to get an NOC for foreign travel or to apply for scholarships abroad?

  5. Posting: Did you get any say in which complex or city you were posted to? How's the work-life balance?

  6. If you left after the bond: how easy was it to move to the private sector or go abroad?

And overall, would you do it again?

I'm not asking about anything classified, just career/HR stuff. Happy to take DMs if you'd rather not comment publicly. Thanks in advance!

Islamabad needs Medical help/advice: How can I get free or subsidized LASIK/laser eye surgery in Islamabad/Rawalpindi? (Glasses are ruining my cricket)

Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone,

I am a passionate fast bowler from the Islamabad/Rawalpindi area playing at the local club level. My ultimate dream is to play professional cricket, but I am facing a massive problem: I have weak eyesight and have to wear glasses.

As a fast bowler, wearing glasses is a nightmare. They slip when I sweat, block my side vision, and are honestly a big safety hazard when I’m fielding or running in to bowl. I desperately need to get the latest laser eye surgery (like LASIK or PRK) to remove my glasses so I can pursue my career safely.

The problem: My family has strict financial constraints and we absolutely cannot afford the cost of laser surgery. I know standard charities (like Zakat) usually only cover blindness-prevention surgeries like cataracts, not elective laser surgeries.

I wanted to ask this community:

If anyone here is a doctor, works at an eye clinic, or is willing to sponsor/help fund my surgery, please let me know.

  1. Do you know of any specific trust eye hospitals (like Al-Shifa, LRBT, etc.) or welfare boards in Pindi/Islamabad that sponsor laser surgeries for young athletes/cricketers who can't afford it?
  2. Are there any local NGOs, sports boards, or welfare foundations I should apply to?
  3. Does anyone know a specific doctor or panel that helps out underprivileged sports players?

Thank you so much for your time and help! JazakAllah.
